    Hi,

the 34 m United Spirit (built in Sweden in 1938/1939) was over the weekend in Bremen for what was said, looking for someone to buy her. I heard she is since 2005 on the market, is that right? Dose anyone know the price? As she is now 70 years old, there must be an interesting story about her. I would like to know, if some of you can tell me something about her. My special interest starts with 1991/1993, when she had her first refit.

    Regards

    Martin

She was built as EDI II and this is how she looked. Today the bow got an extra 3 meters and the superstructure is new. Her original aircraft aluminium is now coated with this system: http://www.fagerdalamarine.com

When I was a kid we used to swim in the wake she produced in our little bay, where she was the largest boat to enter...

Thanks, Lars. She was certainly modern for her times. Nice lines.

    Hi,

That picture of her was taken in the small Vegesack Harbour.

I was standing alongside it about 2 weeks ago and was amazed how shiny and fair it looked, I had already seen a bit about the hull treatment system and thought the name was familiar It wasn't till I went home and did a bit of searching I came up with the website and the full story again.

The brown brick building in the background is the Lurssen administration building.

That's right, Vegesack Harbour - oldest artificial harbour of Germany, built 1619 to 1623.

Two more: On the first you can see more off the Lürssen building and on the second you can imagine why the captain had problems to turn the yacht around.

    Hi,

Yes, When I saw it it was facing the other way over on the same side as the Havenhooft ( not sure if that spelling is right).

It's a mall. The spelling was not made for english: Haven Höövt. Höövt comes from Höft which meant cape (like Cape Charles or Cape Cod), Haven for harbour. It was the place where the lugger landed their catch in the past.
