Latest 34-meter Leopard hull launches (hull 18)
At the start of August, the latest 34-meter express yacht from Leopard launched in Italy. This was the technical launch of the 18th hull in the 34-meter series by Leopard. This particular 34-meter yacht has an interior by a firm called Luxury Projects. On the other hand the vessel was built to satisfy the stipulations of Bureau Veritas.
A brief synopsis of the standard 34-meter Leopard says that the model is built in Kevlar composite and fiberglass. The design itself is by Andre Bacigalupo. All 100-tonnes of yacht are propelled by 2,400 horsepower engines tied to three hydrojet propellers. With the Leopard 34-meter, you are looking at a top speed near 45-knots...
Cantiere delle Marche delivers 82' explorer yacht "Furst 60"
In keeping with the explorer yacht theme, another yacht of the type has been recently delivered. This time, by Cantiere delle Marche, the new yacht is an 82-foot custom-built explorer called "Furst 60". The Italian yard CDM delivered the new yacht in July.
Furst 60 features a single Moteurs Baudouin engine for power. Additionally there is a special feature in an 'if all fails then take me home' system that will ensure you a trip back to port. Her dark hull contrasts with her white superstructure much like her small size takes on big weather conditions. A cool feature -literally- is the ability of one of the guest cabins to convert into cold or dry storage. The explorer yacht borrows her strong credentials in design from proven deep-sea tug-like platforms with her high bow and high bulwarks...
Cantieri Navali Chioggia Ocean King 88 explorer yacht "Irie Man"
The latest yacht from Cantieri Navali Chioggia (CNC) has been completed. She is an Ocean King 88-foot yacht called "Irie Man" built on a tug-like platform. Irie Man was built using steel in the construction of the hull and aluminum for the superstructure. The 88-foot long-range explorer yacht has a beam in the region of 8-meters and a comfortable draft of 2.40-meters.
The interior throughout is light and airy thanks to the tones and colours utilized. Whites and tans are balanced by brighter accents in the throw cushions and rugs in the comtemporary interior showcasing modern elements. Irie Man is now off too enjoy the world's oceans and destinations while highlighting that small explorer yachts are still popular...
NISI Yachts launches latest 24M motoryacht, 5th hull
The latest hull in the NISI 2400 series has been launched in China. The new hull represents the fifth 24-meter yacht by NISI. The new hull is another copper colour in paint finish with a contrasting white superstructure.
This new boat is expected to run at 30-knots top speed but don't expect her to have a jaw-dropping range. At 9-knots continuously she should be able to knock off 1,500 nautical miles. Cheoy Lee launches first Alpha 76 Flybridge express yacht
Just launched Hull #5033 number 1 of the Flybridge Alpha 76 series. 5033 is first put through dockside trials, where all systems are checked and re-checked for quality of operation. Once complete the boat is cleared for sea trials, where the vessel is put through its paces under full load. To her builders satisfaction 5033 has passed the sea trials with flying colors achieving 37.6-knots under full load! FAST BOAT!!!

50-meter "Nassima" launches at Acico Yachts
Last month, June 22nd YF kept you in the know as for the impending launch of a 50-meter superyacht that was under construction at Acico Yachts. She has been now successfully launched and in the water and bears the name "Nassima". She was launched on the 21st of July in the Netherlands.
The aluminum yacht has interior design by VDP Studio and Naval Architecture by Oliver van Meer. Nassima accommodates twelve guests in a master stateroom, a full-beam VIP-type cabin and four twin cabins on the lower deck.
Twin CAT 3512 marine diesels power Nassima to 18-knots with cruising 4-knots slower. An astounding range of 8,500+ nautical miles can be had dialed back to 10-knots consistently. This new yacht should be finished by next month and then make her public debut at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) in September...
Cantiere delle March inks order for Nauta Air 86' expedition yacht
Cantiere delle March recently recieved an order to build the first Nauta Air 86-foot long expedition. The new order comes from an Australian living in Asia and it helps their new build portfolio as it represents the seventh order in approximately a year for CDM.
