Italian builder Azimut unveiled the Open version of the Atlantis 50-foot Sport Cruiser. The yacht still keeps the DNA of an Azimut design, sporty being one of the attributes. ISA Yachts launch 54-meter superyacht "Forever One"
On June 28th, 2014 ISA YACHTS launched the "Forever One", a 54-meter (179ft) full displacement custom motor yacht. With her reverse bow and vibrant red and white paintwork, the Forever One is for sure a different yacht. This fully custom 5-deck yacht with an aluminum superstructure and an impressive steel hull with reverse bow is designed by Horacio Bozzo Design and the interior design is by Alessandro Massari/Studio Massari. Lurssen completes refit of superyacht "Global"
Lürssen has completed the refit on superyacht "Global", formerly known as "Kismet". She left the shipyard at the end of June and is now in the Mediterranean. The hull has been given a new lease of life with a stunning light grey colour and tremendous shine that Tim Morley describes as “a great credit to Lürssen’s refit team and the contractors who undertook the work”. Her helicopter deck has been enhanced and is now significantly larger and safer for regular helicopter operations thanks to the consultancy services of Nigel Watson. Baglietto launches 46-meter displacement megayacht
Another Italian launch this time from Baglietto in the form of one of their well-known 46-meter megayachts. The steel and aluminium displacement megayacht features design by the noted Francesco Paszkowski. Below decks, she is powered via dual 3512B CAT marine diesels. That engine set-up is expected to allow her to run at a maximum speed of 17-knots and cruise at a modest 12-knots. At 10 to 12-knots she should have a range in the region of 4,500 nautical miles...
Perini Navi launches 60-meter sailing yacht "Perseus 3"
Italian sailing yacht specialists Perini Navi recently launched their newest yacht, the second in the 60-meter series. She is called "Perseus 3" and is the second of two similar hulls that were ordered from Perini Navi. The first in the 60-meter line was "SeaHawk". The interior work was done in-house by Perini's architects and designers. Accommodation is set up twelve passengers in the available five cabins, one of which has sliding beds. The master stateroom runs across the entire beam and can be divided by a removable wall if required by the owner. This is one of the many custom features the owner requested. Another feature is a bowsprit as the owner wanted to accommodate a larger head sail. Perseus 3 will be carry two 6.20-meter custom-made tenders for guest utilization...
Abeking & Rasmussen delivers 81.8-meter superyacht "Kibo"
German custom superyacht manufacturer Abeking & Rasmussen successfully completed and delivered their second largest superyacht -to date-, the 81.8-meter "Kibo". She is second to the slightly larger 82-meter "Secret". The large and graceful superyacht Kibo features design both inside and out by the well-known Terance Disdale Design. Delivery came in good time allowing the owners to utilize her for the Summer period. Kibo was launched back in early March 2014.
Kibo was built at Abeking & Rasmussen under hull ID 6497 and with her out of the way, the German superyacht yard can focus fully on the second 81-meter superyacht, presently known as hull 6498. She is expected to launch in 2014 as well. Kibo rises five decks above the waterline and features a reserved paint scheme, sand colour hull and white superstructure with silver-grey accents...
BurgerBoat presents 214-foot superyacht concept
American yacht builder Burger Boat has been showcasing a number of new designs in recent times and none more capacious than this 214-foot superyacht design. The 65.4-meter superyacht spreads over three internal decks and an expansive sun deck. Naval Architecture and design is in-house Burger Boat in collaboration with Gregory C. Marshall. The same combination is also together on the interior design.
Accommodation appears to be for a maximum of twelve with the layout distinctly showing four doubles on the lower deck and a master suite forward on the main deck. This 65.4-meter Burger Boat concept boasts a rather large pool situated on the aft sun deck. There is wide open space for gym equipment on this deck along with a well-appointed open-air bar. A long hard-top ensures most of the sundeck remains covered. It is only the pool area to the aft that is left exposed to the sun...
OceAnco 110-meter HotLab-designed superyacht
Dutch custom superyacht manufacturer OceAnco has a new design in collaboration with HotLab. The beauty this time is a 110-meter superyacht designed on an OceAnco hull-platform. The Naval Architecture is by OceAnco and BMT Nigel Gee while Hot Lab Design penned the exterior design. The interior design is yet to be determined. She boasts five decks above the waterline and a number of must-have superyacht features. Starting at the aft, the gently sloping and sleek transom area hosts a large swimming pool. That is on the aft main deck, a feature that is pretty-much common place onboard large superyachts. However, take the dual staircases leading down to the stern platform and a glassed-in transom becomes evident. Not only is it different, it houses a large whirlpool. The glass panels that surround the whirlpool are expected to slide but they keep the area nice and dry in any weather...
