So did everybody watch the Tiger prowl this weekend? I've never watched so much golf in my life! Good thing I'm retired, no need to fake a sick day. Kelly
I've watched Tiger on occasion. It seems like a lot of his shots are pure luck, but the fact that he continues to get lucky with each shot... is pure skill. I have to confess, I never developed an interest in the game, but if golf carts came with more horsepower, I'd be puttin'!
I can drive Ok, but my short game was hopeless. I do think Tiger has been a boost for the game as a whole. Had he fallen out of this weekend's tournament, I would have stopped watching at that point. Though full credit is due to Mediate. Today I kept expecting him to fold, and that never happened. Kelly
Kelly, Yup, I was subconsciously expecting Tiger to fold too, but he just kept on going! He is the most mentally-tough player around. Considering how hard the course was, both players were great! I hope to see these guys in 2010 when the USGA holds the U.S. Open in our neck of the woods (June 17-20, 2010 at Pebble Beach). Arnie
KCook & the US Open Of course we watched. It was an "epic" contest. It's rare when both players feel they won something. That's sportsmanship. P.S. Does anyone have any info on the whereabouts of SEAQUEST (130' WESTPORT)? I took some pictures of her moored at the Monterey, California harbor just before Katrina. Don't know who owns her or where she may be. Ron
What's this got to do with golf? Same owner, and her new name is Freedom. She is at Rybovich Boatyard in Florida.
There was an article in WorldGolf a while ago that focused on a "rumor" that he may be thinking about retirement, and now with recent knee surgery, the clock is ticking. Personally, I'm fine with him winning every major for the next 20 years, but making it close of course.
Hello, I'm the new guy! Yesterday was the first time I've ever watched golf. It was from the 17th green in the playoff round and then the sudden death holes. Pretty amazing! I'm glad those guys are friends. It's refreshing to see great sportsmanship these days. Mac
Nothing Ken (just answering fastprintRon's P.S.about oh yeah, a yacht), but what's golf got to do with yachting? Only kidding guys. I know how pasionate people get about Golf so I'm going to jump out of this thread before I get myself in more trouble.
Welcome to YF, Mac I think I'm safe in saying that this US Open was special. Or at least my idea of a win-win event. Kelly
The Golf Channel states that due to the severity of the knee surgery, Tiger is done for the year. Not good.
