Horizon launches EP148 superyacht​

Horizon's first major launch occured last week at the manufacturer's yard facility. She is a member of Horizon's 'EP' Series and is the flagship of that particular series. The launching of the EP148 represents a major milestone for Horizon Yachts as it is nearing the climax of more than two years of extensive work.

The EP148 came out of the necessity to compete on the world mega-yacht stage. Horizon has developed the EP148 ultimate steel, long-range cruising yacht. Combining style, stability, safety and luxury into a BV Ice Classification design, the Horizon EP148 has surpassed the challenge and is setting new standards for yacht design and construction. This is a yacht for the explorer who demands perfection and quality with an ability to enjoy life to the fullest.

Heesen launches 44-meter "Lady L" megayacht​

The latest Heesen luxury yacht has been launched today by the Dutch yacht manufacturer. She is the 44-meter "Lady L" YN 15944, known before as 'Project Zentric'. Heesen announced back in mid-November that Project Zentric had been sold and to pass that cusp of success, she has been launched! Lady L is now the eighth 44-meter yacht by Heesen. The first vessel (YN 13644 MY "Sedation") was launched back in 2007.

YN 15944 (Lady L) was the third contract signed in 2011 and in such an economic climate this demonstrates that there will always be a market for superb quality and technical excellence, both qualities that this Dutch superyacht builder excels in. And by acquiring a yacht already under construction, there is no extended lead-time.

Hull 2 of Codecasa's 'Vintage' 42-meter series​

Italian yacht manufacturer Codecasa Yachts is well underway with the construction of the second hull of their 'Vintage' 42-meter line. In fact the second hull, F.75 is currently outfitting and expected to launch in 2012.

Ten guests are included in the sleeping accommodation of a Master, two doubles and a twin. The seven crew will sleep in three twin and one captain's cabin. Technically speaking F.75 is expected to run on dual CAT engines, 3512B's to be precise.

Top speed is anticipated to be 17-knots. A 4,000 nautical mile range at 11-knots can be extracted from her 60,000 LT capacity fuel oil tanks. She is being built in steel and aluminum and is MCA compliant as well as classed under Lloyds Register...

Update on the Moonen 100' Explorer​

Moonen Shipyards in the Netherlands is making excellent progress with the construction of a long distance explorer-type yacht. The all-new Vripack designed Moonen 100 is a robust expedition-style vessel that also benefits from exceptionally smooth lines. Combining major fuel efficiencies with comprehensive live aboard facilities, so this compact Explorer will allow her owners – who are extensively involved in the build - to truly travel the world in exceptional comfort.

Because the Moonen 100 will travel exceptionally long distances, Vripack Naval Architects designed her with high levels of fuel-efficiency that increase the range, reduce costs and minimize the yacht’s environmental impact. This has been achieved by an efficient hull shape, bulbous bow, sophisticated weight-saving measures, and highly efficient propellers and engines giving her a range of 5,000 Nm at 10 knots...

Trinity Yachts 63.40-meter superyacht​

U.S yacht builder Trinity Yachts is working on a 63.40-meter superyacht. The vessel is currently in the outfitting stages under build number T058. The near 210-foot long new yacht has been built in all aluminum, both superstructure and hull and classed ABS.

She is likely to be run by twin MTU 16V 4000 M90 engines and has classification to ABS Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service, AMS and is also MCA Compliant. She spreads over four decks with an open-air sun deck. Trinity Yachts dealt with the Naval Architecture and the interior hosts cabins for twelve guests in what appears to be six cabins, four doubles, a VIP and a Master. Launching is expected to be in 2012.

Sunseeker building 155-foot superyacht​

Sunseeker's new flagship tri-deck 155 Yacht is now in build, and the first is due to launch in 2014. With a 4500 nautical mile range, this is the first ever semi-displacement, round bilge and long keel hull from Sunseeker. The 155 Yacht takes the concept of series building with personal customization a step further than others, the modular composite build methodology virtually allowing owners a free hand, not just in the interior but also in the design of the actual superstructure. With a top speed of up to 26 knots the 155 Yacht will accommodate up to 12 guests and 10 crew members.

Provision for 60,000 LT of fuel has been made in four tanks while 11,000 LT in two tanks are for fresh water. Some quick dimensions include an overall length of 47.25-meters, beam just under 10-meters (9.40) and maximum draft of 2.66-meters...

