UK yacht manufacturer Sunseeker recently delivered the first Sunseeker 101-foot Sport motoryacht "Black Legend" to her owner. Black Legend is indeed a very customized motoryacht not only with the exterior black and red pirate paint theme but the interior is also pretty custom. It just goes to show the extent that Sunseeker is willing to go to meet the owner's brief with the Sunseeker 101 series...
Azimut launches Azimut Grande 95' RPH
Italian brand Azimut celebrated the recent launching of another member to their Azimut Grande family, this time an Azimut Grande 95'RPH motoryacht. Currently, the Azimut Grande family runs from 95-feet up to 120-feet but there is a 140-footer in the works which will inevitably lengthen the range significantly. The 95-footer is made in GRP to a design by Stefano Righini with Studio Salvagni Architetti doing the interior work. Technically, the 95-footer uses a pair of MTU 16V 2000 M84 marine engines. She then is expected to have a top-end speed of 26.5-knots and cruise around 20-knots.
The 95-footer is a gorgeous looking yacht featuring the usual Azimut sports lines and fast appeal, she is a head-turner even though she is at the bottom of the Azimut Grande line. You'll find accommodation for up to ten guests in five suites...
Tankoa Yachts sell 69.30-meter superyacht
Tankoa Yachts announces the recent sale of a near 70-meter superyacht they have currently under construction. The yacht was sold last month and has been under construction at the Genova, Italy yard. Hull S693 will have a few style changes due to the new owner. Designer Francesco Paszkowski, who has designed two other projects for Tankoa before, was asked to revise the exterior lines of the S693 superyacht. They additionally teamed-up with Yacht-Ology to create a timelessly modern-classic yacht. After the completion of the redesign, Yacht-Ology showed the project to an Eastern European client who signed a building agreement with the combined forces of Tankoa, Paszkowski and Yacht-Ology.
She will end up displacing around 1,300 tonnes and as a full-displacement superyacht a top speed of 16.5-knots should suffice...
Holland Jachtbouw launches 45-meter sloop "Heureka"
The latest yacht from Holland Jachtbouw has been launched and she is a 45-meter sloop with the name "Heureka". She is a Dixon designed sloop with an interior design by Rhoades Young Designs. The interior is said to be done to a minimalist concept. Codecasa 43-meter Vintage series megayacht in build
By now we all know of the Codecasa 42-meter Vintage Series of which a couple have been launched and are sailing around. However, there is a 43-meter version under construction at the moment, yes, only a meter longer. The slight addition in length is towards the aft of the yacht and is expected to offer more comfortable working and service areas in the garage around the tender.
She is under construction as hull F76 and this Italian yard -Codecasa- gathered feedback and information from owners and industry-specific professionals to develop a completely new layout for hull F76. The time has come for project FY17 to leave the build shed of New Zealand builder Fitzroy Yachts. It would have been a bittersweet moment for them and the workers involved because not only has FY17 transformed from an idea to reality but she is also the last yacht that will come from the yards of Fitzroy. Heesen launches 50-meter superyacht "Monaco Wolf"
Dutch luxury yacht manufacturer Heesen recently launched the 50-meter superyacht that was being built under the project name 'Azuro' (YN 16650). Now that she has been launched, and now christened by her owners, the new name is "Monaco Wolf". M/Y Monaco Wolf can accommodate up to twelve guests in six staterooms. The master suite is located in the traditional area on the forward main deck. Both bedroom and bathroom are full-beam with windows running along their entire length. The other guest suites are found on the lower deck and include a full-beam VIP, two double and two twin cabins. The interior has custom lighting to suit the needs of the situation. Christensen launches 50-meter superyacht "D'Natalin IV"
Another 50-meter superyacht launches from American yacht builder Christensen. She is the new "D'Natalin IV" and is from the well-known 164-foot Custom Series. The name may sound familiar to you and that is because the owner has had several yachts carrying the name D'Natalin in the past. They chose Christensen to produce their latest yacht, the D'Natalin IV with a gorgeous Navy Blue hull and gleaming white superstructure.
