The next generation? http://www.wimp.com/watervehicle/ Great for going ashore to collect the breakfast croissants when anchored in a remote bay.
the next question is where do i get a couple of these , i would have sea doo's and 4 wheelers all in one travler
http://www.gibbstech.co.uk/index.php designed them, but I don't think they are production vehicles... yet.
Can't be too far away from production if not already available now. Gibbs were setting up a new manufacturing plant in the US for the amphibious car version (Aquada) plus the ATV I think and 2009 was the projected marketing launch target. Also now in partnership with a large US defence supplier to further develop various prototype military amphibious vehicles presumably destined for the US forces if approved. Alan Gibbs is a local man (part time local these days) with an amazing sculpture farm bordering on the Kaipara Harbour grazed by exotic animals such as giraffes amongst the striking and very large modern art works set in several hundred manicured acres with made-made lakes etc - and also has these unique water toys of his at hand I believe. Totally private domain however. The local tidal conditions stimulated his interest in developing amphibious vehicles. An individual with a passion for invention.
Going through some more photos on FlickR I saw this, Ovei 'thing' on the aft deck of "Sherakhan" when she was at the 2009 edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS). Can anyone tell me what in the world is this capsule-like contraption? http://www.flickr.com/photos/42414903@N08/3965630410/sizes/o/
wow, a 'flying hovercraft', interesting! Thanks for posting that, I'm sure we could see something like that aboard a yacht someday. Come on, "A" carries a hovercraft already, it's just it doesn't fly.
Maybe when they bring out a VTOL version, we might see these on yachts. http://www.wimp.com/flyingcar/
That's nice, thanks for posting it! For years now persons have been purporting the idea if VTOL aircraft as the future of aviation toys onboard large yachts. I think one of them is the commercial version to the V-22 that has got alot of attention. I have no doubt that it will happen regularly sometime in the near future.
A great new yacht toy from Moller International moller.com - The good Dr. plans to ship a high-power ground-effect flying disk this year called Neuera. (I know, they have missed target dates many times in the past if memory serves me right. ) The VTOL capabilities of the Skycar will certainly reduce the hassles of a getting from airport to yacht and beyond for a party of four if it ever ships on a commercial basis.
