Humphreys Yacht Design has announced that work has begun on the construction of a 37-metre (122 feet) High Performance Motor Yacht at McMullen & Wing in Auckland, NZ. Designed as a long-distance, ocean-going yacht, the hull and superstructure are built substantially from carbon composite which, when combined with three MTU 16v 4000 M90 series engines and Rolls Royce Kamewa jet drives, are designed to achieve speeds in the 60 knot range.
To allow a vessel of this size to travel at such speeds, a wide range of issues had to be anticipated and addressed. One important factor concerned the centre of gravity, which in high-speed motorboats needs to be situated nearer the stern than in displacement craft...

Her dimensional decks and wave-like curves blend together in a symphony of steel and alloy, accented with elliptical black windows for a racy, yet mysterious effect. As if the terms megayacht, superyacht and gigayacht weren't enough, along comes Heesen with their performance yachts...

It's no surprise the silhouetting stance of the NorthStar 105' gives the impression of a much larger yacht.... this baby's got one more deck than most! NorthStar's tri-deck arrangement covers the entire scope of a yacht owners needs. Being on a boat for any length of time means needing to move about and find your own space.
Well... space is what we've got here. From the aft deck for finding peace, to the cockpit for finding fish, right down to the swim platform for going off the deep end. All wrapped up in one of the slickest boats afloat...

NEW LIFE JACKETS KEEP DOGS SAFE ON THE WATER...
Boaters understand the importance of having human life jackets onboard, and should recognize that it is equally important to provide a flotation device for their faithful, four-legged companions. The new Paws Aboard Life Jacket keeps dogs safe on the water, whether boating or swimming.
The life jackets provide superior buoyancy. If the pet wants to take an afternoon swim, the mesh underbelly quickly drains excess water and speeds drying time, keeping the pet cool and comfortable.
Reflective strips and bright, neon-yellow fabric make the life jackets highly visible. They also feature a sturdy handle to make retrieving a dog from the water quick and easy. The heavy-duty, adjustable Velcro® strapping system stays securely fastened. Because of its unique design, strapping around the belly and neck, there is no fighting to get the dog into the life jacket...

AIR DRYER ELIMINATES MOISTURE, MOLD AND MILDEW...
Reducing moisture is an important factor in preventing mold and mildew. The Air-Dryr™ 1000 by Davis Instruments eliminates damp air from homes, boats and RVs.
Designed to operate anywhere, the Air-Dryr 1000 is easier to use than a dehumidifier and effectively dries 1,000 cubic feet of air. By using natural convection to heat and move air, the silent, high-volume unit has no containers to empty or hoses to connect.
Drawing damp air into its polycarbonate base, the Air-Dryr heats the air above the dew point and releases it out the top vents. The heated air rises and forces cooler, damp air through the Air-Dryr. This lowers the relative humidity and prevents mold and mildew growth.
Containing no parts that cause sparking, the compact unit safely eliminates moisture from boats and RVs. Having a stable, low-profile design, the Air-Dryr fits conveniently in tight spaces. It has a 13.5" diameter and stands 4.25" high...

Three months after taking over as the new owner of Broward Yachts in Dania Beach, Tom Lewis announced that the company will build three new lines of yachts ranging from 120 feet to 160 feet. The newly designed Broward Yacht models, priced from $10 million to $20 million, are the main element in the new owner's plan to revive the boatyard as one of America’s premier builders of megayachts. Lewis is a real estate developer from Miami who bought the 10-acre yard in March after leasing a Broward yacht and later deciding to buy one for himself.
Founded more than five decades ago, the boatyard, formerly called Broward Marine Inc., was one of the first producers of megayachts. In recent years, however, production and sales at the yard, which has made more than 200 yachts, have fallen off. Other South Florida companies build yachts and smaller boats, but Broward Yachts is the area's only producer of megayachts, or luxury vessels measuring 80 feet or larger...

After returning to the dock from an enjoyable day on the water, more than one skipper has overlooked switching off accessories such as the blower or bilge pump. A programmable alarm from Water Witch takes the worry out of a dead battery or equipment damage by providing a reminder for the forgetful captain.
Water Witch's PA300-series programmable alarms can be wired directly to any accessory that might be left on accidentally. The alarm contains an electronic, audible timer with adjustable preset times of 1-15 minutes. This time interval is easily selected at the touch of a button on the front panel.
When the preset time period expires, a stainless steel, piezo buzzer sounds and continues to pulse until it is shut off or muted. If the mute button on the front panel is pressed, the buzzer is silenced and the timer automatically resets. If the accessory or device is turned off, the PA300 shuts off automatically.
