"Stardust" The First LE206 By Amels/Damen Yachting
Amels/Damen Yachting has delivered the first LE206 yacht called "Stardust". If the form-factor looks familiar then it is because this yard built a handful of LE199 (think "Event", "Madame Kate" etc) that was the genesis for the slightly longer LE206. The finished vessel Stardust is actually 204.9-feet long and has been seen in Norway during her maiden voyage. The Tim Heywood designed yacht was launched earlier this year...

The photos below show her going through the paces during sea trial operations. The yacht is expected to ship soon from Taiwan to the United States where it will be commissioned and delivered to the customer. The FD92 was birthed mainly because the owner wanted an FD87 but with an enclosed skylounge/bridge area but still having a flybridge with secondary helm station. Ocea Commuter 50; A Nod Back To The Past
In the past, commuter yachts were often the mode of transportation used by wealthy tycoons to transit between home and work. French-based Ocea Yachts has been making commuter-styled yachts for decades and their boats usually are designed to give a nod to past commuter designs. The Ocea Commuter 50 is a stylish 50-meter all-aluminum yacht that does not stray from the classic Ocea Commuter lines of past yachts. This yacht will be capable of carrying twelve guests in six cabins and a crew of ten. Top speed will be 18-knots when demanded and a comfortable 15-knot cruise speed to extend the operational range. However, if meaningful range is what you need out of the Commuter 50, then at a continuous 10-knots, the yacht can roam for 5,000 nautical miles. She is envisioned to be powered by 2 x 1 700 bhp engines sipping from 57,000 LT. The 290 tonne yacht would be certified Lloyd’s Register/MCA...

The first unit in a new line from Italian builder CdM has been launched and bears the name "Aurelia". The yacht is from the yard's new Flexplorer line -which you can read into as meaning Flexible Explorer-. Constructed using Sapele ring frames to which Douglas fir longitudinal strips were bonded, the P70 build followed the same core processes of Spirit’s sailing yacht hulls. Once the initial structure was complete, diagonal layers of kaya wood planking were laid down, sanded and vacuum infused with a thin layer of epoxy resin.
