On February 17th 2006 Nobiskrug – a company of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems – received the order for a new motor yacht. The yacht with a length of 223.6 feet and the hull number 780 will be designed in cooperation with the Australian design office Pure Detail and accommodates 12 guests.

Multiple tender garages, a separate Owner`s Deck and generous exterior deck spaces are amongst the special features of this yacht. With a top speed of 17 knots and a cruising range of 5,000 nm the yacht is designed for worldwide cruising and will be certified by the M.C.A.. Innovative design and sophisticated details will make NB 780 a fine example of German yacht building skills.

With this contract Nobiskrug now has got three motor yachts between 218 and 240 feet under construction. The delivery is scheduled for June 2008.

Next to the new building activities refits and repairs will remain an important core business for Nobiskrug. Currently there is refit work as well as a restoration carried out at the yard.

ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems – a company of ThyssenKrupp Technologies – is the managing division of the new shipyard alliance created from ThyssenKrupp Werften and HDW. With its major shareholdings Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft, Kiel, Nobiskrug, Rendsburg, Nordseewerke, Emden, Blohm + Voss, Hamburg, Blohm + Voss Repair, Hamburg, Kockums, Sweden and Hellenic Shipyards, Greece, the new shipyard alliance is represented at seven locations in Europe.

The know-how and competence of the ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems has been summarized into three organizational units. The product sectors naval surface ships, megayachts and cargo vessels are conducted by the Surface Vessel Division. The Submarine Division groups the activities of ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems in the submarine sector. All repair services will be conducted and coordinated by the Repair Group Hamburg.
