Benetti Launches 50-meter Superyacht "Vica"
At the end of October, Italian manufacturer Benetti Yachts launched hull #801, a 50-meter motor yacht called "Vica" She boasts an interesting arrangement in her primary build materials. The hull is made of fiberglass while the superstructure is made of aluminum. Vica is now the first vessel to kick-off the 800 series by Benetti. She spreads over four decks, lower, main, upper and sundeck. A nice feature is a a large jacuzzi on the forward upper deck. Additionally there is a touch and-go helipad located on top the bridge-roof with access to the pad directly from the forward sundeck. The design overall is very stylish combining curves with harder edges by the use of rectangular windows. It appears as though the master suite on the forward main deck has a balcony on the starboard side...
Palmer Johnson Delivers 48-meter SuperSport "Khalilah"
"Khalilah" is the name of Palmer Johnson's latest delivery and she is the first unit in the brand new PJ SuperSport Series. Palmer Johnson continues the trend of launching the first hull of a new series in a gold-like paint theme. If you cast your mind back to the first PJ150 you would remember that the first unit in that series was gold painted and interestingly called "O'Khalila". The SuperSport is a new series from the American yacht manufacturer taking in the extensive use of Carbon fiber in the yacht's build. The carbon fiber construction allows Palmer Johnson to attain certain parameters such as light-weight construction, increased fuel efficiency while maintaining higher performance characteristics. Khalilah is a displacement wave-piercing hull, well, a main hull and two small wave-piercing 'outriggers' towards the aft of the hull...
The Ferretti Custom Line 108-foot Motoryacht
Italian builder Ferretti Yachts is now showing off one of their latest models, the Custom Line 108-foot motoryacht. The yacht features up-to-date styling and sporty edges to her lines. Improvements have been made to the guest experience onboard and their connection to the sea. The larger windows and fold-down terrace midships main deck add to the guest interaction. She is truly an upgrade from the previous model, more space is provided in most areas. Areas that benefit from the increase in size include the main saloon, the flybridge and the open-air aft flybridge/sundeck region. The Ferretti Custom Line 108 caters to ten guests in a five cabin layout. Kleven Yachts Sign Order For 116-meter Expedition Yacht
A couple months ago YachtForums alerted you to Kleven Yachts in Norway launching a large 107-meter expedition yacht, hull #366. This yacht is expected to be delivered to her owner in the Spring of 2015. That same owner has placed another order for another expedition-styled superyacht from Kleven Yachts, this time a 116-meter platform. The superyacht will be similar looking to her slightly smaller launched sister with launching envisioned for July 2016. The 116-meter expedition yacht will feature six internal decks above the waterline and carry an array of tenders and toys. There is to be provision for a helicopter via a helipad located aft on the upper bridge deck. Like the 107-meter there is tender storage for large tender craft on the bow serviced by their own dedicated and specialized cranes...
Heysea Yachts Sign Contract for 40-meter Catamaran
Chinese yacht building manufacturer Heysea Yachts announce that it has signed a new contract for a 40-meter catamaran platform. The contract signing happened in October 2014 and is expected that the yacht will be delivered in approximately two years, October 2016. It appears as though the hulls will be built from steel while the superstructure is to be fashioned from composite materials. She will be 40-meters LOA and have a beam of 12-meters or nearly 40-feet overall. The draft will be just 2.30-meters at full load. The yacht will take on a three-deck arrangement, lower, main and upper internal decks. There is access to an open-air sun deck great for the new owner. Performance wise she will feature two Volvo engines, at 725-horsepower each with the ability to run up to 15-knots...
