YachtForums: We Know Big Boats!
The Westport 130' Trideck was originally introduced, to much acclaim, at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show in 2001. Since then, it has proven to be a solid, stable platform from which engineers have continued to amass information, further refining subsequent builds... some 28 of them to be exact!
The new Westport 130' benefits from the knowledge accrued in producing multiple reiterations of the breed, but with an added bonus; it's now the biggest bow-rider ever built! With an all new view, perched upon a decade of ingenuity, come aboard with us for a full YF review.....

Van Geest Design 60-meter Dhow superyacht
Dutch yacht designers Van Geest Design recently presented a new design for a 60-meter superyacht taking inspiration from the tradition Dhow. The Dhow design features two deck-houses where much of the yacht's arrangement is contained. The lower deck holds accommodation as well for the crew.
The aft deck house hosts owners quarters and areas for activity. The main deck house, forward, encloses the bridge and a saloon with lounge along with dining areas. Additionally, to the aft of this deck house is a cozy area on the outside with L-shaped seating on either side of the centerline. As if this was not enough, guests will enjoy further space on the roof of the main deck house.
Interesting to note is the sail plan of the vessel, which keeps the Dhow theme alive. The plan has been developed in conjunction with Formula Marine...

Imaginocean Yacht Design and C.Way collaborate on 47M megayacht design
Even at the larger end of the spectrum, owners are looking for improved efficiency. So the designers created a longer, lower platform that still remains under the 500GT limit. The longer waterline length allows for higher displacement speeds, with lower fuel consumption; whilst reducing the height improves stability. The motion is more comfortable, with less reliance on active stabilization and the yacht is simply more pleasant to be aboard.
The result is a dramatic looking yacht where indoor/outdoor living is the driving force behind the design. There are a variety of spaces that open up to give a connection to the sea that is often missing in larger yachts...
New design for Dashew FPB97' cruising yacht unveiled
Dashew Offshore is well known for their exploits in offshore cruising yachts. Their latest offering is a 97-foot model that was born out of a need for a yacht that was economical to run and that was on the threshold of being large enough for a couple to operate.

The range on the new FPB97 has been projected at 5,000 nautical miles at 11.5-knots. She will also have the capability to right herself if capsized. The 97-foot yacht will feature a lower carbon footprint than usual especially at anchor being independent of fossil fuel use while there...

Inace launches 36.57-meter expedition yacht
Think about a "Far Far Away" expedition and you have the name of the newest launch from Inace Yachts, (hull 576). She is also the flagship of the company. The finish colors on the yacht are gray on the hull and white on the superstructure making for a normal but eye-catching scheme.
The design is by Luiz de Basto with distinctive play with different sloping angles around the superstructure. Forward sloping bridge windows add a nice design touch while complementing some of the other angles. "Far Far Away" has been built in both steel and aluminum with her superstructure set far back allowing for a long foredeck.
The foredeck is enables Far Far Away to stow two similar-sized tenders served by a robust crane. The yacht isn't a speedster so a comfortable top speed of 13-knots has been estimated using her dual CAT marine engines. She is an expedition yacht and she is meant to be efficient...
