Heesen Launches 47-meter Megayacht "Asya"
Dutch manufacturer Heesen follows up the delivery of the 51-meter superyacht "MySky" with the launching of hull YN 16947, "Asya". As the yard number suggests, Asya is a member of the 47-meter semi-displacement Heesen line. Not surprisingly, Asya was christened in a private ceremony/function commemorating her final name. The design is by Omega Architects with Frank Laupman at the head while the interior is by Bannenberg and Rowell. Heesen Launches 50-meter Superyacht "Sibelle"
Dutch superyacht builder Heesen has a yacht in the final stages of build under the build number YN16750 for launch in 2015. According to Marine Traffic it appears as though this yacht was recently launched with the AIS carrying the name "Sibelle". If it sounds familiar to you, then you would remember that Heesen built a 44-meter megayacht back in 2008 with the same name, which coincidentally is currently for sale. The new yacht has a very special design, a bit different to what Heesen normally does. First, there is a straight bow and long fore deck. The foredeck, according to renderings is to be the home of the vessel's two main tenders. As for the design, Omega Architects penned the styling lines of Sibelle while AB Studios did the interior design work. Accommodation appears to be for guests in five cabins...

As you may figure, the SL86 is the step up to the SL82 and offers many improvements with styling, comfort and more obviously, space! The main saloon onboard the SL86 for example, is 2.5-meters longer than on the predecessor. Along with that, the yacht is slightly wider and offers more glazing to take advantage of better views outward from the interior. While the SL86 as a model has debuted at the Show -which runs until the 25th of January- there isn't an actual boat as yet. The first hull is currently under construction and is expected to make her physical debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2015...

Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure to a design by Tim Heywood, the Topaz-esq superyacht has an interior by the firm Alberto Pinto. Benetti Rolls Out 56-meter Superyacht "Suppina"
The newest custom superyacht from Italian builder Benetti has made the light of day. Although Benetti has not yet commented on the launch of this yacht it definitely appears to be the 56-meter superyacht hull 267. The silhouette for hull 267 on the 'Currently Building' section on their website matches the design of this yacht here and more or less confirms. The new superyacht appears to be named "Suppina". One of the first aspects of the yacht to strike you is her design, quite squared. Prominent structure takes up alot of space on the traditional sun deck. The superstructure in general is quite square on the edges... lacking the usual styling/fashion plates of Benetti. Also note the unusually long and enclosed main deck towards the aft...

50-meter Philippe Briand Designed Vitruvius Superyacht
Designer Philippe Briand has designed a new 50-meter superyacht. The design may appear similar to the 50-meter exploring yacht "Exuma". However, as similar as they are, Philippe Briand contends that the new 50-meter Vitruvius is quite different especially on the interior. Combining luxury with green efficiency is a hallmark of a Vitruvius® design for which Naval Architect Philippe Briand is best recognised. Like all the Vitruvius® designs, the efficient optimised hull has a low resistance and she will boast 25% less consumption and reduced co2 emissions than an average yacht of the same size. The yacht's range of autonomy is 5,500 nautical miles at 12-knots , which is more than enough to cross the Atlantic. The new design is 499 GT, which is directly comparable to the GT of Exuma, but the use of the volume is very different...
JFA Yachts Unveil 115-foot Power Catamaran
French catamaran specialist JFA Yachts recently unveiled a new design for a power catamaran. The design called for a 115-foot power catamaran that was designed by an interesting collaborator, Peugeot Design Lab. The 35-meter catamaran hull motoryacht is quite aggressive in its external design presentation. One of the hallmarks generally given via a catamaran design is the spaciousness provided by twin hulls. In this case, the 115-foot power CAT has a more-than-comfortable beam of 14.5-meters or around 48-feet. How many 35-meter monohull motoryachts do you know existing having a 48-foot overall beam? Not alot of information is available on this new design as yet but clearly based on the design, guests will be accommodated in cabins in the hulls while the owner will have their suite, forward on the main deck, taking advantage of the excessive beam...
