Custom Line launches third 124-foot megayacht
Recently, Italian brand Custom Line launched the third unit in their 124-foot series. This new nearly 38-meter megayacht has been constructed in GRP materials to a design by Gianni Zuccon. Zuccon also materialized the interior design work.
On the interior, up to ten guests are accommodated in a lavish and luxurious atmosphere where five cabins await. This light motoryacht will get you around at 27-knots if you push her twin MTUs that can generate just over 3,500 horse power each...
ADM Kiel launches 73-meter superyacht "Plan B"
One of the more talked about and anticipated superyachts from the ADM group for this year has been launched. A 73-meter superyacht built under the yard number 422 has now left her dry dock and is floating alongside in preparation for sea trials and other finalizing works.
Although a name isn't visible on the yacht's structure, the name has been confirmed through her AIS transponder as "Plan B". Plan B bears both exterior and interior design work by German firm FOCUS Yacht Design. The 73-meter steel and aluminum superyacht's exterior design is modern and aggressive. Mariotti Yachts launch 54-meter superyacht "RAHIL"
Mariotti Yacht finally launched the long awaited 54-meter Luca Dini designed superyacht "RAHIL". She was apparently launched in mid-February and is a sistership to the 2008-built "Sea Force One". Although a sistership RAHIL has quite a few distinguishing features including a more sedate and elegant paint scheme with a light-grey hull and white superstructure. The white mast is also different because it is vertical and not raked as on Sea Force One.
RAHIL is carrying twin CAT engines with the ability to power her to 17.5-knots. The steel hull and aluminum superstructure offers sturdy construction and a cruising speed of 15-knots was calculated. The new yacht was seen at the Genoa Charter Show...
PerMARE launches Amer 116 "Il Gattopardo"
PerMARE launches a new Amer 116 called "Il Gattopardo". Il Gattopardo is powered by dual CAT C32 engines, allowing her to attain a top-end speed of 27-knots and cruising speed of 22-knots. The 116-foot yacht boasts a maximum beam is of 7.42-meters and fully loaded draft of 2.30-meters.
Three cabins have been provided for guests and three for the crew as well. Engineered by Massimo Verme, the Il Gattopardo superyacht boasts a comfortable and luxurious interior done by CGA Architects...
Horizon RP97 "Summer Wind" on the verge of completion
The brand-new Horizon RP97 "Summer Wind" successfully completed her sea trial in Kaohsiung harbor in April and is now ready for delivery to her Australian owner. Powered by twin CAT 1600bhp engines, Summer Wind has a cruising speed of 16-knots and top speed of 22-knots at full load. Thanks to the advanced technology Horizon utilizes to control weight, Summer Wind is lighter than previous RP97 models – even though she has plenty of sound insulation material – and she runs 2 knots faster.
The stylish exterior of the RP97 Summer Wind was designed by well-known Sweden designer John Lindblohm, and her interior design was a collaborative effort between Horizon’s in-house design team and Nikki Parris from the owner’s selected Australian Design Company...
Codecasa unveils new 72-meter platform
Italian yard Codecasa is working on completing the 50-meter open sport yacht as well as the second hull in the Vintage series, hull F.75. However, in the background, the yard is working on developing a 72-meter platform from which a few designs have been drawn up.
The designs range from a vintage style and arrangement with straight bow to a modern a conventional styling with contemporary bow. The other design also has a straight bow but the styling of the superstructure is modern and sleek. While the designs are sharing a common 72-meter hull, the lay-out and arrangement are totally different from the other.
The conventional design with the contemporary bow features the largest pool on the aft end of the bridgedeck and wrapped on the foward end by a seven-seater bar. This design has provision for landing a helicopter on the bow. The other two designs have helipads on the aft decks...
Picchiotti Vitruvius 73-meter superyacht
The new Picchiotti Vitruvius 73-meter superyacht has reached a critical point in construction. The Vitruvius 73-meter is the third in a line of yachts from this brand. Recently she had been transported from where she was built at Perini Navi’s Turkish facility to Perini's La Spezia finishing facility.
She is being built under hull number C.2189 to a design by Philippe Briand. The interior is being brought to reality by Remi Tessier. Some quick features include accommodation for twelve guests and as many as twenty-two crew members. She will be driven via a diesel-electric package to two Azipods. The Flagship of the Vitruvius series will have a top speed of approximately 16.5-knots with a range of 7,500 nautical miles at 12-knots.