Sunseeker debuts 28-meter sport yacht ​

UK yacht builder Sunseeker officially unveiled their 28-meter sport yacht at the London Boat Show. The vessel made its debut at the show on Friday the 6th of January. She made her grand world debut with a stunning performance by the group Asteria onboard. Specially invited guest Tamara Ecclestone made an appearance as well. Additionally, the ceremonial cutting of the ribbon was done by Sunseeker's President and Founder Mr. Robert Braithwaite.

Reaching new heights in the design and use of ultra modern materials has given rise to this extraordinary motoryacht. With its revolutionary use of space, incorporating full height and wrap around glazing, the vast saloon will be the centre of this masterpiece. With a range of cabin plans this yacht allows for adaptation to suit client needs but will always deliver the expected Sunseeker “wind in the hair” performance...

OysterMarine secure new contracts at London Boat Show​

The London Boat Show is currently underway (January 6-15, 2011) and already Oyster are singing praises with the acquisition of two new contracts for the Oyster 625-11 and Oyster 54-21. This is a great start to the New Year just as the London Boat Show opens, and brings the value of Oyster's order book, for contracts signed in the last 24 months, to nearly £80m plus £25m of Superyacht Contracts. Queens Yachts complete 86-foot flysport yacht​

The new Queens 86’ has been designed by Architects Vienna & Locarno of the TDF Studio in Milan, with the support of the technical staff of Queens Yachts, and built by Flag Marine shipyard in collaboration with the owner and his staff. It set off for the sea in July 2011 from Cala de’ Medici in Rosignano (Livorno).

Queens 86’ Fly Sport is the flagship of Queens Yachts which, in occasion of this important project, has concretized the synergy with Flag Marine, Tuscanian shipyard with over 30 years of experience. From this cooperation, a high- performance, original, elegant yacht was born. Palumbo Napoli 200' Explorer yacht​

She is powered by a pair of MTU 12V 4000 M63 engines that will run at 1800 rpm. This 200-foot Columbus brand luxury yacht will reach a maximum speed of 17 knots and comfortably cruise at 16 knots. Her beam is of 10.20-meters, her draft of 3.30-meters and of course her length is 60-meters over all.

The 752-tonne vessel at full load displacement will run on 130,000-liters of fuel with ample tank storage for 28,000-liters of fresh water. She has a range at high cruising speed, over 3,000 nautical miles at 16-knots. Dial back to 13-knots and that increase to 5,500 nautical miles.

Special features on either end of the boat includes a helipad located on the bow and a large infinity edge pool on the very aft. The vessel's facilities are spread throughout its four decks with plenty of deck space on the aft main deck surrounding the main pool...

New Heesen 50-meter 'Project Ventura' superyacht sold​

YN 16050 at Heesen has been sold, she is the third hull in the 50-meter all-aluminum class of yachts by the Dutch builder. The vessel is Project Ventura and is already in construction. It is this very fact that stood out to the owner by acquiring a yacht that is already in-build without having long wait times.

Frank Laupman of Omega Architects is on the exterior design while Heesen in association with Van Oossanen Associates has worked with all things Naval Architecture. The new owner with their inputs in conjunction with well-noted Italian designer Francesco Paszkowski are responsible for the interior design on Project Ventura.

The basis for the interior is pinned on two contrasting tones from woods. A dark polished ebony make up the parquet floors as well as furniture while a whitened oak provides the contrast on panelling...

85’ Burger; a familiar design with modern twist ​

Burger Boat Company, a venerable shipyard for over 130 years teams up with Vripack to create a modern but still classic motor yacht, the 85’ RPH Burger.

Vripack carefully studied the signature of Burger Boat Company and combined it with the very latest innovations in techniques. This melting pot brings back the classic Burger design and gives it a modern twist. Designer Robin de Vries from Vripack’s Design Studio says, “We had to go back to the designing roots of a typical Burger Boat and reconsider its formula in an atmosphere filled with creativity, questions and ideas. This has resulted in a stunning yacht with a recognizable design wearing a modern jacket”.

As the Burger boats have a refined classical taste, our design studio paid a lot of attention to various classic exterior details and gave this full aluminum oceangoing family yacht a couple of special features...

Canados 100 Flybridge motoryacht​

The first hull of the Canados 100 Flybridge series is currently under construction by Canados. She is a radically designed vessel high on exterior styling thanks to the work of Carlo Galeazzi. One of the features that stand out to the spectator is the purposeful replacement of hull portholes or vertical windows by modern horizonal slat-like designed windows.

The window-theme continues up to the superstructure with extensive use and likely a view to the ocean will be realized. The interior accommodation is laid out in four or five cabins therefore suggesting that eight to ten guest sleeping. On this design there are plenty areas on the exterior for relaxing and socialization.

