That's not a boathouse, it's a museum.:D Lot's of gorgeous boats and other stuff though. You could spend days in there and not be able to see everthing in detail.

I'm a few skinned knuckles ahead the average vocational student and about a wrench shy of being a bonafide shade tree mechanic. While I haven't achieved full-fledged gearhead status, I'm definitely a garage guy. Matter of fact - for me - the ultimate house is a 1/1 with a 5-car garage. This Boathouse sets a new benchmark!

    Four cheers for Four Winns!

We've had the opportunity in passing to peek inside a few times when coming in and out of the channel. It is quite impressive to say the least. IT's especially a treat when the doors are rolled up.

They are also very nice, down to earth people, and well respected in the area. More for being regular old people, and certainly not the 'snobs with the boat house on Charlevoix'.

The only draw back is location in winter. I'm surprised that houses like this are not all over Florida or the Caribbean, etcetera or even Seattle would be more live able climate wise. The Winn house I've seen recently for sale after seeing it on HGTV a few weeks back. Around $9million asking.

Winter brings snow sleds and ice skating / hockey on the lake. It all comes to a [freezing] crawl.

Maybe appealing when I was a teenager and involved in winter sports! These days bring on global warming turn the Gulf Islands into the Caribbean..........

At near $9million Id rather recreate the house someplace warmer.

To each his own of course. Northern Michigan is equally beautiful under a blanket of snow. You do get stir crazy after a solid month of gray skies and 15* highs.

I wish you wouldn't have asked otherwise I'd been able to mention them.
It's not David's "Resolute" which is often seen in Charlevoix and further north at Bay Harbor.

I know it. It's stuck on the tip of my tongue though.

The house is forsale so the agent has set up a webpage. Just google Winn boat house and the link should pop up.

I believe the girl taking front stage is the 147' Cracker Bay, Hakvoort 2002, previously Campbell Bay. Not sure what other vessel is being asked about.

    The other boathouse

The red-roofed home/boathouse on the south arm of Lake Charlevoix is home to a 1966 pristene 70 foot Trumpy "Jocelyn", owned by a true lover of wood and whose business origins were in cabinet making.

I just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find a picture of her which I *know* I have from a year or so ago when she was tied up at Bay Harbor for a weekend.
