Partially Finished Sailing Vessel Gets New Life At Turquoise Yachts
There is a sailing yacht under construction at Turquoise Yachts...yes Turkish premier builder Turquoise Yachts. That might sound odd that a company that is accustomed to building motor yachts is attempting to build a sailing yacht. Pause your thoughts for a second. The 51-meter aluminium sailing yacht actually did not originate at Turquoise but rather was started at a Dutch yard and Turquoise bought it. She was originally aimed to be a schooner but now will have a sloop rig with Dykstra Naval Architects in charge of that re-optimization...

With the 110-meter "KAOS" having arrived in the Caribbean after crossing the Atlantic from Gibraltar and previously from Lurssen's Blohn + Voss' facility she is set to enjoy the winter months in the region with her new owners. KAOS was built as "Jubilee" in 2017 by Dutch yard Oceanco but new owners since then purchased her and then she underwent significant refit at Lurssen's Blohm + Voss from March 2019 until a few weeks ago. Much of the work was actually carried out on the interior where over 1,500 square meters of interior was redone to the current owner's taste. The exterior too has seen some modification. The original paint scheme is still in tact but exterior modification work can be clearly seen at the aft end of the vessel where Lurssen worked on the main deck and bridge deck aft with styling by Sam Sorgiovanni, integrated into the yacht’s original design...

The second unit in the Sirena 88 series has been launched. The Turkey-based yard launched the vessel -still wrapped up in protective material-, into the water via travel lift. With the recent launch of hull number 64 in the Westport 112 Raised Pilothouse series, YachtForums is proud to revisit this updated model and present it to our community. So what makes this Westport 112 review different? Somewhere between spoiler alert and full disclosure, this review is virtual. Wait! Don’t hit the delete key yet. This collaboration resulted in a European oriented type of interior; different from the typical American-styling. The buyers of Nordhavn 80, hull #3, liked what they saw and opted to go with a Vripack-designed interior...
