McConaghy Yachts Unveil Tri60 Trimaran Day Boat
It remains a concept for now but the guys at McConaghy Yachts are not shy about their latest development. They recently unveiled the design for a Day Boat concept utilizing the trimaran platform. You do not have to cast your mind too far back to remember the 42-meter trimaran "Adastra" that they built to much public fanfare. BMT Asia Pacific has worked with McConaghy Yachts on this one again, not a strange collaboration as they have done work together before. The Tri60 will pretty much be a day boat available in two versions, at least in concept. They are expecting to have a Tri60 'Saloon' and a Tri60 'Cabriolet'. The Saloon version is pretty self-explanatory with the platform just focusing more on the interior and featuring a full-beam master suite. The Cabriolet on the other hand will bring out the true purpose for the Tri60 model.....

Heesen Launches 50-meter Superyacht "Sibelle"
Dutch superyacht builder Heesen has a yacht in the final stages of build under the build number YN16750 for launch in 2015. According to Marine Traffic it appears as though this yacht was recently launched with the AIS carrying the name "Sibelle". If it sounds familiar to you, then you would remember that Heesen built a 44-meter megayacht back in 2008 with the same name, which coincidentally is currently for sale. The new yacht has a very special design, a bit different to what Heesen normally does. First, there is a straight bow and long fore deck. The foredeck, according to renderings is to be the home of the vessel's two main tenders. As for the design, Omega Architects penned the styling lines of Sibelle while AB Studios did the interior design work. Accommodation appears to be for guests in five cabins...

As you may figure, the SL86 is the step up to the SL82 and offers many improvements with styling, comfort and more obviously, space! The main saloon onboard the SL86 for example, is 2.5-meters longer than on the predecessor. Along with that, the yacht is slightly wider and offers more glazing to take advantage of better views outward from the interior. While the SL86 as a model has debuted at the Show -which runs until the 25th of January- there isn't an actual boat as yet. The first hull is currently under construction and is expected to make her physical debut at the Cannes Yachting Festival in September 2015...
Lurssen Hands Over 104-meter Superyacht "Quantum Blue"
The confidential "Quantum Blue" project is now completed and appears to be handed over. The final name is actually "Quantum Blue". Sometimes the project name has nothing to do with the final name. The displacement superyacht stretches 104-meters long with an impressive beam in the region of 16.80-meters or around 55.44-feet overall. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure to a design by Tim Heywood, the Topaz-esq superyacht has an interior by the firm Alberto Pinto. Quantum Blue was the last of three superb superyachts to be delivered by Lurssen in 2014. Benetti Rolls Out 56-meter Superyacht "Suppina"
The newest custom superyacht from Italian builder Benetti has made the light of day. Although Benetti has not yet commented on the launch of this yacht it definitely appears to be the 56-meter superyacht hull 267. The silhouette for hull 267 on the 'Currently Building' section on their website matches the design of this yacht here and more or less confirms. The new superyacht appears to be named "Suppina". One of the first aspects of the yacht to strike you is her design, quite squared. Prominent structure takes up alot of space on the traditional sun deck. The superstructure in general is quite square on the edges... lacking the usual styling/fashion plates of Benetti. Also note the unusually long and enclosed main deck towards the aft...
