The Overmarine Group, internationally known for its Mangusta line of yachts, has been building boats since founded by the Balducci family in 1985. The Overmarine signature line has traditionally been the Mangusta Maxi Open which has 9 models in the 72 – 215 foot range. The Mangusta Oceano line of full displacement yachts are offered in the 42 and 46 meter sizes. The Overmarine Group creates everything in house out of its Viareggio, Italy based shipyard although Massa and Pisa are also included in the 10 Overmarine Group production facilities.
The Overmarine Group’s Mangusta Maxi Open yachts are state-of-the-art high performance yachts reaching speeds of up to 40 knots on various models, most of which include multiple engines and Arneson drives or are connected to Kamewa waterjets. The Mangusta Maxi Open 165s are the largest open yachts in the world.
The Overmarine Group’s Mangusta Oceano offers a luxury line of steel yachts with aluminum superstructures geared for the exploration client looking for the reliability and comforts offered by the Overmarine brand. The 3 deck Oceano 42 carries more than 16,000 gallons of fuel, and although is capable of pushing its 440 gross tons to 15knots, the economical cruise speed of 11 knots offers 4000 nautical mile range.
The Overmarine Group has delivered 300 yachts between 72 and 165 feet including 9 of the Maxi Open 165s.
The ninth Overmarine Mangusta 165 openyacht has been delivered to her owner. She has been christened "Pumpkin" and like all her other series sisters she has been designed for speed and performance. However, she is more fuel-efficient than any of them. Today’s clients want the layout of a home on-board their yachts, they want space and light, but also a high performance, giving the word a new meaning: not only energy and stability, but most importantly comfort and efficiency, at all speeds.
