As many YF members know, I work for a main regional Volvo sales and parts dealership amongst other franchises. A client came in the other day and wanted a new exhaust manifold and injector leak-off rail for a KAD 300. The KAD and KAMD range was one of the most popular diesels sold in the last 15 years worldwide, thousands of them. They only stopped making them 5 years ago to switch to the D series. I tried to order the parts in the UK, unavailable. Then tried the whole of Europe, non monsieur. Hey c'mon, they sell 300 manifolds a year for a popular motor, why non in stock? Does anyone remember when Chrysler crushed all the spare parts(two huge warehouses full) for the Jeep CJ5 and 7 so that we would buy a new Renegade? Are they telling us something? If you could call around your local US/Canada Volvo dealers and check if they have a manifold and pipe in stock, please PM me. Pulling my hair out. Dave
Hi FISHTIGUA, It's early Monday morning here so give me a few hours. I have put in a call to a good contact at Volvo Marine and lets see what happens. If you can give me any more detail it may help. "exhaust manifold and injector leak-off rail" was a question that was discussed a few times in that they were not quite sure (in Aus speak anyway) what precisely you are after, BUT I still think they got it. Regards, Kafue
Volvo Parts Hi Fishtigua This is what I have so far: There is an exhaust manifold in Sydney. I am FAR from being a mech/engineer or tech guy so excuse the description. This is basically an exhaust pipe that bolts to the cylinder and then the turbos etc??? Cost in Sydney including GST is AU$1969 However, like you, I CANNOT find a leak off line. Could you find a junked engine to get this part off? Or go to an injector specialist and have one made up? Please give me your email & I will forward you my contact in Queensland. He cannot supply me direct as I am not a dealer. His name is Ross and he is 100% TRUE, a good value guy there to help you! I have all the images in PDF to send so that we are on the same page.
Sorry, I forgot to put the part numbers on the first post. 877067 for the exhaust 861722 for the fuel line Kafue, thanks for having a look for me. Sydney is a bloody long way to ship an exhaust pipe though, I'll see if one is available a bit closer to home. Many thanks Dave
Hi, No problem, let me know if you need to get this over. These days, no where is too far. BTW when you say "bloody long way" you sound almost Aussie or Rhodesian! lol