She is built to be fully classified and certified to ABS Commercial Yachting Services classification & MCA-LY2 Large Commercial Yacht Code Compliance. Keel Laid on 60-meter MondoMarine superyacht "Sarastar"
Last Friday saw the keel laying of the first 60-meter superyacht being built by MondoMarine. Previously known as simply 'M60' the project now has an actual name, "Sarastar". The majority of this superyacht is going to be built in aluminium to a design by Luca Dini. In fact Luca Dini is also doing the design work on the interior.
Even at 60-meters the semi-displacement hull will aid the twin MTU 16V 4000 M73L engines in the yacht attaining the expected 21-knot top speed. Pull the throttle back significantly to around 12-knots, a Trans-Atlantic range and more can be had (4,100 nautical miles). Sarastar is being done by the same team that worked on the 41-meter MondoMarine motoryacht "Nameless".
While the specific arrangement of Sarastar isn't known to the wider public, we have an idea how many guests she will be carrying eventually...
Blue Coast Yachts unveil new 60-meter power Trimaran superyacht
French builder Blue Coast Yachts recently unveiled the design for an all-new 60-meter power Trimaran superyacht. The design has been done by Coste Design & Partners and wraps around the concept of three hulls. There is the main central hull and two outriggers to provide a very stable platform. She is envisioned to be constructed in composite and offer sumptuous living and accommodation for guests and owner alike. Numarine secures order for 6th 102-foot motoryacht
Turkish builder Numarine secured its latest order for a motoryacht in their 102-foot line. The new build, ordered last month, will represent the sixth yacht in this series. If you cast your minds back, the first hull built was in 2007. Delivery is expected to be one year from now in March 2015.
As you will expect, yachts in a series change a bit with some elements being upgraded, restyled and layouts being changed to keep prospective owners interesting in the model. Similar has happened here with the sixth hull particularly with the layout on the lower deck. The engine room has been shifted further aft giving roomier crew space. Studio Spadolini is responsible for the exterior design while the interior is by Can Yalman. Other work by Numarine include new 40-meter explorer-styled concept. Benetti delivers Delfino class motoryacht "Zaphira"
Italian yacht builder Benetti has delivered another one of their Delfino classed yachts. This time it is hull number 5 in that class called "Zaphira". She is the one with the striking blue hull and white superstructure. Stefano Righini has been responsible for designing the yacht's distinctive exterior lines while Carlo Galeazzi has done the interior of Zaphira.
Zaphira is also one of the largest yachts to fly the Brazil flag. The interior features accommodation for up to twelve in a spacious master suite, two VIP-type cabins and two twin guest cabins. Twin MTUs are responsible for powering Zaphira to a top speed of 14-knots and she will get a 1,500 nautical mile range at around 10-knots...
First of the Granturismo line launches by ISA
Italian yard ISA launches the first yacht in their new Granturismo line. The line features yachts of varying LOAs but the one launched is the 43-meter variant. The design has been penned by Andrea Vallicelli with interior design by French design studio Melot + Trillo. A few design element stand out onboard this design like the yacht's vertical bow and the reverse-angle bridge windows.
Twin CAT diesel marine engines are onboard to run this efficient megayacht. Top speed has been estimated to be around 17-knots with a fast cruising speed near 15-knots. On the interior, the design has been fleshed out to the owner's whims and executed by Sandrine Melot of the above-mentioned French design Studio. JFA launches first Long Island 85-foot sailing catamaran
French manufacturer JFA just launched the first unit of their new Long Island class, an 85-foot sailing catamaran. In a slight departure from what is considered the norm these days, instead of composite, the hulls were manufactured in aluminium. However, the superstructure was done in composite. The design of the Long Island 85-footer is by Naval Architect Marc Lombard. The interior is also supposed to be by Marc Lombard as well.
