The interior of this new yacht has been designed by François Zuretti...

Overmarine recieves orders for two Mangusta brand yachts
2013 has kicked off well for Overmarine and brand Mangusta. Two new orders rolled in for the company for their top of the line Mangusta 165 and the other a 108. With the new order for the Mangusta 165 model, that takes the series to nine yachts. Just a few months prior, Overmarine sold the eighth hull in that series. For the Mangusta 108, this new sale is the thirtieth unit of the series.
The 30th hull in the 108 series will have a few differences to her. A new sundeck including a solarium highlights the main difference. On her modern interior she is expected to sleep eight guests in a master stateroom and three other guest cabins. She is expected to be launched this summer and be completed by then as well. The ninth Mangusta 165 is expected to launch in 2014...
Lurssen launches 180-meter superyacht 'Azzam'
It was in May 2012 when the world got an initial glimpse of what would eventually become the world's largest superyacht, 'Azzam'. This happened when Lurssen was forced to pre-launch the behemoth in order to fit the bow on to the front of the hull and also transfer her to Lurssen's enormous floating dry dock. She then vanished from view until the last few days when Lurssen removed the front door of the dock giving the world a definitive view of the world's largest superyacht. This morning, the German custom superyacht builder launched Azzam from the floating dry dock, effectively knocking the 536-foot Blohm & Voss "Eclipse" from her number 1 pedestal.
As you can imagine, not a lot is known about this very large superyacht at the moment. However, her design is completely by Italian design house Nauta Yacht Design...
ADM Kiel/Nobiskrug launch 73-meter superyacht "Odessa II"
Hull 423 has been launched with little fanfare but enough to capture our attention. You will remember her sister, finished as "Plan B", hull 423 is called "Odessa II". She was seen briefly last year when she left Abu Dhabi Mar Kiel for Nobiskrug for finishing and now she has re-emerged for launching. She is presently in the water and at the outfitting/finishing pier.
Odessa II has been designed by Focus Yacht Design with an interior by H2 Yacht Design. It should not be much of a surprise that the design firm worked on the interior of the owner's previous yacht. The interior design on the new Odessa II is in a 'New Hampton' style. Accommodation onboard is for twelve guests in six staterooms.
The 73-meter superyacht differs from her sister primarily in colour scheme. She has a grey hull with grey accents along the white superstructure...

Heesen launches 50-meter yacht "Ventura"
Dutch builder Heesen has launched two superyachts, one of them is the 50-meter all-aluminium "Ventura". She was built under yard number 16050 and bears design lines by Omega Architects with Naval Architecture between Van Oossanen and Heesen. On the interior the crisp and modern interior has been developed by Fracesco Paszkowski.
The new yacht is very distinguishable with her color scheme focused on metallic greys. On the interior, she boasts accommodation for twelve guests in six suites. There are in fact two master staterooms one located in the conventional forward main deck and the other is aft of the bridge on that deck. The other suites are on the lower deck. The Paszkowski theme on the interior uses polished ebony parquet floor that contrasts with whitened oak paneling...
Chris Seymour Design 245' "Elementum"
A New Superyacht Species
Christopher Seymour Designs has developed a new superyacht species appropriately
named - "Elementum", which is Latin for Element. The Elementum concept presents a
shocking silhouette, challenging traditional maritime elements with a militant, machete-
like profile that is one part bleeding edge yacht design and one part Alien with an Attitude.
Chris is a long-time member of YachtForums (screen name - '84far') with several notable designs to his credit including, "Alpine"; a 122 meter superyacht and "Sunset Heaven"; a 96-meter plumb bow design. With his latest incarnation, Chris brought together many different properties to create an entirely new element. The main focus of the Elementum concept is to increase hull efficiency through applied hydrodynamics...
Flevoship launches 29.26-meter "Belle de Jour"
Dutch yard Flevoship launched the 29.26-meter motoryacht "Belle de Jour" recently. She bears a design by Pieter Beeldsnijder fleshed out with classical elements. The interior has been done to the owner's tastes. Speaking of the owner, they are a repeat client. Belle de Jour's accommodation is set out for six guests, a full-beam master stateroom and two double staterooms. The doubles can actually be combined to become one large VIP-type stateroom if needed.
For a pocket-megayacht, Belle de Jour packs some nice features. She has been optimized to be run with minimal crew and to be sailed by the owner himself. The interior is nice and comfortable boasting Art Deco touches. There are two side balconies, a space to keep a small vehicle as well as space for two tenders onboard. Belle de Jour is powered via twin 440kW MAN engines...
The Christopher Seymour 44-meter performance cruiser 'Amor Fati'
Christopher Seymour Designs unveils their latest design ahead of the Palm Beach Show. The new design is a sleek performance cruiser with a sloop rig called 'Amor Fati'. His design boards produced many interesting designs across the range, from sleek sail yachts to equally sleek and bold of the mega and superyacht type. One of those interesting superyacht designs is called 'One Quest', which looks more like an aggressive amoured sentry. YachtForums.com has had the distinct pleasure of having this talented designer as a long-time contributing member. Furthermore, he has had some of his other designs published here and the Amor Fati is another...
Dockwise Yacht Transport Services Storied Destinations Around the World
Whether transporting 50-foot sport fishing boats or 250-foot luxury yachts, Dockwise Yacht Transport (DYT) and its fleet of semi-submersible ships give clients access to many of the world’s major shipping ports, which in turn lead to some of the most desirable travel destinations around the globe. In early February, DYT’s 556-foot (169.49 meter) Super Servant 4 started its annual passage to Brisbane (Australia) and Auckland (New Zealand), a sailing that originated in Palma de Mallorca in late November, 2012. Having stopped in Le Marin (Martinique), Port Everglades (Florida) and Golfito (Costa Rica) on its way to the South Pacific, the semi-submersible ship, which “sinks” to load and unload its floating yacht cargo, is now enroute to Golfito and will return to Port Everglades before it goes transatlantic...

