Fourth Oyster 885 sailing to commence build
Sailing yacht manufacturer Oyster terminated 2012 on a good note by garnering a new contract for another Oyster 885 sailing yacht. This new hull will be built for delivery in 2014. The first hull of this new series was launched in 2012 and now called "Lush". Hull 2 and 3 are under construction both for launch and completion this year.
This current build, hull 4, will a slightly different from her series-mates. The raised saloon area will be a shade larger than on her sisters. Also the interior layout will be customized for the owner. For motoring or sail assistance, the Oyster 885 sailing yacht is powered by a single 246 kW Cummins marine engine.
Briefly looking at the cabin arrangements of the Oyster 885. It is available in two types basically, with three or two cabin layout. One version is with a full-beam master and two double cabins aft of the midships or with an extra double cabin forward...
New Heesen custom 50-meter superyacht signed
Proceedings continue to look positive for Dutch yacht manufacturer, Heesen with the signing of yet another superyacht. This one is a 50-meter luxury motoryacht with build number YN17350. This signing brings the tally to four superyachts signed in 2012 for Heesen and for the last couple of Christmas seasons, a new project to end the year with.
Not surprisingly, Naval Architecture is compliments Van Oossanen Naval Architects in cooperation with Heesen. The exterior styling is being done by Clifford Denn Design. The arrangement for eight guests is in three double cabins and a twin. The owner will have their own stateroom on the forward end of the main deck.
Looking at the running characteristics, 15-knots is the calculated top speed thanks to a pair of MTU 8V4000 engines. She will be capable of Trans-Atlantic range with her 4000 nautical-mile credentials at a reduced speed of 12-knots...

Westport completes latest W164' "Annastar"
American builder Westport completed their latest member of Westport 164 series called "Annastar". She is the tenth yacht in the line and if you are confused as to the previous sisterships, here is a reminder. "Vango" (5001), "Evviva" (5002), "My Girl" (5003), "SeaQuest" (5004), "Xilonen V" (5006), "Boardwalk" (5007), "Wabi Sabi" (5008), "Legacy" (5009).
The design of Annastar is of course as usual by Donald Starkey with the Naval Architecture by Garden/Olsen. The standard W164 achieves 24-knots utilizing a pair of 3,650 HP MTU engines. A very respectable range over 5,000 nautical miles at 12-knots can be achieved. Guest accommodation is expected to be in two twins, two doubles, a VIP and a Master stateroom for a total of tweleve guests. Annastar is completed now last seen in the San Diego area.

