90-meter "Illusion" superyacht under construction
Work has started on a 90-meter superyacht in China. She was designed under the name Project "Illusion" with the design firm being Rainsford Mann Design. The design originally started as an 88-meter superyacht but the global economic crisis halted the completion of the design in 2007.
However, when the slow recovery to the world economy started, the design was completed and emerged as a 90-meter. Building commenced in essence at the end of 2010. The design according to Rainsford Mann Design has its cues from a high-end vehicle in the automotive industry, the Rolls Royce.
Time spent studying various Rolls Royce models allowed the design firm to incorporate the car design into the yacht design thereby capturing the ethos of the design. Not surprisingly the engine-package is by a pair of 3,000 horse power Rolls Royce diesels providing an envisioned top speed between 18 and 20-knots...
Construction starts on Dubois-Designed Feadship 46-meter megayacht
Design number 386 at Dubois Naval Architects got underway in construction recently at the Feadship De Vries yard. Design number 386 is a sleek 46-meter megayacht with cutting-edge and current design aspects.
The vessel's interior has been designed by world renown firm Redman Whiteley Dixon while the design is by Dubois Naval Architects. The keel laying ceremony for design 368 took place yesterday at De Vries Shipyard. Malcolm McKeon of Dubois Naval Architects began the weld on the 46m motoryacht now in build at Feadship.
Now in build for a launch in 2013, she has an efficient, semi-displacement hull with a long waterline, featuring full-length side decks and glazed side panels in the bulwarks to give the owner’s cabin uninterrupted views. The big fixed hardtop with sliding side screens is a signature feature, along with huge hull windows for the four guest cabins below...
Balk Shipyard launches 36.4-meter "Lars" Explorer
During the weekend Balk Shipyard re-launched the newly re-designed Explorer yacht 36.4-meter "Lars". She bears new design by Felix Buytendijk inside and out. This vessel started life as a tug built in 1995, however, since then and more recently has been converted into a rugged luxury yacht platform.
The yacht now goes by the name Lars and represented into a platform that offers significant range for her size. Her range can be just under 6,500 nautical miles and lesser range of 3,500 nautical miles. A new CAT marine engine has been installed.
Other features added to Lars in the major transformation included integrated swim platform, redesigned superstructure that shows off a new sundeck. Additional spaces are three cabins for guests and a master stateroom for the owner, dining area, fitness area, lounge and saloon. Accommodation is also set out for five crew members...
ISA's 41-meter 'Classic' yacht
The new 41-meter 'Classic' yacht by ISA has been born out of the 39-meter platform. She is spread over three decks and is a displacement motor yacht. Like the others in the new series developed by ISA she is to be built in steel and aluminum with design by Andrea Vallicelli.
Four guest cabins are on hand to sleep guests in with the owner in their master suite to round out the acommodation for ten. This new vessel is currently under construction and will be launched in early Summer 2013. She is to be driven by a pair of CAT C-18s with top speed expected to be 14-knots...
ISA's 66-meter 'Granturismo' superyacht
ISA's new 66-meter 'Granturismo' has been developed from the 65-meter GT platform. The full displacement custom superyacht is the first model in the newly launched GT range. She is a four-deck luxury yacht to be built in steel and aluminum.
Accommodation will be in six cabins and staterooms. The spacious master stateroom and five other guest cabins for twelve guests overall exist for their accommodation. The 66-meter features design by Andrea Vallicelli.
Top speed via twin CAT engines will be 18-knots with a dialed-back cruising speed of 16-knots. The aggressive plum bow and her refined and sleek aft lines will make her an ICON YACHT in her segment. Delivery of the ISA 66M GT is expected in early Summer 2014...
Amels launch second LE212 "Sea Rhapsody" superyacht
Dutch yacht manufacturer Amels starts the new year with a major launch. She is the second hull in the Limited Edition 212 series called "Sea Rhapsody". The near 65-meter long yacht boats a beam of 11.88-meters and a draft at full load of 3.85-meters.
Sea Rhapsody is built in steel and aluminum, weighing in at near 1,503-tonnes. She is Lloyds Register as well as MCA compliant with the ability to carry up to fourteen guests and sixteen crew members. This high-volume superyacht has Naval Architecture by Amels with design by Tim Heywood Designs.
She is a twin-screw displacement yacht with top speed in the region of 17-knots and cruising at 13-knots. The range is expected to be 5,000 nautical miles with 155,000 capacity fuel tanks onboard. Just as a reminder, this hull is 6502. The first hull in the series was 6501, christened as "Imagine".

