I have worked with EMI and Simon monitoring systems onboard newer US built yachts. I love the systems,,,, when they are working! I certainly would not want to see any life saving equipment being built around these monitoring systems.. or at least with out an IT tech 24 hr standby service to go with it.

I was wondering what some of the European or other yachts were installing for monitoring and how dependable or reliable the systems are.

Do they do things that that it should not do and you have no idea why?
    Are they overly complicated?
Have they failed in the worst of times?
    Ghost alarms that mean nothing?
Is the service tech dependable for malfunctions that you can't fix?

    Hi,

I am not familiar with either of the above mentioned systems but would have no hesitation in recommending IMTECH or PRAXIS Systems

Always liked the Stein & Sohn mainly because its so reliable - fitted to a lot of merchant ships. Shame it takes up so much space in the MCR though. Good mimics too come to think of it.

    hey hello

i have work in holland for 7 years at tijssen elektro (before i moved to brasil) and the have made there own system callt "mpa"

they work at a few shipyards like heesen yachts, moonen shipyard, vitters in holland and for sunseeker and burgerboats

the systems are made per yachts that mean they are costummade layout with the general layout of the yachts

it works good but sometimes some small bugs because it is costum made but they are 99,9% fix before delivery

i hope this info is use full for you

I can only second that MPA works well and efficiently and is user friendly. The sytem is quite reliable as well.

They are a part of the Interschalt Group who are also very good at a whole range of shipboard electrical services.
