I am putting a swim platform onto my 38' 1969 Roamer.
The transom tilts forward and I am trying to determine the angle to make the braces to. I have figured the transom is at about a 8 degree angle. Any one know a definite figure?

You could always make up the difference with wooden wedges.

    Swim platform

I am not sure if that would hold very well. I am having the brackets modified with an 82 degree angle. I am bolting the platform to the transom with 1/4" SS bolts. Do you think these are sufficient? Getting to the transom with the water tank there is a real pain!!!

You would bolt right through the wood, using them as spacers. This will also help to alleviate dissimilar metal reactions.

The swim platform on my 46 Roamer is enormous and used mahogany spacers as Mr. Bracewell has described. The platform is made of stainless, as are the 3/8" bolts. I will use the same mahogany spacer approach when I mount mine, but will cold mold them by saturating them in epoxy before painting them with the appropriate top coat or bottom paint.