A massive 88-meter straight-bow superyacht is currently under construction at the Raffles yard in China. RSD (Rainsford Sauders Design) has done the external design while Naval Architecture has been handled by Azure Naval Architects. The 88-meter superyacht dubbed 'Illusion' spreads over five decks with steel hull and aluminum superstructure...
Inace splashes 38.4-meter expedition yacht "Batai"
The Inace 38.4-meter "Batai" has finally been splashed and on her way to delivery status. She offers accommodation in five guest staterooms on the lower deck including a generously large full-beam master stateroom. Just like another recent Inace expedition build -"Far Far Away", Batai is designed by Luiz de Basto, outside and in.
Expedition yacht Batai has a 7,000-nautical mile range at 10-knots and has been built to Lloyds and MCA class. She was built for a Mexican owner who will soon enjoy the comforts of this world-cruiser. Two sizable tenders are stored on the foredeck and serviced by a dedicated crane. Other notable features across her four decks include a jacuzzi on the upper-most deck, a hardtop stretching aft from the mast providing shading to the aft seating region on the sundeck and easy access to the sea from the swim platform...
Abeking & Rasmussen launch 82.3-meter superyacht "Secret"
German superyacht builder Abeking and Rasmussen unveiled their latest secret last week. The 82.3-meter superyacht "Secret" was launched on March 13th, 2013 at the yard's Lemwerder facility in Germany. The superyacht has been built for a repeat client who had another superyacht previously with the same name.
The design of the yacht itself is by Sam Sorgiovanni and on the interior, that was conceptualized and brought to reality by Jim Harris, who also worked on the owner's previous yacht interior. If the external design looks familar, perhaps like OceAnco's "Anastasia", you wouldn't be that far off because she too was designed by Sam Sorgiovanni. However, this is the owner's first collaboration with Sam Sorgiovanni designs and it turned out well. As the name of the yacht hints, this yacht has been built under a veil of.....
Codecasa unveils new 50-meter superyacht design
Itaian yard Codecasa recently unveiled a 'new' 50-meter superyacht design. More modern and 'current', the yacht is essentially based on their 50-meter 'Vintage' line -which is in production-. The updated and modern with more aggressive lines, should appeal to potential clients who are not seeking the vintage look for their yacht.
This particular boat hasn't started construction as yet but could easily start when there is interest or a buyer. It is based on hull C121 (50-meter Vintage) which is currently under construction for delivery in 2015. Comparing the two designs there are subtle differences. The modern Codecasa 50-meter variant has larger windows, lower and more notched-out bulwarks to create better views to the exterior of the yacht...
Bloemsma & van Breemen 44-meter megayacht nearing completion
Dutch yard Bloemsma & van Breemen is to soon launch their long in-build 44-meter motor yacht. This vessel has had a start-stop construction process because the owner left the project and Bloemsma & van Breemen had to halt the build process but they restarted and it is close to completion and launching. Exterior and interior design work has been done by Pieter Beeldsnijder and Naval Architecture by Vripack.
The yacht features an upper deck dedicated pretty-much entirely to the potential owners of the yacht. They have a master stateroom as well as their own private lounge and a terrace on the forward area of the deck. This deck by-the-way is traditionally the bridge deck on most yachts of this size but it has been designed around the owner. The bridge itself is one deck below, on the forward main deck, sort-of...
Benetti launches latest Crystal 140' megayacht "Luna"
Italian yard Benetti yachts launched their latest motoryacht yesterday. She is the second hull in the new Crystal 140-series and was built under hull number BY002. She has been christened and her name is "Luna". The new megayacht has been finished in all white with a black draft.
The design has been formulated and sculpted by Stefano Righini with an interior by the well-known Francois Zuretti. At slow speeds(12-knots) Luna could have a 4,000 nautical mile range and a cruising speed of 14-knots thanks to her twin CAT C32 Acert engines. Luna is just about 42-meters LOA and 9-meters wide and she will be delivered to her owner(s) for the coming Summer season.

SanLorenzo delivers 40M Alloy megayacht to Dubai
Italian builder SanLorenzo has completed and delivered the latest megayacht from their 40-meter Alloy line. The all aluminum planing yacht was shipped from Italy to the Middle East. The yacht was lifted aboard a special cargo transport from the Mediterranean to the Suez Canal. The yacht then entered the Red Sea and finally arrived in Dubai approximately 15 days later.
The yacht was built for a very high-profile client in Dubai and features a modern interior. Contrasting woods like olive ash for the furniture and burned oak for the floors work the public interior scheme. In the ensuite bathrooms, Fossena stone and Limestone Malayat were chosen to complete the lovely guest areas. Below decks, a pair of MTU 2775 horse power engines deliver enough power to run this Alloy 40 to a top-end speed of 28-knots. Cruising speed should be a few knots slower at 25 knots...
