Imron Paint touch-up

I don't get it. Information on how to repaint aluminum is not difficult to get. Call your favorite paint manufacturer and simply ask them the product they recommend and the steps necessary to apply it.
I would call Carver and find out the paint they originally applied then call the paint company.
Advise from the paint company IMHO supersedes any advise on this or any other forum.

I was just asking iseau if he had the paint number/code as he stated he had done the above. If I have the paint number/code would just make my order go easier when I call the paint company.

Do you have a part number/paint code? I need to order some for my 466. Also, who did you contact at Midwest Industrial Coatings? Might make my ordering the paint go easier if I have the part number/paint code.

Barring the mfg suggestions for prep, an old painter's trick for painting aluminum is to first wash it in straight vinegar. Evidently the acid in the vinegar mildly etches the metal and causes the paint to stick.