As with larger catamarans, the guest and crew accommodation is distributed in the hulls. Nothing different here on the Long Island 85-footer. The starboard side hull hosts a guest cabin, the owner’s office and the master bathroom. The portside hull is home to another guest cabin, the galley, crew mess as well as two crew cabins. As is usually the case, the master suite is located forward on the main deck straddling the two hulls...
Second Hatteras 100 RPH motoryacht under construction
American builder Hatteras are progressing well with the second hull in the Hatteras 100 Raised Pilot House (RPH) line. The first hull launched and was widely accepted by the general public. The second hull is being worked on with the superstructure now attached to the hull. The 100 RPH is actually 102-feet LOA with a comfortable 22.6-foot beam. Shallow water operation is no problem for this model with her slim 6.2-foot draft.
Quite a few options are available on the 100 RPH model. For example, you can carry a tender on the swim platform or if you do not require the space in the transom, that could be trasnformed into the dedicated tender garage as an option. The accommodation layouts can be changed around a bit to suit the prospective owners needs. The flybridge can be changed up as well to accomodate a tender with davit on the aft or with more seating arrangements...
Rossi Navi launches 49-meter superyacht "Polaris"
The latest Rossi Navi luxury yacht launches and she is the second hull in the so-called 'Prince Shark' series. This 49-meter has been christened "Polaris" and is the second in this line, the first being "Param Jamuna IV" which was exactly one year before back in March 2013. Again, Enrico Gobbi of Team For Design has been responsible for the design as well as interior of this particular yacht -Polaris- with Naval Architecture by Arrabito Naval Architects.
On the interior, Polaris is believed to accommodate ten guests in five staterooms. Below deck she houses adequate musscle to run her to a top speed of 23-knots. Twin MTU 12V 4000 M93Ls provide that power however, even though she is a bit of a speedster, she can give you a decent range at 10-knots of close to 3,800 nautical miles...
NewCastle Marine 45.42-meter Expedition yacht "Alpha"
This 45.42-meter Expedition motoryacht "Alpha" has been under construction for a while and she was for sale asking 11-million dollars in her current state at around 75% completed. The full displacement steel-hulled yacht has a design by Murray & Associates. The comfortable interior is to be done using honey-coloured teak as a main material. She will sleep as many as fifteen guests in five staterooms including a full beam master suite on the bridge deck. Two doubles, two twins/ four pullman berths round out the guest accommodation.
As an expedition yacht she isn't expected to run very fast but take her time, being efficient at the same time. Her cruise speed is going to be around 12-knots and have a range of 4,000 nautical miles at 10-knots. Coming in at just under 500GT she is expected to be both ABS and MCA classified. Westport launches 12th 50-meter superyacht
American yacht manufacturer Westport launched their 12th 50-meter superyacht. Hull 12 is a Donald Starkey/William Garden design and now represents the third launch of 2014 for the U.S builder. Westport is expected to launch eight yachts in total for 2014 according to schedule. This 50-meter launches in time and coincides with Westport's 50-year celebration this year.
“We are very proud to be delivering this, the 12th 50m,” said Mark Masciarotte, Westport's Director of Sales. The 50 meter is Westport’s flagship, a high-performance tri-deck motoryacht that accommodates twelve guests in unsurpassed luxury. Baglietto signs contract for new 46-meter motoryacht
Italian builder Baglietto has signed a new contract for the construction of a 46-meter motoryacht. Actually, the yacht is already under construction and at an advanced stage and so the new owner will have the advantantage of receiving their yacht without a very long wait time. The new 46-meter motoryacht is expected to be completed and delivered in early 2015.
Just one month ago, this Italian yard announced the signing of contract for a 54-meter superyacht. The present 46-meter, known as project 10217, will be powered by two CAT 3512Bs and present a top speed of 17-knots. With a 4,500 nautical mile range at around 12 knots the new yacht will be versatile in having Trans-Atlantic range and short sprint speeds.
