Westport Yachts Detail W65 Flagship
In response to customer demand, Westport Yachts decided to add a few new models as well as offer refreshment to the styling of others. We have seen the refreshing in the longstanding Westport 112 line and now the yard has given details about its new flagship, which at this stage is being referred to as the W65. Yes, that suggests that the new flagship is going to be a 65-meter and be built on a steel displacement hull. Developments are still being made to the flagship as the yard suggests that the superstructure could either be built from composite or aluminium but more-than-likely aluminium as it offers the potential for a shorter delivery time frame. OceAnco Showcases Project 'Lumen' at 2017 FLIBS
Dutch superyacht builder OceAnco announced today that they are showcasing superyacht Project 'Lumen'. To represent this design, the yard has a scale model on display. The name Lumen suggests sparkle and light and therefore a special coating made with diamonds is in the finish. They are describing it as a revolutionary finish from Sun King Diamond Coating. If you are at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, the model is at OceAnco's Stand #11 for viewing. Project Lumen is 92-meters or around 302-feet and has its lines penned by American designer Adriel Rollins. Amels is set to start work on building a new custom superyacht. The 78-meter luxury yacht will be their largest vessel (By gross tonnage) at around 2,850GT. Of course the largest yacht (length wise) Amels has built so far is the 83.5-meter "Here Comes The Sun" but she doesn't quite match the GT of the new 78-meter custom.