Construction to start on Dubois 101-meter sloop mid-2013
Remember when you were wowed by the design proposal by Dubois Naval Architects for a 101-meter super sailing sloop earlier this year? The beast of a yacht is now closer-than-ever to starting construction. The behemoth is set to start build by Q2 2013.
Design 380 at Dubois Naval Architects is clearly their largest design to-date. Even at that length and approximately 2000-tonnes she will draw only 4-meters of water with her keel retracted! However, in sailing mode out in the deep blue, the draft can be increased to 16-meters to take advantage of that undersea reach for stabilty...
Oyster set to launch Oyster 125 Flybridge yacht "Twilight"
Come early 2013, sailyacht manufacturer Oyster is expected to launch an Oyster 125-foot sailing yacht to be called "Twilight". She is a flybridge sail cruiser designed by Dubois Naval Architects and is currently under construction at RMK Marine.
Twilight is for sale at the moment asking 16.8-million Euros. On the inside she features a comfortable comtemporary soft earthy-toned palette designed by Rhoades Young. The layout is very easy and functional especially in the saloon area. Parqet flooring is paired with lighter toned tans and creams on furniture pieces and accessories. This theme transitions to the walls of the interior.
At 180,000 kilos (180 tonnes) lightship displacement, the Oyster 125 by Dubois is a very substantial superyacht, offering a stunning performance in absolute comfort...
50-meter Heesen Project 'Azuro' coming together at Heesen
A new 50-meter superyacht is coming together at Dutch builder Heesen, in Oos, The Netherlands. The vessel is being built under YN 16650 and is expected to be completed in the Spring of 2014. The vessel is being built in all aluminium and does not have an owner as yet.
Project 'Azuro' will be the fourth 50-meter to-date with the third one currently under construction for delivery in 2013. The Azuro project is expected to be sleeping 10 to 12 guests in a Master stateroom, a VIP-type stateroom, two twin cabins and two doubles. The interior is going to be fleshed out to a design by Francesco Paszkowski...
CRN prepares to launch top-of-the-line 80-meter superyacht "Chopi Chopi"
It's been a buzz at the CRN shipyard in Italy during the last few months, first with the successful launching of the superyacht "J'Ade". However, more stir was created when their largest yacht to-date left the building hall and rolled into day-light for the first time.
Hull 129, the 80-meter superyacht "Chopi Chopi" looks even better than in her rendered state that most have been accustomed to during the last few years. Abeking & Rasmussen 82.30-meter superyacht
German superyacht builder Abeking & Rasmussen has been quietly working on a new superyacht. Very little is known about this 82.30-meter superyacht from the German yard. However, a rendering has been released and now we can see how this giant will look.
YF can tell you that this secretive yacht has a design by Sam Sorgiovanni and an interior by Jim Harris. The fact this vessel is so secret may not be coincidence, she's the successor to the 61-meter Feadship of the same name -"Secret"(now "Majestic")-. Ferretti unveils new Ferretti 960 megayacht
Recently, Ferretti Yachts unveiled details of their new flagship, currently under construction. The new vessel is the Ferretti 960 2013 model. Not surprisingly the new project brings together many familiar entities like Studio Zuccon International Project, Centro Stile and AYT.
This new 2013 model currently in build is being seen as the successor to the Ferretti 881. When this new model launches in Spring 2013, it will be the first model of the Ferretti Brand to have a five-stateroom layout enabling her to carry a minimum of ten guests. She will have four mirror staterooms on the lower deck all opposite each other of the center-line. The master stateroom as you would expect is forward on the main deck...
Amels sells second 67-meter Sea Axe support vessel
Amels has successfully sold the second unit in the Sea Axe fast yacht support line. Cheoy Lee making progress on new Alpha 87 Express Sport
Major progress is underway as the new Alpha 87 Express Sport takes shape. The Alpha 87 ES is a contiguous Alpha evolution from Naval Architect Michael Peters and Interior Designer Luiz de Basto. The Alpha 87 ES is a four stateroom layout below with formal and informal dining and lounge inside and outside.
This boat is a step up from their Express line that has been turning heads. The Express line currently deals out a 76-footer yacht in Express and newly made Flybridge model of the same length. Heesen starts construction on all-aluminium megayacht
A number of new models have been introduced to the world by Dutch builder Heesen Yachts this year. One of them is an all-aluminium 45-meter design. The full-aluminium sports yacht looks like a smaller version to the 65-meter they have in build but with a few individual characteristics.
Omega Architects are in on the design on this new model and they commented..."we are proud to announce that Heesen Yachts have decided to build a new design of 45 meters. This particular design will inspire prospect owners because of the authentic Heesen Yachts values like speed and technology."
These sleek sports-style yachts that Heesen have been building aren't lazy either. This 45-meter is anticipated to reach a 30-knot top end speed. Resulting from her sleek Omega design the 45-meter has a pretty long and spacious sun deck fitted with a jacuzzi just aft of midships...
Inace Yachts preparing to launch 38.4-meter explorer "Batai"
If you are familiar with Inace Yachts of Brazil you probably will remember their last delivery, the 37-meter explorer called "Far Far Away". Delivered: Inace 37M expedition yacht "Far Far Away" - YachtForums.Com. However, there is a new yacht that is about to be splashed very soon, a slightly larger vessel at 38.4-meters called "Batai".
Batai is actually very similar looking to Far Far Away just a few meters larger. Just like Far Far Away, Batai is designed by Luiz de Basto. The steel and aluminum explorer yacht also features interior work and design by Luiz de Basto, with sleeping capacity for ten guests...
Baltic Yachts secure contract to build 35.5M sailing yacht
More good news permeates the air for Baltic Yachts with the signing of a new contract for a 35.5-meter sailing yacht. Back in June 2012, they also signed a contract for another yacht called "WinWin" New Contract: Baltic 108' racer/cruiser "WinWin" - YachtForums.Com. She will be a high-performance cruiser with a length in the region of 116-feet.
Naval Architecture is by Judel/Vrolijk & Co while her exterior design and styling is by Nauta Design. Actually the interior as well is by Nauta Design. Speaking of the interior, the Baltic 116 will sleep up to eight guests in four cabins inclusive of a master stateroom for the owner.
The MCM managed project will kick-start construction in January 2013 with a foreseen launching in fourth-quarter 2014...

PJ170 and PJ210 project Stimulus in-build at Palmer Johnson
American yacht manufacturer Palmer Johnson has a number of yachts in various stages of build and two of these superyachts are from the PJ210 and PJ170 lines that represent the larger yachts by Palmer Johnson. Both yachts are designed by Nuvolari & Lenard.
The larger of the two yachts, the PJ210, so-called Project 'Stimulus', is well underway with expected delivery in in 2013. Special features onboard include an 8.5-meter pool, when not in use will host the 8.3-meter Pascoe International main tender. The pool will also be able to be closed off to allow for the forward bow area to be utilized as a touch-and-go heli-pad...
CRN's 74-meter superyacht with design by Studio Zuccon
Italian yard CRN recently launched their latest superyacht, the 58-meter "J'Ade" but they are actively working on a number of other projects under construction. One of them is a 74-meter supeyacht that is destined to become the yard's second largest build, only second to the 80-meter (hull 129) due to be launched very early next year.
Hull 131, the 74-meter, is well underway with hull completed and superstructure already mated. The design is by Studio Zuccon with interior seemingly in-house by Central Stile CRN. Power will come by two CAT 3516 marine engines and run Hull 131 to a top speed of 16.5-knots.
The new yacht will have many of the normal features seen on superyachts, but some special features seem to stand out. A beach club will be onboard, balconies, a heli-pad on the bow, wine-tasting area and a so-called green-house room to support the owners' Bonsai collection...
New 40-meter Miss Tor Schooner Yacht under construction
A new 40-meter schooner is currently well underway in construction in Turkey. She is called the Miss Tor 130 and is being built in steel. The three-masted schooner will eventually weigh 165-tonnes and run a high cruising speed near 14-knots with her twin MAN engines -this is of course when she is not sailing-.
The new yacht is presently up for sale and asking 1.9 million Euros. Guests will find onboard sleeping accommodation in five staterooms, a master room as well as four double cabins. At double occupancy this means she should be able to carry ten guests comfortably. Delivery is expected for June 2013...
New Horizon E56 motoryacht ordered by Australian client
Horizon is pleased to announce receipt of a new order for the Horizon E56 for an Australia client – the E56 model has been highly popular since her debut in 2012 and this new order will mark the seventh hull built. This E56 will feature a unique grey hull with cool black boot line, along with a new main deck layout that features a forward galley with a breakfast bar and hanging locker above cooktop.