ISA 54-meter Project 'Panorama' superyacht
Italian yacht builder ISA unveiled a number of new models recently, the 54-meter project 'Panorama' is one of these new models. The sale of this new model materialized thanks to Fernando Nicholson of Camper Nicholson and so this new luxury yacht is currently in-build for delivery in Summer 2014.
Panorama is a custom steel and aluminum displacement superyacht designed by Horacio Bozzo with interior design by Studio Massari. The new yacht bears numerous features inside and out. Starting with the owner's deck, there is a balcony that is accessible from their stateroom. Additionally, there is a large aft deck terrace.
Foldable bulwarks exist down on the main deck in the area of the main saloon to provide undisturbed views to the exterior. All guest decks are connected via a glass elevator and this is inclusive of service to the flybridge...
Dubois designed 46-meter Sloop for Vitters
Last year we informed you about a new sloop that is in build at the moment for Vitters shipyard. If you don't know who Vitters is as yet, they are the Dutch yacht builder responsible for outstanding sailing yachts like "Marie", "LadyB", "Sarissa", "Adele", "Nirvana" and so on.
Additionally they have their hands on a new project, a 46-meter performance cruising sloop that has been designed by Dubois Naval Architects. This aluminium performance cruiser with hull number 3067 will carry a powerful rig, including a 62-meter TPT* (Thin Ply Technology) laminated carbon mast ensuring an optimized weight and strength ratio. Also her fully tank tested hull shape, lifting keel and sleek profile are signs of the performance-focus of this custom yacht.

Jade Yachts 120' Expedition
This new luxury vessel is said to be on course for 2013. She is a 36.57-meter expedition-styled yacht being built in steel and aluminum. The engine package will likely be a pair of MAN D2842LE410 engines.
Top speed is expected to be 12.5-knots with cruising at 10-knots and having a fuel capacity of 40,000 LT. The Jade 120 will displace around 274-tonnes. The MCA compliant vessel will be sleeping ten guests in five cabins. The stanard The standard veneer will be Oak ,Walnut, Sapei Li, or Teak done with a satin finish in the guest cabins. However, there is the option of having high-gloss finish.
Seven crew members will be onboard to take care of the operation of the Jade 120. She has an overall beam of 8.30-meters and a draft of 2.5-meters...
CMN 'ONE' superyacht
A new concept-type design called 'ONE' surfaces from the French yacht builder CMN yachts. She is a sleek and sharp with well-balanced lines from stem to stern. The bow is vertical to slice through the water effortlessly.
Quick features that are readily seen on the design are the fold-down doors in the hull for a beach club setting at the rear of the hull and a further private terrace on the water midships. The bow is longer with the superstructure set a bit farther aft. This allowed for an open and uncluttered bow that was perfect for a helipad platform.
Other features onboard ONE include a slender pool on the forward end of the sun deck with beautifully shaped and arranged sunpadded region. On the other end, to the aft there are comfortable outdoor sofas served by tables for quiet chats and relaxation. In addition, Project ONE yacht proposes a massage room, a sauna, a hammam as well as a wine cellar...
Westport 112' "Ubiquitous" completed
One of the latest hulls from the Westport 112' line has been completed. She is called "Ubiquitous" and is hull 7745 and was very recently spotted transiting the Panama Canal.
The interior arrangement offers are luxurious, private and comfortable, whether socializing at dockside or at a remote anchorage. She sleeps eight in four ensuite staterooms. There are approximately 5-crew members that will serve onboard.
Westport 112s usually carry twin MTU 16V 2000 engines and her top speed can be estimated to be about 25-knots. A range of 2,500 miles at 12-knots is handy. Brief dimensions are 112-feet LOA, 23.9-feet BOA and a draft of 5.6-feet.

Ocea's Classic 115-foot Explorer megayacht
Ocea does not only offer commuter-styled yachts but also classicly styled yachts in various sizes between 72-feet and 115-feet, the 115' naturally being at the top of the range.
Naval Architecture is by the Joubert/Nivelt team. The 255-tonne classically designed yacht has an LOA of 35-meters, beam of 8.40-meters and draft of 2.40-meters, just under 8-feet. Ten guests are in five cabins with a crew capacity between seven and eight.

Intec Marine 90-foot 'green' yacht
Guido de Groot is behind the design of this 90-foot 'next generation' luxury yacht. Efficiency is at the helm of this design with a number of features to reduce the yacht's impact on the environment so much so that she will have RINA's marine green star design certificate.
The Intec Marine 90 is the first yacht of a series of energy efficient next generation yachts with hybrid propulsion designed by Guido de Groot. Besides it's energy efficiency, the yacht will emit lower noise levels and lower emissions of NOX and CO2. It has been developed in a joint effort with San Diego based naval architect Doug Sharp. A lot of special care for the environmental concerns has been taken into consideration in the design, the construction and the operation of the yacht.

