Viking Yachts launch 92' Enclosed Bridge Convertible Sportfish Yacht
Viking Yachts, mainly a manufacturer of sportfish type yachts have launched their largest yacht to date, their flagship 92-foot Enclosed Bridge Convertible Sportfish. Not so long ago, many experienced tournament skippers and anglers felt a boat over 70-feet was on the cusp of being too large to effectively compete on the tournament trail. But the Viking 74 Convertible launched in May 2004 proved differently. Fast forward to the fall 2008 when the launch of the 82 Convertible continued the upward trend.
The brand new 92' hit the water on May 20th, 2014 at the company's New Gretna, New Jersey facility. She also now represents the largest resin-infused built convertible sportfish yacht in the United States. Hatteras GT70 Sportfish Yacht
Hatteras is progressing well with the construction of the Hatteras GT70 sportfish motoryacht. She is a latest model in the GT series and is expected to make a big splash when she debuts at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) later this year. "We are making great progress", says Dennis Barker, Hatteras GT Construction Manager. "This week the 2600BHP MTU engines were set for the final finish. We chose to use an upgraded engine on this model, intended for more horsepower and speed, something our customers have been looking for. However, we do have the option to use the standard CAT C-32A 1900 horsepower. Both engines are ideal for covering vast distances- for those weekend trips with the family to the Bahamas or extended fishing tournaments ready to endure any type of seas," he continued...
Benetti launches 47-meter megayacht hull FB503
Italian builder Benetti launches the 47-meter megayacht hull FB503. She is the third hull to be launched in the Imagination series with the first being Imagination, hull 502 called "Panthera" and hull 503, believed to be named "Anastasia K". The design of hull FB503 is by Stefano Natucci and built in all aluminium and is finished in a different colour to her sisters.
One noticable difference is in the angling bulwark on the foredeck of the bow. The others vessels in this model have glass incorporated into them while hull 503 appears to not have this, obviously a feature the owner probably didn't like. Anticipate more information on this Benetti yacht in time to come.

Logica Yachts about to launch first 147-foot motoryacht
Logica Yachts informs that the first 147-foot yacht will launch on May 21st, 2014. Logica Yachts is newly formed and have a yard in Viareggio. Interestingly, this 147-footer started construction with Benetti Sail Division. Many guests can be comfortably accommodated onboard the Logica 147-01, thanks to a stunning six cabin layout. The layout includes a master suite, three VIP-type cabins as well as two guest cabins. On the lower deck there is separate accommodation for a crew of 9 and a sizable crew mess.
The long bow presents the opportunity to have an extra-large 5.5-meter swimming pool located forward of the main deck, with down stream swimming system, fresh and sea water and bespoke whirlpool...
Bannenberg & Rowell pen new 57.9-meter superyacht design
London-based design firm Bannenberg & Rowell unveiled one of their new designs of late. It is a 57.91-meter superyacht design that is quite a departure from the conventional motoryacht design. Overall, it is clear the purposeful use of angles across the yacht's surface that culminates in an aggressive appeal. The angular superyacht rises four decks above the waterline and presents a very roomy 11.03-meter overall beam. The yacht has some interesting features on the lower deck like a tender garage that utilized the broad beam of the yacht, basically the tenders are stored transverse rather than the usual longitudinal manner. Paragon Yachts building 100-foot motoryacht "Skymaster"
Paragon Motoryacht is currently working on a 100-foot motoryacht called "Skymaster". The yacht is expected to launch later this year in time to conduct seatrials in August. Strategically done so the vessel can make her world debut at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in October. The interior of Skymaster is by Marty Lowe and will have the capacity to sleep eight guests in four cabins. The master suite is actually located on the aft upper deck...far away from the usual forward main deck position. The SkyMaster 100-foot motoryacht is currently in build at Paragon’s Kaohsiung, Taiwan-based shipyard, American Pacific Boatworks.

Feadship building 70-meter superyacht
Among the many superyachts being built at the moment by Dutch manufacturer Feadship is a custom 70-meter. Not much is known about this particular build but clearly the design is one that is different from the average. Speaking of the design, it is wholly done by Bannenberg & Rowell. It really represents the first build 'holistically' by them in a decade.
Looking at the design, she spreads over 5 decks with a distinctive long and sharp bow. The 70-meter superyacht is currently under construction at the Feadship Van Lent yard and it is expected that she will be delivered to her owner in 2016. As more details come to hand YF will update you further...

