Looking to purchase a used 45, 2004-2007 Viking express. Can anyone give me the pro/cons about this boat. Input would be helpful. Thanks

I made the jump from a Tiara express boat to a Viking convertible over three years ago and I could not be happier. An overwhelming majority of the sportfish owners and captains will tell you that Viking makes the best production boat. On top of that I strongly believe that Viking's service is the best in the industry. A used Viking will typically be more than a similar boat made by their competition but you get what you pay for.

My advice to you on the 45 express would be:
    1) Try to get a boat with the 1100 common rail MAN engines. They run better and they bring more money which you get back when you sell it. There will be fewer of them with the CRMs because they were only putting CRMs into boats beginning in the second half of 2005. I'd tell you to try to get a 2006 or 2007. In 2006 viking made major interior improvements that made the earlier boats look outdated.
    2) If you plan on spending ANY time staying on the boat then seriously consider getting a convertible.
    3) Helm A/C: If you plan on using the boat in Florida or the Bahamas in the summer it is a necessity.

    Good luck!