On the bow, there is a social area with tables, comfortable built-in seating and sunpad this giving perfect views to the changing vistas. On the flybridge there is even more built-in seating and space aft for loungers...

Gulf Craft launch hull 5 of Majesty 121 series​

The latest unit in the Majesty 121-foot series has been launched by Gulf Craft. She is the fifth unit in the series and sports an all-white paint tone with colbalt blue-like accent colour. Like her sisters, she is just about 37-meters long with a beam of 7.54-meters and a draft that is a mere 1.85-meters.

The fifth hull is made in FRP materials and run by a pair MTU 16V 2,000 M93 diesel engines. Her speed is around 25-knots with a range of 900 miles. On the inside, her accommodation is set out in five cabins for ten guests. Three crew cabins exist for seven crew.

Codecasa 50-meter Express yacht​

Sleek lookin' bullet...an apt phrase for the Codecasa 50-meter sports yacht. A light displacement top speed of 26-knots should get your attention. 3 MTU 16V 2000 M94 engine with 2600 horse power each running at 2450RPM are under the 'hood'. Connected to them are two KaMeWa Water Jets mod. 80 S III with a Booster KaMeWa. mod. 71 B III along the centerline.

Cruising speed is estimated at 18-knots with a 1,000-nautical mile range at that speed. 45,000 LT capacity tanks are ready to be filled with fuel. She is sleek but her interior can accommodate twelve guests in six cabins. The break down in accommodation reads a double master stateroom, a double VIP, a double cabin and three twins. Cabins for the crew include four twin and captain's double cabin...

Bolici 160-foot megayacht​

Bolici 160 Alloy has very ambitious goals: provide the owner and guests with an unmatched yachting experience, primarily in terms of comfort and safety. The 160 Alloy is a semi-displacement hull with fast ocean crossing capacity. Interior space is enhanced by the natural light flow improving the quality of life on board, which until now was mainly available on larger yachts.

The Fly Deck (Upperdeck) is partially under the sun and it is arranged with ample dining area, bathrooms, side terraces, storage compartments and the helm station. Under the sun, on the fly deck, a sunbathing area fulfils the need of all guests...

Aicon Yachts Navetta 110' megayacht​

This is the Aicon Navetta 110 motoryacht. It has a length of 33.43-meters, 7.60-meter BOA and 1.70-meters draft. Twin CAT C32 ACERT engines with just over 2,300 horse power combined output push this 110-foot yacht to a top speed of 18-knots.

On the inside, there are two double cabins and two twin guest cabins on the lower deck and forward on the main deck there is a full-beam master stateroom, all for ten persons. In addition to the master being full-beam there are fold-down balconies. Even outside the main saloon on the side decks the bulwarks fold down to provide a better view outward.

The vessel is made in GRP materials and comes in at around 155-tonnes. Her toy department is summed up with a main tender stored in an aft garage. Up on the highest deck, a jacuzzi can be found as well as a small bar area...

Nordhavn N60 (#65) delivered in time for Christmas​

Nordhavn 60 #65 was shipped out from Xiamen South Coast Marine. She was bound for Seattle and was scheduled to launch on December 25th. The N60 is based on the proven Nordhavn 55 platform, which is one of the best selling yachts in the fleet.

The N60 gives owners an additional 5 feet of space in the cockpit and lazarette, allowing more room for activities like diving, fishing and dockside parties with family and friends. The longer cockpit also allows the boat deck to be extended for a larger tender and more room for sea kayaks, jet skis and other toys. An additional benefit is a speed gain of about a third of a knot and an improvement in range thanks to the longer waterline of the N60.

Like the popular N55, the N60 is available in single or twin-engine configurations along with an optional additional fuel tank for additional range...

Nordhavn launches 76' "Sirius" ​

The latest Nordhavn 76 was launched at Ta Shing on December 4th, 2011. This is hull #20 in the series. N7620, which is being called “Sirius”, will be shipped and delivered to her European owners in Dana Point, California. “Sirius” will have 4 staterooms and 5 heads. The interior is teak wood with a 60% gloss varnish.

One unique item on this boat is the extended exterior mid deck; this deck was extended by almost 7-feet and will be used as an entertainment area. It is equipped with a settee, high-low table, BBQ and drinks refrigerator. The machinery configuration is a single MTU Series 60 535hp engine that is raw water cooled and wet exhaust. The owners are very excited to take delivery and start using her. Cruising plans so far include Mexico, Alaska and the South Pacific...
