Thought it might be fun to post a picture and add what we would presume the skipper said at the moment of truth. "Honey, will you check the chart and tell me if marker #16 was floating or fixed?"
Temporary Insanity II, that must've hurt, wonder if the same incident happend to the first Temporary Insanity... And is there a Temporary Insanity III in the works...
"No Fear" a Cigarette on Pelican Reef Sint Maarten....2000. "Yup, no fear at all I did park it here!"
Here are some photos from Mallorca. The last 2 are from the sail boat John Player and the others are from Picante. If i can remember correctly this happened in 2003 after a heavy storm.
Hope this pictures is not to big could not resize it, but these yachts have some damages as you can see,
New on NCL: Cargo deck, children's playland and free climbing in one. Also new: Feel the waves running over you, and have a coffee in our new seawater lounge over five decks Leveller
It happened in 1999 in the Dover Strait... See this link http://www.navis.gr/safety/nordream/nordream.htm Leveller
From what I understand, the driver of the boat did not own it, was drunk, and had kids on the boat. He is rumored on St. Maarten to be a former drug runner, who rolled on his "esteemed colleagues" and was relocated to SXM under witness protection. nas
Ok, back to the fun & games. I'll go out on a limb and poke fun at myself. Though I wasn't at the wheel, I was right next to it on a north bound ICW trip. Naturally, the wind was howling and their was a moon tide. The whole area was (slightly) covered with water at the time but we were dead center of the channel. I saw a stream coming out from the bank on our port side & told my friend to come slightly over to stbd. Just then......Whammo That is one hell of a scary feeling! You can see the TowboatUS guy just as ashamed because moments after coming along side, he too was stuck. By the time we got out of there, their were two other stuck sport fishers next to him and several more cruisers waiting about a 1/4 mile away.
