Perini Navi Unveils 39-meter Philippe Briand Designed Performance Sloop
Italian sail yacht specialists Perini Navi recently unveiled a couple new designs and projects of which one of them is a motoryacht from the Vitruvius series of the Picchiotti brand. However, we will focus on the 39-meter performance sloop designed by Philippe Briand. The sloop is being tipped to be introduced as part of Perini Navi's racing line and is build number C.2196. The overall design presents a very sleek-looking racing/cruising yacht featuring lines by Philippe Briand in conjunction with the technical departments at Perini Navi. To match the fast and light profile of the yacht the interior benefits from large amounts of glazing to the superstructure. An ample sweep of windows along the sides of the superstructure pour natural light towards the interior. More light filters in from above with the inclusion of glazing works to the roof of the structure...
Columbus Yachts Unveil 32-meter 'Liberty' Motoryacht Design
Columbus Yachts continue to stir interest in the megayacht world with continuous releases of new designs proposed to be built by their yard. The latest design is for a 32-meter luxury motoryacht that they are terming 'Liberty'. The day-to-day living onboard the yacht is expected to reflect the philosophy of liberty. The design is being pushed seriously and you will be able to explore the concept in more detail at the upcoming edition of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS). The tri-deck luxury motoryacht will be hybrid in terms of power source. She is proposed to have marine diesel engines, ranging from twin MTU 12V 2000 M94s and coupled with twin 60 Kw Siemens Ecoprop auxiliary engines. This allows the owner to have the liberty to run longer cruises at around a consistent 12-knots with low emission and consumption or have faster journeys at more than 20-knots...

She represents the fifth hull, XL1005, and is a massive 92.5-meters LOA and rises five decks above the waterline. XL1005 has a number of features but perhaps the most striking is the massive pool on the aft main deck. It represents the largest pool ever installed on a Feadship to-date. The pool is nearly 40-feet long and over ten feet wide. The design of this 92.5-meter superyacht was done in-house at Feadship and features an interior by Seymour Diamond. She was built in steel, for the hull, and aluminium on the superstructure. She is to sleep a maximum of fourteen guests along with twenty-two crew members. Power to the props are compliments twin MTU 16V 4000 marine diesels. With nearly 190,000 LT capacity fuel tanks onboard XL1005 will easily have ocean-crossing range...
Admiral Yachts 50-meter C-Force Superyacht
2014 has been a good year for Italian builder Admiral Yachts with the completion and delivery of a number of yachts to their owners. They are also working on a couple more projects that are under construction. One of them is the 50-meter C-Force superyacht which recently (last week) started construction in earnest. A ceremony was held to commemorate the start of construction; the owner and family attended. The highlight was when the traditional laying of the coin was done and it was welded to the bow of the new yacht. C-Force features lines by Centro Stile and Jure Bukavec of Unielle Design. One of the most striking features of the design of C-Force is the ample glazing midships. It encompasses two decks, the main and upper deck and pours natural light inward through the full-height windows...
Sunrise Yachts Deliver 45-meter Motoryacht "Atomic"

The design of the second hull is by Studio Scanu while the contemporary interior design is by Franck Darnet. Atomic is on a full displacement platform allowing a comfortable ride while she takes her time across the ocean. Yes, the steel-hulled yacht has trans-Atlantic range and she is easily suited for either private utilization or charter...
ISA Yachts "Yara 44" - Omega Design
The Concept of ISA's Yara 44 is the result of a cooperation between ISA Yachts, Omega Architects and Van Oossanen Naval Architects. The result is a spectacular, fast displacement 44-meter motor mega yacht. ISA Yachts management asked Omega Architects to create the lines for a fast yacht adopted to the modern yachting life style. ISA Yachts has a reputation building fast yachts and displacement yachts but sees demand for speed in combination with efficiency and range. This new generation of sport yacht should have an attractive open main deck rather than a closed in formal main deck. The goal is to create 50% more usable space in comparison to a traditional lay-out. More than ever, ISA Yachts asked Omega to focus on the interior – exterior relationship, with full-height windows and opening. Attention should be given to the characteristic ‘near-vertical’ ISA Yachts bow...

