    Marmot,

    Are you sure that's not a Bangladeshi train shuttle?:D

    Anyway continuing, a garden boat.

    Not sure if they ever built it, but it's very presence on the drafting board should send shivers down the spines of YF congnesceti, no?

    THE CONCEPT:
    "Aluminum, wood, and glass. Lots of glass. A glass dome covering the main suite. A glass Persian carpet in the living room. Glass staircases similar to the Apple Store's. The Beluga feels like a floating loft designed by Jon Ive.

    The yacht, actually designed by Will Erens (any relation to Mr. Bangle at BMW?), has five suites with extendable balconies, Turkish bath, a gym that belongs in the Enterprise, and even a movie theater. The best part, however, is the 650-square-foot deck with a 14-meter long swimming pool and the built-in greenhouse with a vegetable garden."

    Sheesh, living in the rarified world of bizzillionaires apparently fries your (good) taste buds.
    :cool:

    An unholy marriage between a Bluewater and a Ocean Emerald (both ugly by design).

    This is another Chinese "success story". It sank on launching.

    I recall a magazine article with Jim Wynne taking one of these trailerboats across the Atlantic on her own bottom - now that is courage :)!

    This must be the promotion trip with the Coronet 22 Explorer, which was considered a beauty and does not belong in this thread, but since you brought it up and I am a Coronet owner and fan, here goes;

    It was in July 1958, they were driving from Gothenburg to New York and they were escorted by a cargo ship, the Clary Thordén. Onboard was the boatbuilder himself Ole Botved, James R. Wynne and Sven-Erik Örjangård.

    Botved and Wynne I had the privilege to meet a couple of times here in Sweden in the 60:s and 70:s.

    I am not sure if a Salvador Dali aircraft wilted on top of this thing or it is mating with a limp sea creature of some sort ...