Cyrus Yachts launch 75-foot sloop "Bliss II"
Cyrus Yachts have launched the 75-foot sailing sloop called "Bliss II". She shows off a total design by Beiderbeck Designs. Exterior, interior and Naval Architecture are by this firm. The 36-tonne vessel has been built in GRP and apparently she has accommodation for six guests with the owner's suite located in the bow and two twin cabins aft. Although the guest count can be upped thanks to a convertible cabin just aft of the owners suite.
She is expected to be delivered to her owner in the next couple of weeks after only being launched earlier this month. She was built in carbon fiber and other composite materials for strong but lightweight construction. Bliss II is a sleek design and Beiderbeck offers a slightly different appearance thanks to the deep U-shaped windows in the hull that compliments the saloon windows...
Vicem delivers new 97-foot motoryacht to the USA
Turkish builder Vicem Yachts recently delivered a new Vicem 97-foot Vicem Cruiser motoryacht to the USA. The near 100-foot cruiser arrived in Florida near the end of March, delivered safely to her new owner. The Vicem 97 is really 96' 9'' long with a beam of 6.60-meters. The standard cold molded mahogany yacht can produce a 20-knot speed if she is fitted with twin MAN 1100 hp V10 1100 CRM engines. Of course, there is a less powerful package in the MAN V8 900 CRM that will produce a top speed of around 18-knots.

A massive superyacht has been launched recently almost with little coverage. She is a massive 120-meter superyacht with design by the well-known H2 Yacht Design firm. The yacht spreads across six decks and is full SOLAS with the ability to carry 50-plus guests. A number of great facilities have been built onboard to cater to the large number of guests expected. A large nightclub, fully equipped spa, business center, computer room, games room, gym, private dining room, sushi bar and a full cinema are sure to keep lucky ones busy, relaxed and pampered.

SouthernWind launches SW102 sailyacht "Farfalla"
South African sailyacht builder SouthernWind Shipyard has launched the third hull in the SouthernWind 102' series called "Farfalla". The yacht is a raised saloon in the series making her slightly more distinctive from her sisters. Farfalla was launched by SouthernWind Shipyard on May 5th, 2014. She boasts an exterior and interior design by Nauta Yacht and Design. Naval Architecture is by Farr Yacht Design.
The interior layout follows SouthernWind's notable arrangement by having the Owner’s suite located forward, three guest cabins amidships, and crew quarters aft. It is different as many other manufacturers opt for a different layout. Expect Farfalla to depart Cape Town, South Africa coming on to the end of June. Additionally she should be available for charter in the Summer period...
Heesen launches 51-meter superyacht "My Sky"
Dutch luxury yacht manufacturer Heesen has launched the 51-meter superyacht "My Sky". She was built under hull number YN16551 and was launched at the end of January, 2014. The exterior design is by Omega Architects and more specifically Frank Laupman of the same design firm. She boasts an interior by Erick van Egeraat that is done to a relaxed yet sophisticated contemporary styling. The interior combines white leather with dark high-gloss Makassar wood and natural stone inlays as a theme that pervades the majority of the internal spaces.
My Sky is finished in basic white with black accents on the exterior. The interior is fit out for accommodation of twelve guests in five cabins. The master stateroom is situated on the main deck in the traditional forward area and is full beam in nature. The other four suites are one deck below on the lower deck...
First Nautor Swan 105RS sloop soon to launch
The first Swan 105 RS sloop is nearing completion by Finnish sail yacht manufacturer Nautor Swan. Not surprisingly, German Frers is the designer of the first Swan 105 RS with an interior by Beiderbeck Designs. The performance cruiser is being built to meet MCA code as well as Germanischer Lloyd.
As to how far along in construction she is, the yacht has been having furniture installed as well work on the bimini and deckhouse windows. All interior furnishings plus the wood trim for overheads and soles was made at the woodshop owned by Nautor Swan. Accommodation is likely in four cabins all on the lower deck. There is a master suite and three guest staterooms. As soon as she launches, she will be prepared for sea trials and delivery for Summer 2014.

Palmer Johnson launches second PJ170 superyacht
American yacht builder Palmer Johnson recently launched the second yacht in their PJ170 series. Launched a couple days ago the yacht's exterior finishes is pinned on black accents and neutral main colour. Hull two is a near sister to the first hull in the series, the new "DB9". This hull has a slightly different feature located between the mast wings. It appears to be a hardtop that shades and encloses the uppermost deck. She was built under the project name 'Apollo' and has design by Nuvolari Lenard. The interior is also by Nuvolari Lenard with Naval Architecture by Palmer Johnson themselves.
The standard all aluminium superyacht has a five cabin layout to sleep a minimum of ten guests. The 52.20-meter superyacht has a decent 9.50-meter beam despite her slender cross-section. Shallow coves and bays are still your friend thanks to the PJ170's slender 2.44-meter draft...
