I can't find anything in the U.S. market that has the 17" depth that the Candy Activa Smart (UK built) has and i need to replace the current unit with something compatible with our U.S. electrical systems. Any ideas?

    Hi,

Is your current Washer Dryer suitable for us in the US?

If so you might be as well getting spares for that one rather than getting into a big job to replace it.

No, the washer was pulled out in italy before the boat came over. I just have a "hole" in the head where the original unit sat. Right now there is no unit on the boat. The boat is still 220v but the appliances have to be 50 cycle instead of european 60 cycle. The washer/dryer combo is the only appliance I cannot find that will fit that area and run on 50 cycle.

    Hi,

That might be because the Power in Europe is 50 Hz and in the US is 60 Hz.

50 Hz motors will run faster at 60 Hz and will last a bit better in general than 60 Hz motors running at 50Hz.

You should also be aware that US 220V is a quite different animal to European 230/240V Electricity.

You're in Fort Lauderdale. There is/used to be a store on 17st street kitty-corner to the Harbour Grill that sold Euro-appliances like Bosch & Miele.
    Maybe they can help you.
