  1. Heesen's 65-meter FDHF superyacht hull and superstructure joined

A milestone has been reached in the construction of the first hull in Heesen's 65-meter Fast Displacement Hull Form (FDHF) series. The hull and superstructure of YN 16465 are now joined together to form the shell of the yacht.

The mating of the two structures happened late last year in December. YN 16465 is expected to be completed by June 2013. A quick look at some of the stand out features of the 65-meter, according to Heesen she will have a top speed of 27-knots with a range of 4,200 nautical miles. She'll have five gyro-stabilizers, a touch-and-go heli-pad, beach club, large swim platform, 6 cabin layout, main deck master and upper deck VIP as well as Forward gull-wing tender garage.

Naval Architecture has been done by Van Oossanen Naval Architects b.v. while the design has been penned by Omega Architects. Bannenberg and Rowell are on the interior design. Displacement at half load is around 560-tonnes with top fuel capacity around 90,000 LT. The engine package is put together by MTU with twin 20V 4000 M93L's. Spacious beam of 11.50-meters and draft of 3.10-meters ensure comfortable living and social spaces with the ability to enjoy the views of secluded and far flung nooks and coves around the world.