Other features onboard are a gymnasium, sauna and spa that cover the wellness aspect of living onboard...
San Lorenzo launches 40-meter "111" megayacht
Another megayacht recently launched from the San Lorenzo facilities and she is a member of the 40-meter Alloy family. Her name is given as "111" and represents the seventh unit of the line that is characterized in part by gull-wing doors on the superstructure.
As per every San Lorenzo megayacht, the latest 40-meter Alloy 111 is manufactured to reflect the owners wants and needs in the yacht. They built a unique masterpiece realized according to his style and requirements, always different one each other and personalized by the use of some of the rarest and most precious materials.
For example, in the bathrooms exclusive limestone Malyat and for the furniture prestigious woods such as olive ash and burned oak. 111 will be delivered to her owner for use in the upcoming Summer yachting season...
SW 102 Ds hull n° 1 "Almagores II" has been launched
The first unit of the brand new SW 102 DS project, SY "Almagores II", has just been launched and christened in Cape Town. She was commissioned by an Italian owner, who has been a passionate sailor since ever. With Almagores II he came back to the sailing world after a temporary break with a power boat: he is confident Almagores II will finally match his desire of comfort with his passion for sailing.
Almagores II, designed by Nauta Yacht Design and Farr Yacht Design, will complete her sea trials in the Table Bay waters, and will leave South Africa to the Med, shortly. She will be officially presented as a world premiére during the forthcoming Monaco Yacht Show. "Atalante", SW 102 hull n° 2 is due for launch on December 2012...

Wally 50-meter sloop "Better Place" launches
The long awaited 50-meter Wally sailing vessel has now been brought into the open and now has her -nearly 68-meter- mast stepped. The stepping of the mast of "Better Place" occured at ISA's yard in Italy.
The exclusive 50-meter superyacht Better Place has been equipped with a four-spreader high modulus carbon mast, a Hall Oceanfurl boom – also the largest ever built by Hall, delivered by the New Zealand factory – and a unique mast collar to support all halyards and sheets.
Mounted on the spreaders stand 18 antennas for the ultimate monitoring and navigation systems. The mast stepping, carefully planned and supervised by Hall Med’s manager Andrea Merani, was smooth and neat, even if, with the boat on the hard, it was necessary to hoist the mast butt 12-meters high to feed the mast collar on the deck...
McConaghy Boats launch 42.5-meter "Adastra" Trimaran
During April, McConaghy Boats launched the radical-looking "Adastra", a 42.5-meter long Trimaran. She was built at McConaghy Boats Zhuhai Facility, China for a Hong Kong client for long range ocean voyaging. Designed by John Shuttleworth Design. Adastra takes the power trimaran concept further than has ever been attempted before, previous vessels like "Earthrace" and "Cable and Wireless" were stripped-out record-breaking machines.
Adastra's 16-meter beam creates a spacious saloon area on the main deck which offers superb views through a panoramic window and accommodates a lounge area, dining table, and navigation station. The aft deck has a sofa and bar area to port and a dining area to starboard, further aft of this there is space for a 4.9-meter tender and directly below is a garage which can store a 3.1-meter tender...
OceAnco completes 88.5-meter "Nirvana"
The owner(s) of the brand new superyacht built as Y-707 and christened as "Nirvana" have taken delivery of her. The pristine 88.5-meter superyacht left her builders and arrived at the International Yacht Club of Antibes (IYCA), France just two days ago. She took up slip between the "Dilbar" and "Tatoosh" and not far from another OceAnco build that she resembles in several ways, the "Anastasia".
Featuring six decks each with a private exterior area, a 7.5-meter swimming pool, as well as a helicopter landing pad on the sundeck, the 88.5-meter superyacht Nirvana easily sleeps twelve in six large and well-appointed staterooms. These include a master suite with office and private exterior deck area with jacuzzi, a VIP-type suite featuring a lounge and his & her bathrooms, along with four double VIP-type cabins.
She was constructed in steel for the hull and aluminium for the superstructure...
HJB completes 39.95-meter "Rainbow"
The J-class sailing yacht "Rainbow" has been completed by Holland Jachtbouw. The new vessel was only launched in February of this year and has been already handed over to her owner(s). Bearing the J-Class pennant number JH-2, she is one of the latest of this class to be completed.
Rainbow measures just under 40-meters and is 6.37-meters at her widest point on the hull and her fixed draft is 4.80-meters. Dykstra & Partners are responsible for most of her aspects design wise. The Naval Architecture, Design and Interior are by this studio.
