Hi, I'm new here, but thought that you guys would be among the best placed group in the world to ask if you had any opinions on US boat builders' attitudes or willingness to open manufacturing facilities in China.

I had a conversation with some boating industry executives in Florida who were adamant that they would be willing to sell to the Chinese, but wouldn't consider setting up shop there.

Later I had a conversation with a marine-focused investment group in Canada who said that their experience with US boat builders was similar, but that the Canadians were more willing to look abroad because of their smaller domestic market.

Any thoughts to explain the difference in attitude or examples of boat building companies that have expanded into Asia successfully? With China growing so fast (and boat ownership increasing at double digits), what's behind the lack of US interest in that market (esp with the decline in US boat sales)?

Thanks in advance for any insights you have.

PS -- I looked over the forums to see if anyone had covered anything similar and didn't see anything. If this has already been discussed, then I apologize and will go hunting where you point me.
