After being removed from what probably was the wrong section for posting, i'll give this one more try before making a harsh judgment. Greetings. This forum looks like a good resource, hope to make some friends and find some fellow navigators. Anyone familiar with the Richmond Yacht Basin area? Thx
Trippin Welcome. Don't be harsh, this forum is generally more about answering questions, etc than chatting? I'm certain you will get a response re the Basin. Some of those guys on the Post thread can be pretty friendly....
Welcome Trippin. Just keep in mind that if you're asking a brand specific question post it under that section. IOWs if you ask about a bilge pump on a Chris Craft Roamer, post it under C.C.Roamer. If you're just asking about a bilge pump, then it would be technical or general. I don't know too much about computers, but apparently YF has a lot of members and a ton of information/posts. If they don't keep it organized the search engines have trouble locating. (or at least that's what I get of it)
Fixed Beau! All you need to do is ask. Welcome to YF Trippin. One of our mods deleted your first thread because it looked like a lead-in. Shame on us, but we stay ever-vigilant due to the number of people looking to exploit our media. Quite a bit different from OSO or S&F, of which I'm sure you're familiar. I saw your profile when you registered and meant to send you a personal welcome. We may have crossed paths. Like you, I'm old go-fast guy that slowed down; got tired of the testosterone that plagues the segment. The mechanically minded are in abundance here. You'll be in good company, although big blocks have an entirely different meaning on YF.
Thanks Bro ! Yeah I'm kinda glad to be pulling out of that environment. I'll miss the speed and the sound but if all else fails I'll throw a set of Ilmor's in my cruiser LOL !! Feel free to re-delete my original "Greetings" post in the other section. Old Phart is already an admirer.
Very familiar. Visited with Kieth Kiselback for an afternoon during a PacNW yard tour a few years back. He's one of a handful of old-school boat builders. Great guy who also worked with another member of YF: Jim Hawkins, who's involved in Cape Scott Yachts with Dan Fritz now.
Awesome !! Thx, when I'm closer to putting something in over there I'll reach out a little more aggressively. I like the location and I think the water is fresh, semi fresh? I'll be road tripping there soon to really get a good feel for the area. I've spoken with Max at the Yacht Basin already, nice guy, seemed knowledgable, I'll meet up with him first I guess. This is all new territory for me.
I wish I had asked to have that done when I signed-up. Accidently left the CAPS on. @meTwit #halfassed
