Hi, So open to ideas, just completed a full service to both of my D4 260, all good took her out to run her up to temperature and check all levels, after 30mins of running at 2600 rpm port engine red warning triangle comes up with code 177 fuel problem. Switched it over to starboard tank as a process of elimination, checked all filters for leaks etc, re started engine no warning triangle approached 1600 revs then warning triangle fault code 177 and engine goes into limp mode. Any thoughts would be helpful before having to pay through the nose for a marine engineer Thank you
Does it stay running below that rpm ? Put in N bypass can you you get full throttle 4000rpm in neutral ? Water in fuel filter ? Can disconnect mprop to get max fuel pressure. Try asking on boat diesel
How old are the filters, primaries and secondaries? Any sign of air bubbles in the racor? Do you have a vacuum gauge on the racors?
If "full service" included changing both fuel filters on that motor, double check all of your work including the fuel/water separator connection.
As Pascal mentioned, a vacuum gauge might reveal your problem. If you have an extra set of filters, I would put them on and re-test.
Who just completed the service? DIY or a real Volvo shop? Running just after the service we don't know if it is an induced error, Factory time alarm, or a real new alarm. Some service points need the factory (service rep) to set some computer point to conclude the required service.
