The yacht Savvy is here in Barbados as from yesterday. She is currently alongside in the Port St. Charles Marina in St. Peter. Alongside her at another seems to be a perini but i can't identify it. You can see Savvy from this Port St. Charles webcam....http://www.portstcharles.com/webcam3_pop.cfm

Destination Fox Harb'r is an absolutely gorgeous Dubois design built by Alloy Yachts in NZ. She was the first superyacht I ever saw up close, before I even knew what a "superyacht" was or anything about the industry. I was walking around the docks in Halifax a few summers ago and she was in town, getting ready for the Tall Ships parade (unfortunately that was the week after I was leaving).

She belongs to the owner of Fox Harb'r Golf Resort & Spa in Nova Scotia.

Her maiden voyage was for the owner’s retirement trip of sailing the south pacific islands to which he gave out personal invitations to friends to meet at particular harbors and join him along the way. I was told it was an amazing trip and her crew was second to none.

Amazing how far a cup of coffee can take you.

    cheers all

Yep. Ever driven downtown Halifax? You'd understand why he chose to retire there. :D You can stand in the parking lot of one TH and see 2-3 others... one of which is directly across the street. LOL

    Savvy's Cool Too

Let's not skip Savvy, which is the title of this thread -- a few words about her:

She is in many ways one of the prettiest and classiest yachts around -- she's a 1961 Camper & Nicholsons design which was totally rebuilt in 2002 in Italy with no costs apparently spared in construction, design or finish. Her interior is awesome in quality, understated elegance and warmth, and her equipment is top notch. I've been on her and the "feel" aboard her is terrific.

The refit was done by I believe a European couple whose devotion to detail and quality shows in spades in the finished product.

I couldn't afford her when the couple sold her last year to the current owner. But keep your eye on her because she's a unique vessel -- particularly her interior.

I have no financial interest in any of this -- just an appreciation for a truly remarkable piece of work which might otherwise go unnoticed.

    Regards,
    CNRules

    Savvy

    Thanks Yachtluver.
I saught her out at the 2005 FLIBS because of my interest in refurbished Camper & Nicholsons motoryacht.

She's formerly "Ocean Liberty" -- not originally of the greatest C&N design vintage (way post C. E. Nicholson), but the redo is a winner.

You can get nice photos if you do a google image search for "Ocean Liberty" -- the yacht was formerly part of the "Clement Collection" of distinctive properties.
