47-meter Project 'Ruya' is under construction at Dutch builder Heesen Yachts. This yacht as far as we know does not have an owner at present and is for sale with delivery slated for 2017. She is in build as YN17947 at Heesen and features a full-displacement hull. The design is by Omega Naval Architects and will be having a sophisticated interior by Bannenberg & Rowell. Nordhavn N6830 "Vesper" Commissioned
This single-engine aft pilothouse N68 is the 30th hull number to be completed by ocean-going trawler/expedition yacht specialist Nordhavn. She is reportedly called "Vesper" and was commissioned in Dana Point, California. The owners took delivery of the boat and had a christening party last week in Dana Point hosting PAE staff and various vendors aboard the stunning Vesper. Now that commissioning is complete they will get their feet wet with little trips around the area. In November they will head down the coast with their salesman, cruise Mexico, with the goal of bringing the boat through the Panama Canal and cruising the Bahamas and up the Eastern Seaboard, eventually making it to their home in Cape Cod by Summer 2016...
34-meter Motoryacht "REM" Launches At Mengi Yay
Turkish builder Mengi Yay has launched their latest luxury yacht. She is a 34-meter motoryacht going by the name of REM. It's unclear if the name is a substitute of a name or referring to the sleep term Rapid Eye Movement. Either way, the semi-displacement REM stretches a 34-meter overall length with a 7.8-meter beam and draft at 2.3-meters. The design is by a Turkish designer Ibrahim Karatas who worked very closely with the owner to create a yacht that is fitting with personal taste...
Technical Launch For 48-meter Bilgin Yacht
Turkish builder Bilgin Yachts has a number of projects working on at the moment and one of them is a 48-meter luxury yacht. As far as we know this yacht is being built on spec with no owner as yet. The hull and superstructure have been completed and are together allowing them to technically launch the yacht in preparation for further construction and start the fit-out process. The next time we hear about this particular yacht is late 2016 when she is anticipated to launch (for real). Delivery is expected for 2017, perhaps in the first half of that year...
Moonen Matica Build Continues As Moonen Yard Resumes Work
It is well known that financial problems struck the Dutch pocket-yacht builder Moonen causing them to shut-down operations. Great news now fills the air with the formal announcement on November 20th that the yard has resumed work. The Moonen 'Matica' is part of the Moonen Caribbean range of yachts the yard announced nearly 2 years ago. The 'Martinique' hull is also well advanced and is reportedly 90-percent completed and is presently up for sale. Four Motoryachts In Production At Christensen Yachts
Since coming under new ownership the American-based Christensen Yachts report a number of yachts under construction and with the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) starting tomorrow, we are expecting to hear more on some of these builds as they will be present at the event. However, we can tell you that there is a 50-meter -hull 42-, a 49-meter -hull 40-, hull 38 and hull 36 all in various stages of build. Hull 36 is the most advanced and is nearing completion with finishing expected to be done in a few months time. She was originally supposed to be a 2015 delivery but will premiere in 2016.
