Even at 60-meters the semi-displacement hull will aid the twin MTU 16V 4000 M73L engines in the yacht attaining the expected 21-knot top speed. Pull the throttle back significantly to around 12-knots, a Trans-Atlantic range and more can be had (4,100 nautical miles). The design of the Long Island 85-footer is by Naval Architect Marc Lombard. The interior is also supposed to be by Marc Lombard as well.
As with larger catamarans, the guest and crew accommodation is distributed in the hulls. Nothing different here on the Long Island 85-footer. The starboard side hull hosts a guest cabin, the owner’s office and the master bathroom. The portside hull is home to another guest cabin, the galley, crew mess as well as two crew cabins. Shallow water operation is no problem for this model with her slim 6.2-foot draft.
Quite a few options are available on the 100 RPH model. For example, you can carry a tender on the swim platform or if you do not require the space in the transom, that could be trasnformed into the dedicated tender garage as an option. The accommodation layouts can be changed around a bit to suit the prospective owners needs. The flybridge can be changed up as well to accomodate a tender with davit on the aft or with more seating arrangements...

Otam building 30.5-meter sportsyacht
Italian yard Otam is presently working on the construction for a 30.5-meter sportsyacht with an impressive top speed. The yacht is now available for sale and is expected to be be available for delivery by 2015. Alberto Mancini is responsible for the exterior design of this Otam performance yacht while Achille Salvagni has been tasked to create the interior design.
Speaking of that performance earlier, how does 47-knots sound on a 100-foot yacht? Impressive, we know but all this power to produce this astounding top speed has to come from somewhere. Try triple MTU 2,600 HP engines connected to Arneson surface drives. One thing to note, the triple engine configuration is actually the option, the standard is twin MTU 2,600s which will then reduce the top speed to around 40-knots.
Although she is a fast-paced yacht, the interior is being designed to make the interior as comfortable as possible...
Numarine 40-meter Explorer Motoryacht Design

You can expect that mode of operation with the Numarine 40-meter XP Explorer. She is envisioned to be powered by twin Cat C32 ACERT marine diesel engines. Taking her time she should be able to easily cruise 4,000 nautical miles before having to refuel.
As is the trend these days for owners to have the benefit of a rugged design that is utility, go-anywhere but still very luxurious and comfortable, the Numarine 40M XP takes accommodation to heart...

Nordhavn introduces new Nordhavn 59' Coastal Pilot

This semi-displacement hull is designed for modest top speeds in the 20-knot range and offers an efficient and sea kindly ride at lower cruising speeds. At the same time, the N59 CP could prove to be the ultimate “jumping off” boat for anyone looking to get into the long range cruising game...
