I was watching Overboard recently, the 1980's movie with Curt Russel and Goldie Hawn.....I like any movie that stars a boat.

Does anyone know what boat that is? What is she up to these days?

It was Attessa. Interestingly it was also the yacht in Indecent Proposal after a major refit and extension. Amazing difference between the before and after.

It was renamed Huntress at some point. I think it burned and sank in the late nineties.

Does anyone have photos? I would love to see the before and after.

Do you know the maker and size?

Do a Google image search for "Attessa" Looks like the correct yacht that pops up in the early results.

Here's a bit taken from the Overboard DVD:
"Dubbed 'so ostentatious and tacky that even a billionaire arms dealer might consider it tasteless' (The Hollywood Reporter), the 130ft Stayton yacht, bedecked in crystal chandeliers and velvet cheetah upholstery, was docked in Fort Bragg's Noyo Harbor"

In the movie, the yacht is called "Imaculata"
No mention of the yacht is made in the credits; however, over the years, we've heard the following:
At the time of filming Overboard, the yacht was called "Yecats" - a 130ft Kong & Halvorsen hull from 1984.
It was supposedly sunk due to fire and refurbished.
    Renamed Attessa
    Lengthened to 142ft
Appeared in the movie "Indecent Proposal"

Pic from the DVD cover included. (Sorry it is so small, but that's all I had)

Thanks, the photo you posted is the boat I am trying to learn about. Is that the same boat as the one in the photo I posted above after a fire and massive rebuild?

    Sinking of the Huntress

I was aboard THE USS Siapan in 1998, we answered a s.o.s. in the Mediterranean . Came up on a very impressive yacht, unfortunately it was on fire and looked to be going under. The crew were saved, The yacht was not so lucky. The people on the yacht were borrowing it for a trip from the owners. How do you say sorry for that one? Sad thing to have to watch.....

so she burned and sank. Was she rebuilt, or still sitting on the bottom?

    Yacht from Overboard

I was recently in Anacortes, WA for a whale watch trip. We were told by our captain that this is the yacht that was used in the movie Overboard. The name on the side is Alliance. Not the best photo (sorry), but hope this helps.

    SurfCruise,

The yacht you posted in post #6 is the 1992 50 meter Feadship Magor Wagor. She is currently for sale for roughly 15 million USD. If I am not mistaken she was formerly Indefensible, Floridian and launched as Impromptu for the widow of McDonalds founder Ray Croc.

Hey Tom, Thanks for a great shot! I have liked this Feadship for a long time now. With the jacuzzi on the main aft deck it might be fair to say she was a trendsetter when we see newer yachts with this configuration, aka Alfa Nero, Sunrays, etc... Magor Wager's current owners created a website to chronicle their adventures at sea. She was one of the private yachts that ferried supplies into Haiti shortly after last year's quake. Before I forget, here is her web address: http://majorwageratsea.com/.

I have been curious if the yacht Atessa this thread was created to discuss was a former yacht of Dennis Washington, the well documented owner of a string of Atessa's. He has a penchant for buying and refitting boats in all sorts of condition.

    Yacht from Overboard

The yacht used in 'Overboard' was definately the Kong & Halvorsen '130' 'Yecats'. Apparently she was fitted with a small helipad on the aft deck and the fuel storage caused a fire which resulted in her destruction. From what I was told by Harvey Halvorsen, that was the end of her. The other yachts shown in these postings are not the Overboard boat.

Are there other things Kong & Halvorsen has built or accomplish?
Do you know what ever happened to that business?
I ask because I never heard that company's name before.
