Mulder Begins Building 36-meter Yacht
Mulder Shipyard in the Netherlands has begun construction of a new 36-metre yacht, the yard’s largest project-to-date and the second to be built to the exacting new LY3 standard. Having successfully delivered a 28.65-metre Mulder Voyager and the 34-metre custom-built Solis in 2015, this new 36-metre project is the next step forward for a Dutch yard that is making significant waves in the global superyacht market. “The basic concept behind this exciting new yacht is to make the most out of a volume not exceeding 300 GT,” explains yard director Dick Mulder. “This will open up excellent possibilities for both private use and chartering, with the possibility of having a relatively small crew on board when the owners are onboard.” A full beam design will allow the volume and privacy in the owners’ area to be maximised...

2016 Miami Boat Show
For 2016, the Miami Boat Show committed urban sprawl. Tag along with us (it beats the bus!) for the Yacht and Brokerage Show along Collins Ave, which has been rebranded to the "Yachts Miami Beach" show. This used to be the place to see the "biggest and baddest" yachts in the area, as well as new arrivals. Well, the big boys were MIA, relocated to a new venue on Watson Island and called "Superyachts Miami"; now located at the Island Gardens Deep Harbor Marina off the Port of Miami... you know, where ships berth. Not a bad idea to relocate dock-consuming vessels but the general public was shunned without an invite, credentials or a bag-a-bucks. Next best thing.....
Luiz DeBasto Designs 40M Evolution
Blending the lines between a flybridge boat and an express cruiser, Luiz Debasto has hit on a new 'open' concept with the debut of a 40-meter yacht design at the 2016 Miami Boat Show. The Top Deck 40M is the ocean-going evolution of a radical party boat that made it's first appearance in 2014, the Top Deck 63' for Astondoa Yachts; a hybrid center console that transformed into a self-contained island. Mostly utilitarian in nature, it created serious envy with anyone under a t-top...

66.25-meter Superyacht "Vanish" Launched By Feadship
Days after the 66-meter superyacht "Vanish" was christened she was floated and towed out of her build shed at Feadship. Vanish has an interesting layout not only for guest accommodation but overall. All guest accommodation appears to be located on the forward end of the main deck. This gave the owner opportunity to have the mid to aft of the upper deck for themselves. On the starboard side, in the midships area there is a double-height atrium that has floating stairs with a view through the expansive glazing for guests who traverse that area. And just forward of this area is where the owners full-beam suite is. On the Starboard side, there is a slide-out balcony cleverly integrated into the superstructure. The large bed is off center on the port side of the room again with great views outward through the large window...
