    Hi all

I am planning to buy a KVH Tracvision system for my Bertram 38' convertible.
My only problem is I live in South Africa and on the KVH website it doesn't indicate weather any of their systems can operate with our South Africa satellite service which is PAS 7. I don't really know which system is the best to go for, so if anyone can help that would great.

    Thanks all

looking around, I couldn't find any info on whether any Marine tv system will work .
What about the boats you are around in the marinas? Local knowledge is always best.

I would not recommend Sea King (King Dome). They have alot of problems with their systems. Yes I have one.

Ok, Korean marine dish manufacturer Intellian,
    http://www.intelliantech.com/
who make nice auto tracking setups for Ka and Ku band satellites, sell thier equipment in South Africa through a company called Space Television,
    http://www.spacetv.co.za/
who do installation and setup for Multichoice,
    http://www.multichoice.co.za/multichoice/view/multichoice/en/page1
which provides satellite television service from Intellsat 7 (PAS-7) at 68.5°E.

Not a direct answer to your question, but I would think a call or Email to any one of the companies listed above could solve your problem easily.

The tracking antenna doesn't care which satellite it tracks, it's happy to track whichever you program it to. You will need to install the LNB, the part that the dish focuses on, which is the part that is specific to the programming provider along with the set top box. When you change regions, you just change the LNB and box and reprogram the tracking.
