Whiticar I have just signed a contract on a 1961 whiticar, which appears to be a time capsule. She has her original 235 hp 671s(rebuilt 300hrs ago) new electrical panel although there is some 32 volt left, and A very original interior that appears to have been beautifully maintained. I would love to hear about Whiticars, 671s ( their reliability, fuel consumtion) and the perils of 32 volts. Many thanks, Maldwin
Congrats on the accepted offer. It's great to see nice Classics going to good owners. Good luck with her. I hope she surveys well. Many older Hatteras Yachts have 32v. gear. SAM's Marine, the purveyor of parts for Hatts, is one source for 32v. stuff.
Congrats Maldwin, I think! With Whiticar right up the road from your SE base, you should be able to source info in person. If you get a chance, visit Sailor's Return in Stuart, under the Roosevelt Bridge. They have a number of old Whiticar pics gracing the walls and a few models too. You just might find your boat was the recipient of a Kodak moment. BTW... is the boat SE based. Would love to see it.
Thanks Carl, As long as the survey goes well, she will be in Hobe Sound this winter after a summer in Maine. I would love to have you aboard then! ,
