...it would have been nice to see her launched. I'm not sure what make/model/year "Elegante" is, but I spotted her in Naples, Florida and thought members would enjoy seeing this classic cruiser. She was absolutely flawless.

    Elegante

Although she looks everything in the world like a Trumpy, "Elegante" was actually built in 1964 at Whiticar Boat Works in Stuart, FL.

She recieved a complete refit in the late 80's early 90's, when she was then known as the "Bandarlog"

I had the pleasure of being aboard her after her refit, and have to say she was the most pristine and perfectly maintained wooden yacht I had seen.

I got that Mecum email as well... I hope she does fetch top dollar, and I hope whomever buys her has the commitment and resources to keep her in such fine condition.

That is a beautiful yacht. She was just in Bay Harbor MI for the classic yacht and car show.

I've seen her listed for sale for quite sometime now. I also hope who ever gets her maintains her like the current owners. Her name is very fitting.

Yeah, I caught it sailing in the San Juan Islands when I was a kid. I saw my first bullnose Chris Craft with about 10 layers of varnish and I was a goner.
