Sunseeker completes and delivers 28-meter motor yacht "Zozo"
UK yacht builder Sunseeker completed and delivered a motoryacht from their 28-meter line. She was christened as "Zozo" and in fact she is the third 28-meter motoryacht from Sunseeker to be delivered in 2012 so far. She is only three months old and is already for sale asking 4.75 million pounds. Zozo features a balcony on the saloon, a jacuzzi and stabilizers. There is also room for eight guests in four staterooms.

Update on the 56.4-meter sailing ketch "Encore" by Alloy Yachts
One of the latest yachts under construction at top New Zealand yard Alloy Yachts is AY46, a fly-bridge sailing ketch. The vessel with an LOA of 56.4-meters or some 186.12-feet is to be the successor of another yacht they built a few years ago for the same owner. If the name "Mondango" sounds familiar, well this new yacht will be th sequel to her. In fact, most media outlets were refering to her as Mondango but it seems as though that her name will actually be "Encore", which isn't far off for a successor yacht...

Horizon Announces the Sale of New 115-foot Expedition Yacht to Singapore
The Horizon Group just sold a new Horizon EP series 115-foot expedition yacht, which is still under construction, to an owner in Singapore. The 115-foot long-range explorer yacht is scheduled to deliver to the new owner in March 2013 and will become the largest luxury yacht Horizon has delivered in the Singapore yacht market.

Heesen unveils new line of yachts at Monaco: 42M, 45M, 55M
Dutch mega and superyacht manufacturer Heesen, raised the curtain on a few new designs they have had in the works. The unveiling took place at last month’s Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) in the Principality of Monaco. Heesen’s Fast Displace Hull Form program has taken off and proof of that was with the introduction of the 65-meter FDHF Project, presented in 2010. She was sold very quickly after introduction and is currently under construction as Project ‘Omina’ with delivery expected in June 2013. However, there are three other models now in existence. There’s a 42-meter design, 45-meter as well as a 55-meter design...
2Oceans launch 75-foot expedition catamaran "Quo Vadis"
Designing this impressive expedition catamaran was a project that took 30 months and involved 1750 hours of design work, with three designers involved at various stages in drawing up the interiors, lines, structure and various mechanical details.
Accommodation is luxurious by expedition yacht standards, and at the same time comfortable and highly practical. The catamaran has ample accommodation and sleeps up to eight guests in four double cabins. Each cabin has its own spacious en-suite bathroom, with a heads and a shower. In addition, there are two crew cabins, accommodating three crew.
Aptly named "Quo Vadis", Open Ocean 750 Expedition Yacht is an impressive 75 foot catamaran, powered by two Cummins 228 kW/305 HP motors. It was custom designed by Du Toit Yacht Design for a seasoned game fisherman, and is stylish and luxurious as well as comfortable and functional...
Garcia Trawler 54-foot completed by Garcia Yachting
The first model of the Garcia Trawler 54 was launched in Cherbourg on July 30th. The launch of this fuel efficient trans-oceanic trawler is an important step for Garcia Yachting which now proposes motorized blue water cruising solutions in addition to ocean crossing sailboats, its traditional savoir-faire.
Within days, the Garcia Trawler 54 departed on its maiden voyage around the Iberic peninsula in order to be officially introduced in Cannes at the Festival de la Plaisance between September 11 and 16, 2012. Subsequently she will then undertake an Atlantic crossing on her own bottom to participate to several East Coast boat shows in the fall in the US.

37M Expedition yacht "Far Far Away" on the verge of delivery
In a few days, the 37-meter luxury expedition Inace yacht "Far Far Away" will leave her builders for Florida. Far Far Away was built by Inace Yachts in Brazil as hull number 576. She's not the fastest yacht but she has a significant 6,000-nautical mile range at 10-knots, top speed is at 13-knots.
The overall design of Far Far Away is by designer Luiz de Basto. On the interior, also by Luiz de Basto, contains guest accommodation in five cabins. Two doubles, two twins and a master stateroom account for the break down in guest accommodation. Delivery is set for October 3rd, 2012.

46.4m Dubois-designed motoryacht to commence build with Feadship
The second Dubois design to begin build with the Feadship yard this year, this stunning 46.4m motoryacht is for an existing client, in a contract which was brokered by Dubois Yachts. The fixed-keel megayacht amazingly will be capable of 5,500-nautical mile endurance at 10-knots. At 46.4-meter LOA, the beam is 9.00-meters with a slim draft of 2.25-meters.
This aluminium construction will feature a unique accommodation layout, with the entire upper deck given over to a private owner’s apartment. The owner’s cabin occupies the forward section behind a panoramic sweep of windows. The yacht also offers five guest cabins, three twin, a double and a VIP. This capable and luxurious yacht will achieve a top speed of 16.5 knots and is due for delivery in 2015.

