"Ladies and Gentlemans, we had 43 killings last year. But do not be alarmed, it is relatively safe".

"Theophilus stressed that the island remained a "relatively safe" place to visit."

Maybe he could have used a better choice of words. But at least he was honest. :)

More than can be said about the tourist ministers/officials of of most places. Including many big cities in the US.

A lot of these problems throughout the Islands can be handed straight to one person, our (late) chum in the south, Dear Hugo.

El Presidente managed to open the borders to his FARC mates in Columbia; all that joy has now spread amongst the islands in white powder and guns. Chavez's little lickspittle pawn Maduro, who is now President, has suddenly realised that this may be a bad thing for international investment.

These muppets in charge are killing a whole region, not just the odd tourist.

Sorry, I just had to get that rant off my chest!

The banana industry has collapsed in St lucia a couple of years ago.
And some locals apparently think that robbing the group that brings money will be the solution.
A shame for such a pretty Island.

I remember that Greg Norman started a new development called Praslin Bay. It's on the east Side of the island, but after the crisis they stopped the development completely.
    A little deserted unfinished project.

I really enjoyed my stay on the island.
I was at the sandals resort at Rodney Bay.
