Can someone help me with this? 1961 35' Express, orig 283 engines, starboard water pump started leaking a little bit last fall. Upon spring start up, its leaking a lot, so i took it off and brought it to the boatyard mechanic. He can't fing anything wrong with it and tells me it must be leaking from the generator area. His thought is to cap off the lines that run to the gen and see what happens. He thinks the water cooling of the gen bearing is over engineering and says that he has seen this capped off on other old engines. Any thoughts, as a replacement gen seems hard to come by. The water pump itself is only about 3 years old (Sherwood). thanks, gregg brooksbank
