Looked at a mid 90's 46 Bertram today. Aside from the unknown issues the most obvious was the current owner wall-papered all of the original interior maple wood & painted all of the doors & door trim about 3 years ago and in my opinion ruined their boat. No idea what glue was used but if it was just the typical house type wall paper glue perhaps could be steam removed without destroying the wood. Anyone know if Bertram used real wood or would it be some type of thin wood veneer ?
Keep in mind that there might have been a reason they covered up the wood. For example water damage staining. If you don’t love it, move on!
There are some wallpaper removing enzymes that work pretty well. But, as Danvilletim said, who knows what's under that wallpaper and why they covered it up. Buyer beware!
Eventually got years of service records, and listed in one was a line item; "applied treatment for termites" which led me to think was the cause for all the wallpaper so moved on.