Nautor Swan Delivers 105RS Sailing Yacht "Ti-coyo"
Nautor Swan delivered their latest yacht ahead of the 2014 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) last month where she debuted on the world stage. She is a member of the new 105RS semi-custom series from Swan with design by German Frers and interior work by Beiderbecke Designs. With this series it affords the owner to customize the layout of the interior how they want it. The master stateroom can be placed almost in any location in the hull. On "Ti-coyo" they owners decided they wanted this sanctuary aft. What is special about it, is that when the bathing platform on the transom is lowered, the owners have that large teak-deck space to themselves and also affords a unique experience. This area onboard would have ordinarily been taken up by the yacht's main tender. The tender is stored in a dedicated recess on the fore deck instead...

McMullen & Wing has released fresh details of their 50m luxury expedition motor yacht currently under construction. The new 50m project is a true ocean adventurer, commissioned by a buyer seeking to explore the world in comfort and security. The yacht, still identified publically only by its yard number 1016, is a 50m long range displacement motoryacht, featuring naval architecture, exterior styling and interior design by Gregory C Marshall Naval Architects, together with McMullen & Wing’s substantial in-house design team. This new project is a clear evolution of the same team’s much admired 45m BIG FISH design. In styling, BIG FISH inspired the yachting world with her combination of classical but muscular proportion, striking architectural lines and extensive full height glazing, wrapped around a light, contemporary, relaxed interior...
Acico Yachts Unveil 50-meter Superyacht
After the success of the 50-meter "Nassima" by Acico Yachts, the company is back at it again with another 50-meter model. This one is a totally different look for the company and in fact, it is not just this 50-meter, it is a range of yachts stretching from 26, 29 and 40-meters, however they are focusing on the top-of-the-range, 50-meter model now. The models are proposed to be built in steel and aluminum to a design by Sea Level Yacht Design. The new 50-meter Acico motor yacht is the largest design in the semi-custom model range. Her exterior design showcases a relatively sleek profile with long foredeck and straight bow. Some of the features packed into this 50-meter platform include a private balcony for the master suite, a large beach club on the aft main deck, a fully beamward (transverse) tender garage and full height windows all around the superstructure...
Jarrett Bay Announces Jarrett Bay 90-foot Sportfish
Earlier this year, U.S. Sportfish specialist Jarret Bay Boatworks announced the construction for an 88-foot sportfish yacht. Now there is another announcement for a slightly larger model, a 90-footer. The 90-footer will naturally become the manufacturer's flagship model. It is going to be built under hull number 62 with an LOA of 90-feet, BOA of 22.6-feet and a maximum draft of 5.8-feet. She is going to be powered by twin MTU engines 16v2000 M94s at 2,600 horse power each. The brief was pretty simple for this build. Working with a customer armed with a knowledge of boats, high tech engineering and a passion to competitively fish anywhere, the brief was to use state of the art materials, design, and electronics to create the ultimate sportfish boat...
Nordhavn launches N60 Trawler Yacht "Julia"
The final steps in Nordhavn 60 #61’s path to delivery were completed recently as she embarked on the first of a battery of seatrials that will deem her completely seaworthy and ready for shipment to her owners. Cameras followed the boat and factory techs, vendor reps, as well as PAE Project Manager Dave Harlow, who oversaw a full day of testing that required every system on the boat to be run at its full potential. The day’s assessments, which included steering, emergency stopping and back-up tests, replicated the same performance evaluations required to achieve CE certification. “She passed with flying colors,” notes Harlow. The engine and equipment sea trial is followed up by further long-term testing at which point the boat gets trimmed up...
