    Terrible.
Boats can be replaced. Hopefully all escaped safely.

Appeared to be deserted throughout the vid.
Amazing that she stayed afloat, not to mention on her lines as well.
    Speaks well of the marque.

Gonna eventually make a helluva express boat for somebody.

You can clearly hear someone using a camera to take some serious amount of pics ... in that footage .

.. electrical fault or something happen in the Galley

Maybe builders/designers should seriously look at fitting sprinkler systems on Yachts ..

You'll have a Halon or dry chemical system in the engine room, but beyond that it's most likely just hand held extinguishers.

Don't forget the one that slipped into gear and ran wild in the marina. Unfortunately, the third comes along real often and fast at this time of year in one way or another.
I think Cocktails is a Hargrave, and that one had some human help.

As the Capt. of a sistership, it is heart wrenching to see her go up in Flames like that.
It started in the engine room, as evidenced by the initial smoke coming from the boat deck vent. I have heard more detailing info but will save it until more concrete info is published.
I suggust we all check that our dampeners are closing properly, as it looks like this one did not.

    Hi,

On any vessel , It is good practice if not already in place to have a regular drill and exercising of these and the quick closing valves/emergency stops.

It makes the crew familiar with the location and operation and all things being equal gives you a good chance that the things will work as designed when really required.

Unfortonetly this was an older westport (2005) The new 130's have a full sprinkler system throughout the boat.

    That is correct.
There is an option on the second generation 40M for sprinklers throughout.

*edit* the new Westport's are classed vessels, thus have sprinklers throughout.