New 50-meter Superyacht Design by Federico Fiorentino
She is good-looking in a sleek and slim package. These adjectives describe the latest design by Italian designer Federico Fiorentino. The new design is a 50-meter superyacht called 'The Belafonte" and overall she is a pleasing package designed around a 50-meter platform. She will be utilizing a fast displacement hull to help her achieve faster speeds. Depending on the engine set chosen the top speed will vary but between 18-24-knots. On the interior, there is accommodation for as many as ten guests in five cabins. The master suite is particularly large and inviting, fit for a deserving owner. The suite features a fold-down shell door that transforms into a balcony terrace at any time the owner wants to have a bit of outdoors without leaving the suite. 24-meter Moonen Mallorca by Nick Mezas Design
This 23.5-meter motoryacht bears design by Nick Mezas and has a streamlined let slender cross-section. She sports a 6.30-meter overall beam even though is a little tight generally, on a 23.5-meter yacht will appear to be adequate. The yacht sits on a two deck layout with lower deck and main deck. There is an open-air sundeck with the forward portion shaded by a hardtop. Accommodation is expected to be for up to eight guests onboard with four cabins available. The largest room is the master suite which is located midships and easily characterized from the outside by the Moonen-like symbol windows. Alive has been fitted with Hull Vane® technology that allows her to harness the power of the waves to her advantage. The sub-sea wing utilizes the energy from waves to produce power; this combined with the fast displacement hull and conventional diesel engines produce remarkable results. Westport Yachts Introduce 125-foot RPH Motoryacht
American builder Westport Yachts has finally given new breathe to owners of 112's that wanted to step-up in size slightly. They are introducing a new model called the Westport 125 but it isn't a true tri-deck yacht. The Westport 125 allows owners accustomed to the 112 model to step up to the new model without having to go to the Westport 130, which is a tri deck yacht. The 125' is quite similar to the 130-footer in size offering that big-boat beam of nearly 8-meters and still a slim draft under 2-meters. The trick is that she is a raised-pilot house design allowing them to keep two whole decks only, the lower and main deck. Gamma Yachts Deliver 22-meter Motoryacht "Libertas"
The pocket-yacht company Gamma Yachts has delivered the third Gamma 22-meter motoryacht "Libertas" to her owner. She is perhaps one of the more famous yachts because of who her owner is. The Libertas has gone to owner Andrea Bocelli, yes the famed Italian opera singer. Design is in its entirety by Dutch design and naval architect specialist Vripack. Admiral Yachts Unveil 145-meter Superyacht Design 'X-Force'
Italian builder Admiral Yachts recently unveiled the design for a large superyacht, one with an LOA of 145-meters. The project has gained deep development and while still a concept can be built once a buyer is found. For those of you who were present at the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) back in September, there was a model of this project on display. The interior design is by Dobroserdov Design with interior concept by GMC; Gian Marco Campino. Project 'X-Force' appears to be a six-deck superyacht (above the waterline) and puts heavy emphasis on the utilization of glass. Open deck space is also provided and in any-case would not be a problem on a nearly 480-foot superyacht. Main features include two helipads for large helicopter, one of which has a hangar. Horizon Yachts Launch RP110 MotorYacht "Paradise"
Horizon Yachts successfully launched the third motoryacht in their RP110 series. The new yacht is currently undergoing sea trials and is scheduled to deliver to her owner in Australia at the end of this month. Benetti Yachts Sell Fourth Veloce 140' Motoryacht
The first Veloce 140 from Italian builder Benetti made her public debut at the 2014 edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). Now the builder has gained contract for the fourth hull in that fast displacement series. The 42.67-meter series is designed by Stefano Righini with a comfortable interior that is input with the owner’s wishes. Three interior decks are available with a large open sun deck, the forward end shade-protected by a hardtop with optional slide/shade system to control the amount of overhead sunlight. A small bar and plenty of seating and sunbed areas are on hand for guests to enjoy on the sun deck. This yacht will be able to run over 20-knots and cruise somewhere near 12-knots to reduce fuel consumption. Kusch Yachts Launch 101-meter Superyacht "iDynasty"
German yard Kusch Yachts launched a large custom superyacht recently. Many of you would have known of this project as V853 by Vega Yachts. Her name boards are still covered up but it appears as though as she will be named "iDynasty". Her design is by Vega Yachts with an interior by the sophisticated Studio Massari. As long as iDynasty is the design keeps a potentially bulky appearance to a minimum. She appears to span five decks above the waterline and the steel yacht has a beam of approximately 16-meters. She is touted to have diesel-electric power package allowing her to cruise relatively efficiently at 14-knots. Slightly slower will give her a range in the region of 6,000 nautical miles. iDynasty is expected to provide berthage for up to twenty-two guests and around twenty-nine crew members...

SanLorenzo 60-meter 'Steel' Superyacht
Italian megayacht builder SanLorenzo is currently building their largest yacht a 60-meter hull from their 'Steel' line. She will rise five decks with four of them being internal and the other an open air sundeck retreat. The 60-meter Steel model bears design by Stefano Natucci and once completed will become the yard's flagship model but not for very long. There is a 62-meter Steel model in the works. This particular vessel has been sold to a Russian client who will take delivery of her in the next couple of years. Onboard, she is expected to sleep twelve guests as well as many as thirteen crew members. Power will come via a pair of CAT 3512C DITA marine diesels able to run her to a top speed in the region of 17-knots. Dial her back and she will easily have ocean-crossing range up to 6,000 nautical miles at 11-knots. Her owner should take delivery in 2017...
