I am currently the owner of an 80' motor yacht, three stateroom, that I do not charter. I was looking to move up to a 110' motor yacht and put it out for charter. It only has three staterooms but POSSIBLY can make a fourth. Spoken with a few charter brokers, but hard to get a feel for how many weeks I might charter? Also do I need the fourth stateroom? Boat has plenty of good space for up to 6 in crew, but can not be used for guests. Boat would be in FL/Bahamas for the winter and New England in the summer. Any thought greatly appreciated. Thanking you in advance.
I'm having a hard time following your post. The boat has staterooms to sleep 6 crew, not including the guest staterooms? I would say on an 80' that at least half the time the 4th stateroom does not get used. And on most 80' the 4th stateroom is nothing more than a bunkbed, small closet and enough room for a couple to stand and kiss each other......and not anything to spare.....
Charter On the 110' boat that I am considering, there is room for six in crew, four crew staterooms with four heads and showers. Guests would not be comfortable with the crew. The rest of the boat has three guest staterooms with three heads and showers. All of the stateroom , crew and guests, are very substantial and comfortable. The 80' boat that I have now, has four staterooms. Three(all ensuite heads & showers) for guests that sleeps 7 total and a large crew quarter that sleeps 3(also ensuite head & shower). Sorry for the confusion
A friend of mine runs a 103' with 4 crew. And while it has 4 quest staterooms, they only use 3 of them on charter while the chef gets the extra one. They do 6 or so charters a year. And while they could do more, the owner does not want them to.
