We have a 2001 97’ Broward. The fly bridge port side throttle went out. A partner attempted to change it himself. It worked for 10 hours or so, but while cruising, the throttle suddenly disengaged from the port side engine. The engine kept running. Now, we can’t get the throttle and the engine to communicate again. Any suggestions would surely be appreciated. We have spent a lot of time with engineers from the throttle company who haven’t been able to help.

Okay I’ll take a shot. I say kobelt electronic controls with caterpillar power.

Our engines are CAT 3410’s and the throttles are manufactured by Kobelt.

We replaced all three Kobelt throttle controls including the main board. Started the engines and everything seemed ok except the we got a red light on the alarm code box on the “T” like light depicted in the picture. We can’t find any reference in the manuals as to what the T alarm code means. After shutting the engines off and later attempting to restart, the engines are dead. Batteries are fine. Any ideas what that code means or suggestions on what to do?

The T alarm icon means throttle. That may not help you much, but that’s what it means.

We have a 97’ Broward. Some have told us we need to find the “reset” switch. We have searched our boat from tip to stern and can’t find a reset. Kobelt obviously doesn’t know and Broward is no longer building boats. Any idea where a reset may be?