The announcement for the all aluminum expedition yacht comes weeks after the launching of the second 86' Darwin class expedition yacht "Percheron". Interestingly, the new project is a customized version of the Nauta Air 80'. She is actually 86-feet long, slightly larger than the original model. An increased sun deck, customized interior arrangement with private entrance to the master suite are some of the new features.
The Nauta Air 86' two CAT engines with a top speed of 18-knots, cruising at 16 with a range of 2,000 nautical miles at 12-knots before refuelling...
Tansu Yachts launch 34-meter megayacht "Only Now"
In mid-November 2011, YF informed you of the existence of a new 34-meter project by Tansu Yachts that was in build called "Only Now". Now, Only Now has been launched and currently undergoing sea trials with delivery foreseen before the end of July 2012.
Naval Architecture is by Diana Yacht Design while the interior design is a collaboration between the yard's in-house team and the owner. Not surprisingly, she is constructed using cold-moulded wood technology. We can expect a top speed for 22-knots from her trials with cruising at around 18-knots all provided by her twin CAT engines.
On the inside, Only Now will be play host two six guests in two double cabins and a master suite. The modern interior will wow the owner's guests and if need be, the gymnasium can be converted into another cabin as it was designed to do.

SanLorenzo launches latest 46-meter Steel superyacht "Achilles"
Italian yacht builder San Lorenzo just launched their latest 46-meter Steel superyacht, bearing the name "Achilles". She is now the fourth vessel in the 46-meter Steel series since the first one was launched. As a reminder, "Lammouche" was the first in 2010, "Carol" in 2011 and "Reve D'Or" in later in 2011 as well.
The 2012 Achilles continues the series. She is designed by Viareggio Division Style a design department of SanLorenzo. Twin CAT engines will run her to an expected top speed of 17-knots. A range of 4,000 nautical miles at 12-knots is possible. She will be delivered this Summer and later displayed and debuted at the 2012 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS)...
First Classic 160' superyacht launches at Bilgin yachts
The Turkish yard Bilgin Yacht have now successfully launched another yacht. The first Classic 160-foot superyacht has been pre launched and she is indeed a stunner. The design is one that is timeless and from a golden classic era gone by and is sure to keep the classic craze alive. Despite appearing this way, the Bilgin 160-footer is as modern and state-of-the-art as any new superyacht roaming the world's oceans.
The Bilgin Classic 160, was built to RINA standards and has six staterooms onboard to sleep twelve guests in two twins and four doubles. The gentleman's yacht will boast the best in Turkish wood craftsmanship on the interior. This latest yacht will be put into the water at any moment and is available for sale asking 11.5-million Euros...
Superyacht Project 'Y-708' by OceAnco launches
The latest superyacht from Dutch custom superyacht manufacturer OceAnco has been launched. She was known as project 'Y-708' while in build and has been launched to be prepared for sea trials and finish work ahead of her delivery.
OceAnco pulled all information and photos relating to Y-708 from their website possibly indicating confidentiality for the owner. Her nameplates are installed on the sides of the yacht but as expected they are well covered. Her hull is a light grey much like in the renderings produced and features a light blue boot topping.
Some major features onboard the 708 like many of the preceeding OceAnco yachts in the 700 series include a large pool on the aft main deck with cascading steps towards the bathing platform. There isn't outright evidence of a helipad onboard unless the main pool transforms into a touch and go pad like "Alfa Nero" (Y-702)...
Hakvoort secures order for 61-meter superyacht
News has emerged that Hakvoort secured a contract to build a 61-meter superyacht. This will be the largest superyacht for the Dutch yacht builder that is supposed to be completed in 2015.
Not many details are available at the moment but we know she will have an LOA of just over 200-feet and will be able to carry twelve guests in six staterooms. We look forward to the successful completion of another quality vessel. Previous to the 61-meter project, the largest vessel announced was a highly stylish 55-meter superyacht with a fast displacement hull...
Ocean Alexander launches and sea trials OA82-foot motoryacht
The new Ocean Alexander 82-foot motoryacht is a success right from the start. Since launching, the new yacht has undergone sea trials with impressive (better-than-expected) results. Of note is the top end speed was originally calculated to be around low to mid 20-knots. The Ocean Alexander 82-footer surpassed that mark significantly during trials and under more real-world circumstances. The vessel was approximately 70% filled with fuel, 100% filled with water and had eleven persons onboard during the particular trials yet she registered a top speed of 28-knots!
