The easiest way find to do it these days is when it pops up in the PMS assign the task to the 2nd or 3rd engineers.

It would appear they forgot the new copper washer on the drain plug.

Is that the washer you were watching? Say it isn't so!

IF they are spin on filters............
drain the motor....loosen the filter only about 1/8 of a turn...ice pick a hole about 2'' below the top of the filter on the low side of the angle....put a small bucket (not a pail) under to catch the oil and go have a beer......when it's done dripping ,wipe w/ a rag,cover the hole w/ duct tape and spin it off...you should have no more than 5 drops to clean up.

if the engine has not been run to heat and change the viscosity of the oil, it might take 2 to 3 beers..

another factor that enters is whether the boss is in town..
