I'm having the shafts and props checked and trued along with new cutlass bearings and dripless seals installed.

However, when the shaft was removed from the port side, the output flange had lots of play up, down, and laterally. No noise or oil leaks.

The transmission is a ZF IRM301A1.

I'm wondering if anyone else had this problem.

Could I just remove the back housing and repair, or do I have to yard her out?

I've been trying to locate an exploded view picture but have yet to locate one.

    Thanks

OK...It looks like the port shaft is bent along with the damaged output flange on the transmission. I'm going to turn it over to my insurance.