Mengi Yay 36.5-meter motoryacht under construction
Turkish yard Mengi Yay is working on a couple projects at the moment and one of them is a 36.5-meter motoryacht made in composite/wood. The project, known as NB 89, is well underway in construction after being started back in Mid 2013. The semi-displacement yacht will be accommodating a minimum of ten guests in five cabins. The master suite forward on the main deck and four cabins on the lower deck exist. The master is characterized by 'gill-like' glazing on either side of the room, a feature that the owner surely will enjoy...
New CRN 74-meter superyacht contract signed
Italian yacht builder CRN now has inked a contract for a new build 74-meter superyacht. The new yacht will have nice features that are sure to make living aboard both comfortable and entertaining. She will spread over five decks with plenty of exterior deck space. The sundeck alone will feature sunning spaces, shaded spaces under the radar mast, al-fresco dining and cooling off in the jucuzzi on the forward end of the deck.
On the lower deck to the aft there is going to be a sizable beachclub that guests will be able to use to relax or utilize as a platform to access the sea. Above that on the aft main deck, this 74-meter superyacht's main pool will exist. The long-range cruising superyacht is going to be over 1,500 GRT and provide high-volume to her new owner...
Benetti delivers 33-meter motoryacht "My Paradis"
Italian yacht manufacturer Benetti has delivered the 33-meter motoryacht "My Paradis". She is the first vessel in a newly refreshed line of yachts from Benetti and bears exterior design by the well-noted Stefano Righini. She appears to have a five cabin layout with the ability to sleep as many as twelve. Four double cabins are on the lower deck while the owner enjoys the full-beam master suite situated one deck above on the main deck.
Special features aboard My Paradis include stabilization by CMC Marine using electrical fin stabilizers. There is a turkish bath onboard, a cool feature on a yacht of this size. The sundeck has a jacuzzi as well as a table to seat ten guests al-fresco. The designer ensured that views from inside are not as restricted as on previous models...
SanLorenzo launch four megayachts in two weeks
Italian yacht builder SanLorenzo has been very busy especially with the launching of four yachts in the space of two weeks. Two of them are from the SL96 line, one from the SD112 and the other from the SD92 model. In order, the names of the yachts are "India" and "Peacemaker", "Noor" and "Aventus" (second SD112). The yachts will be delivered to clients on both sides of the Atlantic Ocean. India has been designed bespoke for her Italian owner. They decided on a refined interior decor that melds the use of two precious and prized woods. There is light-grey bleached oak that was used on flooring and walls applications and Canaletto walnut wood on the furniture mainly. The furniture itself are designer coming from Italian brands like Minotti, B&B, Maxalto, Flexform, Roda, and Paola Lenti...
JFA Yachts delivers "WindQuest", the first Long Island 85'
At the end of May 2014, JFA Yachts delivered "WindQuest", the 1st Long Island 85, a 85-foot catamaran. This fast cruising catamaran is the first of a semi-custom “Long Island” series. The hulls are aluminum-built while the deck is in composite material. They have been assembled by bonding. This method has been chosen with the naval architect Marc Lombard to save weight since aluminium hulls were used. This 85’ catamaran offers spaces and performs like a 100’-110’ monohull but with a reduced draft, allowing for more comfort and increased stability.
WindQuest is fitted with a carbon mast and boom. Hydraulic winches installed on the flybridge are well-suited to maneuvering with a reduced crew. This yacht is equipped with 2 x 380HP engines and 2 x 27kW generators...
Hessen sells 47-meter Project 'Margarita' megayacht
She was built pretty much on spec up until nearly launch time, Heesen didn't have an owner for her. However, May 2014 changed that with the contract being inked on the 19th of that month. She is now the tenth yacht to be launched in the Heesen 47-meter series and the owner is said to be a...‘seafaring enthusiast who is looking forward to cruising with his family in great comfort and style’.
Even though Project 'Margarita' is a sister to the other 47-meter Heesen hulls she bears a few stylistic differences. Frank Laupman of Omega Architects has been responsible for the design, both inside and out. The long seamless window glazing on the forward main deck demarcates where the owner's suite and ensuite bathroom exists. Four cabins for guests are located on the lower deck and comprise of two double and two twin staterooms. Of course, all guest rooms onboard have ensuite bathrooms...
Tansu Yachts launch 37.9-meter megayacht "So'Mar"
Tansu Yachts have launched their newest megayacht, the 37.9-meter "So'Mar". It is an interesting period for Tansu yachts with quite a few projects going on. This particular project was announced coming on to the end of 2012 along with another 38-meter project called 'Cutlass'. Cutlass is expected to launch in Spring 2015 while the 39-meter 'Alyssa' is geared to launch in July, 2014.
So'Mar presents an interesting design almost in an explorer military design. She can boast in the provision of accommodation for eight guests in four cabins. The master suite is located on the upper deck and really that whole deck is for the owner. It is interesting looking at the design how the bridge appears to be stuck halfway between the upper deck and the main deck. This is because it is designed in a raised pilot house manner creating a sort-of tween deck in that area...