The updated Ocean Alexander 82 Cockpit Motoryacht with twin MTU 1920HP engines, reached 28 knots during sea trials performed at the factory. The yacht ran with 70% fuel and 100% water, with 11 people on board, and a sea trial load of 73.5 tons. The acceleration was maximized to 2447 RPM in 29 seconds...
IAG sells 31.6M "Freedom" megayacht, currently in build
The Ensign Ship Brokers from Australia who has the dealership relation with IAG Yachts sold a 31.6m variation of the 31m motor yacht "Electra". With construction already underway, this version comes equipped with everything for luxury cruising. Fully fitted with Seakeeper gyro stabilizers, two jet skis and tender, four staterooms and three crew cabins, she’s destined to generate waves of pride for IAG and, of course, its new owner.
The Electra 100 megayacht carries a design by Andrea Nicolai and YD&AS who are the same team that worked on IAG's first megayacht the "Primadonna" (now "No bada Bees") that splashed back in 2010.

Wider announces the launch of its 10th 42 footer and organizes a special delivery by air to the final customer. Italian nautical company Wider, founded on a project designed by Tilli Antonellli, celebrates the launch of its 10th 42 footer which literally ….takes off! Indeed, the shipyard arranged for her to be transported by air, an extraordinary event on the luxury nautical scene, considering motoryachts are normally transported by land or sea.
The exceptional transportation occurred last week aboard an Antonov An-124, a four-engined freight plane of Volga-Dnepr Airlines and one of the largest cargo aircraft in the world, which landed in Falconara-Ancona specially to pick up Wider 42’ and transport her to her destination, in the Near East...
47-meter megayacht "Lady Dee" completed by Acico Yachts
Dutch Yacht manufacturer Acico Yachts, formerly Dutch Yacht Builders, attained another milestone with the successful delivery of another of their megayachts. She is the 47-meter "Lady Dee" with design by Dutch yacht design firm Cor D Rover. Acico are also expected to soon launch a slightly larger yacht with a near 50-meter LOA, expected to be called "Nassima".
Lady Dee was built under project name DYB47 and YF reported her launch but that occured and was lowkey with little media blitz. On the interior Lady Dee berths ten guests in five cabins. There is also room to host her approximate thirteen crew members. Lady Dee is now completed and sailing to new destinations. Acico now zooms their attention on the next build to launch, Nassima. She is expected to be displayed at the upcoming Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) in September 2012...

Perini Navi delivers 50-meter aluminum ketch
This yacht is the second vessel in the new 50 meter aluminum series and was launched on April 2nd, 2012. Hull C.2173, was designed by Perini Navi’s in-house naval architects in collaboration with New Zealander Ron Holland. The ketch sail plan, designed and built by the Perini Navi Group’s Mast Department, totals over 1,400 square meters and is handled through 11 reel captive winches. The main and mizzen masts measure 56.7m and a 43m respectively, and are in aluminum while the furling boom and spreaders are in carbon fiber.
The hull has an opening transom that becomes an ample beach platform. The 19’ main tender is housed under the fore deck in a flush tender well that also houses a catamaran that can be mounted for day sailing. The superstructure has been completely redesigned with two large skylights...
NED 70 launched by Dutch builders NED Yachts
Dutch Builders NED Yachts launched the Vripack designed NED 70. She is slender but powerful featuring the LDL principle. Designed according to LDL, in which LDL stands for Low Displacement Length. A modern word, but a principle that is at least one century old. This means that not the ships volume is essential, but the lines of the ship itself are leading in the design.
The all-aluminum NED 70 by Vripack has two guest cabins in the back of the ship. The owners cabin is situated in the front. The guest cabins are big, each with its own bathroom with a separated toilet and shower compartiment. All horizontal surfaces – including the floors – are finished in Corian. The saloon and the wheelhouse are located in the front part of the ship. This area on board is roomy and light. The position of the helmsman is central in the middle of the boat...