Rainbow is built in aluminum with wooden-cladded deckhouse for the superstructure. Even though this vessel is an inspiration and almost a replica of the original America’s Cup winner of 1934 she features a modern superyacht interior that has been inspired by 1930s styling...
Heesen launches 47-meter "Lady Petra" superyacht
Dutch yacht manufacturer Heesen launched their latest yacht and recently christened her as "Lady Petra". The 47-meter yacht has been built for a repeat client, the founder and former owner of Heesen Yachts. If the name sounds nearly familiar that is because she is the successor to the owner's previous yacht, a 44-meter called "MY PETRA", now known as "Hayken", also a Heesen build.
The new 47-meter Lady Petra is the eighth 47-meter to be launched by Heesen to date. The boat's interior is by famed studio Bannenberg & Rowell while the general arrangement is by Omega Architects. Dickie Bannenberg of Bannenberg and Rowell Design commented: ‘Designing a yacht for someone who has built his shipyard into an industry-leading force is an honour and, at the same time, a great responsibility...
Alloy Yachts deliver 47-meter "Loretta Anne"
Alloy Yachts just delivered its largest motor yacht, the 47-meter "Loretta Anne" to their owner. Loretta Anne was built for a repeat client to Alloy. The new 47-meter yacht is the result of successful collaboration between Donald Starkey, responsible for the interior and Dubois Naval Architects, the designers.
Loretta Anne has the following classification; Lloyds Register of Shipping, *100 A1 SSC, Yacht Mono, G6, MCH, & LY2. Below decks, a pair of Caterpillar C32 'D' rated 1600 horse power engines propel her through the water.
On the inside, accommodation for guests is set out with the owner’s stateroom on the forward end of the main deck. Additionally, three double cabins host guests on the lower deck. There is the possibility of a fourth convertible cabin that is fitted out as a gymnasium...
EP148 "Polaris" nearing completion
Horizon recently launched and successfully sea tried the new EP148 Horizon "Polaris", which is the largest flagship built by Horizon as well as the largest BV Ice classed private yacht built in Asia. Measuring 148 feet in length, Polaris is built for any cruising destination with a steel hull, aluminum superstructure and bulbous bow, and her innovative design is the result of the collaborative efforts of the Horizon R&D team; U.S. designer J.C. Espinosa, and interior design consultant Birgit Schannese of Germany.

Yachting Developments launching 27.4-meter "Satu" in August
"Satu" is a 27.4-meter sportfishing luxury yacht that was originally built at VMYNZ. However, she was moved to Yachting Developments in New Zealand where she has been fitted out towards launching and completion.
Ullberg Yacht Design is responsible for the exterior design of Satu with her construction fleshed out in composite materials. On the other extreme, the interior has been designed by Robinson Marine and is described as contemporary. In terms of speed and performance, her top-end run is expected to be 33-knots using a pair of 2,400 horse power MTU engines. When launched in August she is expected to attend the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS) in October for her world debut...
49-meter Rossi Navi "Prince Shark" design
A new 49-meter superyacht is currently under construction at the Italian yard of Rossi Navi. She's hull FR027 at the yard and known as Project "Prince Shark". The yacht features a modern and aggressive exterior styling by Enrico Gobbi from the Italian design studio Team 4 Design.
Eleven crew members are expected onboard, as well as twelve guests. The interior will have a choice of natural elements that create a chiaroscuro effect enhanced by precious marbles that infuse this spectacular vessel with its own distinct, well-defined personality. A significant focus was placed on the lighting system to create settings that can enhance the available space to increase the well-being of guests...
New 76-meter design for Proteksan & Turquoise
A new superyacht design is on the drawing boards for Proteksan & Turquoise. The new vessel is on a 76-meter hull with a number of highlights and features. In the hull there is main tender storage in the aft where large shell doors open to allow launching and retrieval of those tenders and PWCs. Further tender storage is available on the bow, just aft of the helipad.
Moving towards the aft again there is a large waterfall pool on the aft of the main deck. This is not the only luxury water receptacle on the external decks on board. On the owners deck (upper deck) there is a jacuzzi on the open deck forward of the panoramic lounge. The bubbling jacuzzi is flanked by sunpads. Imagine there is another jacuzzi, this time on the forward end of the sun deck, that too having sun pads on either side...