110-meter superyacht "Equilibrium" by Sinot Design
Yet another new design comes from the recently concluded Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). It is a design from Sinot Design, a 110-meter superyacht called "Equilibrium". If the design looks even remotely familiar, think, the 88-meter "Musashi" by Feadship. According to Sinot... "with Equilibrium, we challenged ourselves to take a more radical direction without losing the eye for feasibility." He further comments...Equilibrium reflects the ‘balance between man, machine and nature’...
Maxi catamaran VPLP 110' launched at JFA
The latest yacht to launch from the French builders JFA is the new maxi VPLP 110-foot sailing catamaran. The name VPLP accompanies the yacht because Van Peteghem & Lauriot Prévost designed the vessel. At 33.5-meters LOA and over 14-meters BOA, she takes honours as being one of the largest luxury yacht catamarans built in carbon epoxy.
Eight guests are accommodated on the Cittolin Polli-designed interior. Not many details are available as yet on the new VPLP 110 maxi sailing catamaran as JFA is in a confidentiality agreement with the owner. We do not even know the name of the vessel. This latest vessel should be delivered to her owner in the Fall...
Moonen launches 42-meter megayacht "Sofia"
Moonen celebrated a significant launch recently and that was for the 42-meter megayacht "Sofia", a fully custom yacht catering to the whims of the desiring owner. Sofia is so custom a megayacht that as the project was being built the owner was still making changes and alterations to the build. You would remember the original project was extended a couple feet to it's current length to accommodate the owner's desire to have a three-person (two guests and captain) submarine onboard. The submarine itself is by U-Boat Worx. On the inside, entertainment will be top-notch with the extensive custom video server and custom multi-interface controls via Ipad for window treatments, lighting, interior control of the climate. If this wasn't enough, the interior of Sofia, like many other Moonen yachts is by the artful Art-Line Interiors...
San Lorenzo unveils new 42-meter Explorer
Italian yacht manufacturer San Lorenzo made a step further in diversifying their product offering to the public with the unveiling of a 42-meter Explorer megayacht. San Lorenzo is not known for expedition yachts but they have decided to enter that market segment based on the rising popularity for explorer yachts.
The new 42-meter expedition yacht will have a few ‘green’ features to help make its environmental footprint a little lighter. She is expected to be classified under ‘Green Plus’ with the ability to remain at anchor for up to two days without having to utilize the polluting generator sets. Additionally, they expect that the San Lorenzo EXP 42-meter will have long-range because of its high fuel efficiency –another environmentally friendly feature...
Newcruise Design show new yacht designs at MYS 2012
The German yacht design company Newcruise Design presented a few new designs at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). One of the designs is in the form of a luxury tug, in fact, it is called MY “Tug”. The other design is dubbed MY “Cube” and for good reason!
MY Tug is really a tug platform for exploring but doesn’t sacrifice the luxury appeal of yachting. Basically she’s an ocean-going tug with styling and amenities that softens the character of an otherwise rugged yacht. Sporting features to outfit her persona she would be the perfect yacht for the avid explorer. Bare in mind, this design comes in three variant sizes, 42-meter, 45-meter and 47-meter. This particular variant is the 45-meter yacht.
MY Tug has a heli pad on the aft upper deck for the yacht’s helicopter tender. Below the heli-pad is room to store the vessels’ RIB tenders (X2)...
JFA unveils 100’ Long Island sailing catamaran yacht at 2012 MYS
French builder JFA unveiled a new sailing catamaran design at the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS), 2012. The vessel comes in the form of a 100-foot Long Island sailing Cat. Now you would remember that at last year’s edition of the Monaco Yacht Show, JFA unveiled the Long Island 85-footer to much acclaim.
Marc Lombard is in on the design of the yacht with the Naval Architecture. The vessel would be built to Bureau Veritas and also be MCA Compliant. Stretching 31.55-meters long and having a handy footprint of 14.20-meters wide, one can imagine the space that is onboard this 100-foot design. Guest capacity is expected for eight so you can imagine four cabins...
H2 Yacht Design and Laurent Giles collaborate on 110M Project “Atlas”
Two well-noted names in the business of superyacht design have come together to design an audacious project known at “Atlas”. The vessel is described as a 110-meter sail-assisted superyacht which uses the benefit of wind-driven power to help her through the water in conjunction with her engines.
Power is to be provided by diesel-electric means and running her on this alone is envisioned allow her an 18-knot top speed. Not only that but her tanks are large enough to run her for approximately 8,000-nautical miles without stopping. Of course if she is sail-assisted on that journey, the range would be inherently longer. Furthermore, the potential cost savings by using the sail-assisted concept can be as much as above 40-percent.
The massive 110-meter concept sprawls over five decks offering a myriad of opportunities for the owner or guests alike...
New SuperSports Series unveiled at 2012 MYS by Palmer Johnson
American Yacht builder Palmer Johnson Yachts unveiled a new line of SuperSports yachts at the 2012 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). The new line of yachts range from 42-meters to 72-meters with the middle size of the range at 48-meters. The exterior styling is radical and fresh offering invigorating feelings for new design. One of the new SuperSports Yachts is actually under construction.
The first yacht to be completed in the series will the 48-meter variant. She will be launched in 2013 and also delivered in 2013. Bear in mind that the yachts will be built in carbon composite. However, the surprising stand out feature is not the hybrid reverse bow but the small sponsons/outriggers that protrude from the aft. The sponsons are wave-piercing in design as well. In essence she is not a mono-hull and having the distinct advantage of better stability over a true mono-hull of the same size...
Claydon Reeves and BMT Nigel Gee collaborate on 55-meter 'Oxygen' CAT project
A collaboration between Claydon Reeves and BMT Nigel Gee produces a new design for a large powered catamaran. The 55-meter design proposal is on a special SWATH platform. The vessel is being called Project 'Oxygen' but as luxurious as the design is intended to be, it will be as utilitarian as can be imagined.
Actually, one of the main purposes underpinning the design is for a platform for dive exploring. It is for this reason that the design is capable of carrying extenisve dive equipment. To haul that equipment its prospective explorers Oxygen is proposed to be powered by four MTU engines of the 2000 series. Top speed of Oxygen is expected to be in the region of 24-knots with far more comfortable ride compared to a monohull of the same size...