Yachtley 87-meter Superyacht by Gresham Yacht Design
A new contract for Yachtley is confirmed and features Naval Architecture by Alpha Marine and is to be constructed by the Yachtley Shipyard in Turkey. The yacht encompasses five decks with a lot of the space being relegated to the interior. Maybe not surprising there is not that much deck space for an 87-meter superyacht. One area that is totally closed in that typically is an open deck space area on most yachts, is the upper aft deck. Fully enclosed with full-height windows all-around and overhang the yacht's beam on both sides, it makes for a perfect observatory-type space. Another interesting feature is that the salon is not on the aft main deck as usual it is perched mid-ships on the upper deck. Basically the salon is full-beam and features sliding glass doors that open up onto balconies on either side...
Ruea Yachts Present 50-meter Superyacht Design 'Du Voyager' at MYS
Ruea Yachts presented two motoryacht designs at the just concluded 2014 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). One design is for a 43-meter motoryacht with design by Cor D. Rover and the other is a 50-meter tri-deck superyacht known as 'Du Voyager' with design by Design Unlimited. The latter mentioned design we will focus on. If the so-called Du Voyager 50-meter design looks familiar it is because it looks similar in many aspects to a luxury motoryacht recently delivered by Feadship. The design is by Design Unlimited and although it has similar appeal to a yacht called "Como", there are a lot of features that are different. One thing that they have in common is the extensive use of glass. The Ruea project seems to taking the glazing fetish to another level though. For example, the master suite, located forward on the main deck has a glass ceiling...
Pride Yachts Debuted 109-meter 'Tomorrow' Concept at MYS
Another new concept debuted at the just concluded 2014 Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). This one is from Pride Yachts in China. It's a pretty large concept, nearly 109-meters LOA with a healthy overall beam 16.3-meters, yes that's just about 54-feet. Sinot Yacht Design has collaborated with Pride Yachts on this particular project creating a sumptuous Beach-style interior purely about relaxation. Even though the tones chosen are on the lighter-side of the colour palette, the overall feel is still somewhat warm. However, it is open with numerous spaces that connect directly with the sea. For example, there is a large beach-club on the aft lower deck. This links directly to the aft swim platform. Of course, it has downward-folding shell doors to completely open up the space and provide that in-out feel when at anchor...
Tankoa Yachts Unveil 70-meter Design at Monaco Yacht Show 2014
Italian yard Tankoa Yachts released their one of their newest superyacht designs at the on-going 2014 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). Simply going by the yard's build number S701, it suggests that the project is 70-meters LOA with an 11.6-meter beam over all. A maximum draft of 3.38-meters rounds out the principle specs for this 1,400 GRT vessel. Hull S701 is spread across an impressive five decks, four of them being internal above the waterline. The decks feature a number of great areas for guests to call home or entertain themselves, dine and pamper themselves to the highest order. Tankoa Yachts are marketing this particular yacht as 'the dream mansion' based on its palatial-like arrangement...
Feadship 67-meter Superyacht Hull 809
Dutch superyacht manufacturer Feadship has a number of yachts under construction at the moment. Two of them feature a design by Eidsgaard Design -who just released their brand new website-. There is a 57-meter which is Hull 810 and the one we are focusing on today is the 67-meter Hull 809. The new superyacht which has exterior design done by Eidsgaard Design. The design platform is on four decks above the water. You can't help but wonder that the overall concept of the exterior looks quite similar to that of another Feadship, "April Fool". However, the new yacht showcases revived styling with sloping structures aft and continuing winding style elements that complete the mast design. Most areas on the design where the bulwark would normally obstruct partial views outward, Eidsgaard 'notched-out' the structure to improve visibility outwards...
Blohm + Voss reveals 80M Semi-Custom Superyacht Project
German builder Blohm + Voss is usually a fully custom manufacturer but this time they are presenting an 80-meter semi-custom superyacht project simply called 'BV80'. B+V actually stopped building superyachts a couple years ago when its parent company -at the time-, Thyssenkrupp wanted to focus more on commerical projects. With new ownership now B+V has bounced back into the superyacht sector recently with the delivery of the 82-meter superyacht "Graceful". This 80-meter now represents a new era for the German yard stepping foot into the semi-custom arena.‘One of the key things from our research is build time, people want boats fast these days,’ says B+V Sales & Marketing Director Patrick Coote...