Ocea Commuter 170' superyacht
French company Ocea, manufacturer of the famed commuter-styled yachts tops off its range with the Commuter 170'. She is the current largest vessel in the commuter range and is really an extension of the Commuter 155. You would remember the first Ocea Commuter 155 launched last year and was christened as "Elisabet".
The enlargened version in the Commuter 170, houses extra interior volume and extended deck. She takes Naval Architecture from Joubert/Nivelt and is certified Lloyd’s Register and MCA. Principle dimensions indicate an LOA of 52-meters, a beam of 9.40-meters and a skinny draft of 2.50-meters.
Dual 1,600 horse power engines will run this 170-foot yacht to 18-knots top speed. 55,000 LT capacity tanks offer enough fuel for an impressive 4,500 nautical mile range at 10-knots. The 320-tonne vessel will be carrying twelve guests in six staterooms with twelve crew...
Trinity Yachts launch 50-meter superyacht "Tsumat"
United States yacht builder Trinity Yachts finished 2011 well and they have started 2012 in similar fashion. They have launched their latest yacht built under hull ID T057. She is a 50-meter superyacht designed by Trinity Yachts themselves.
Her name is "Tsumat" and is a tri-deck all aluminum superyacht. She is powered by a pair of CAT 3516B-HD engines each with 3,384 horse power. Top speed from this engine package is expected to be around 22.5-knots. Tsumat has been classed as follows; ABS Maltese Cross A1 Yachting Service, AMS and MCA compliance.
A look at her plans suggest that she has accommodation for ten guests. On the forward end of the main deck is the Master Suite, taking advantage of the panoramic windows that we have grown accustomed to by Trinity Yachts. On the lower deck, there are two mirror double cabins on either side of the centerline...
Heesen's 65-meter FDHF superyacht hull and superstructure joined
A milestone has been reached in the construction of the first hull in Heesen's 65-meter Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) series. The hull and superstructure of YN 16465 are now joined together to form the shell of the yacht.
The mating of the two structures happened late last year in December. YN 16465 is expected to be completed by June 2013. A quick look at some of the stand out features of the 65-meter, according to Heesen she will have a top speed of 27-knots with a range of 4,200 nautical miles. She'll have five gyro-stabilizers, a touch-and-go heli-pad, beach club, large swim platform, 6 cabin layout, main deck master and upper deck VIP as well as Forward gull-wing tender garage.
Naval Architecture has been done by Van Oossanen Naval Architects b.v. while the design has been penned by Omega Architects. Bannenberg and Rowell are on the interior design...
First 26-meter 'WallyAce' nearing completion
Different? Definitely. She is simple yet interesting to look at. The design teased us in the form of renderings and now she is coming alive in the form of a real yacht. Coming soon, the first hull in the 26-meter 'WallyAce' series will be launched. The first hull is in the final build stages and will soon be launched.
The WallyAce has several unique features for such a small vessel. For starters, there is a large master stateroom that is situated aft in the hull. The bed is oriented to the aft to face the wall of windows that provide stunning views from the stern of the WallyAce. Accommodation overall is for six to eight guests and four crew members.
There is a garage large enough to host a 6-meter tender and toys. Superior deck spaces blend seamlessly with the large glass-walled saloon. She has a sculpted design and whisper-quiet engines for efficient passage...
Heesen announces delivery of 55-meter "Serenity" superyacht
Heesen Yachts has delivered its largest displacement vessel to date. MY "Serenity", launched last December in Oss the Netherlands has been intensively tested in the rough waters of the North Sea and its delivery has been recently completed.

The newest sale for U.S yacht manufacturer Palmer Johnson recently materialized. She is a 65.5-meter superyacht from their large Sport Yacht line. Palmer Johnson describes the series as being...fierce and feminine, this magnificent Sport Yacht is the largest beauty to expand the Series. The vessel is currently known as Project "Stimulus".
Project Stimulus was sold through ***** Yacht and Ship and represents the largest yacht sold for 2012 thus far. Additionally she is another successful sale for Palmer Johnson through them having had multiple new sales in the last few years.

OceAnco launch 88.5-meter 'Y707' superyacht
World renowned Dutch superyacht manufacturer OceAnco have just launched their first yacht of 2012 and their latest yacht overall. She is the massive 88.50-meter superyacht built under the hull designation Y707 at OceAnco. Naval Architecture of Y707 has been shared between OceAnco themselves and Azure. The smooth and balanced exterior lines are the work of Sam Sorgiovanni. The interior is also by Sorgiovanni.
Y707 has been constructed in steel and aluminum featuring accommodation for the owner in 1 X Master Suite that includes a jacuzzi on the private exterior deck. There is also 1 X VIP-type suite boasting his and hers ensuite bathrooms as well as a lounge and finally four further VIP-type double guest cabins exist.
